My Heavenly Home Is Bright And Fair (I Feel Like Traveling On) - The Carter Family (Border Radio)
One of my favorite Uncle Dave ballads, and it was apparently one of his faves, also, since he recorded it twice, once without the yodeling.
This truly never gets old. We sang it in the freezing cold at my mom’s funeral, 2012, Ketchikan, Alaska. She loved the verse “Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him.”
I wish I was sitting in their presence back then ❤
So precious ❤
This woman was a freaking legend. I love may belle carter. She is amazing, her whole family is talented as shit, but she is the nucleus that leads it all.
Its a dude.... ohhhhh we been duped! Nothing but lies
Fort Riley?!
I love Sara with all my heart! White people's soul music, for sure!
This family has many dark secrets
Priceless. Singing truth.
Don’t ever delete these videos
Thanks. This is precious.
❤
I love this music
I remember my mother signing this song. Every time she sang I cried, not sure why.
Though Maybelle was known for her guitar playing, she had, in my opinion, a lovely voice. There is not much that I have found of her singing solo in the early days of the Carter Family, so this is great to hear!
This isn’t Cannonball Blues. It’s a rewritten, rearranged version of that song called “He’s Solid Gone. It’s a different song.
Lean on anything else and it will cave in on you!
This is same chords as his other song...no telephone in heaven 😂
Joe sure was a Great Guitar Pick😢 and singer he sure cold tell stories and he could bark like a dog.💕❤️🙏🏼💛😊😊
thank you so much for this!
Thanks! Happy 50th Anniversary Carter Fold!
You can't get anything better than the music by the great Carter family The Carter family Jimmie Rodgers and Johnny Cash or my free all-time favorites in music
I had a fit the first time I seen this old concert I didn't know it even existed. Are there any members of the old Carter family still living what is Helen son's name ?
It makes me kind of sad to see this old concert
He is singing about his life After his wife left him for his cousin😢
Oh to step into this video and listen to them sing live❤

2 dudes....yep yall been fooled!
I wonder if my grandparents or mother are in the crowd? From Snowflake ❄️ Virginia. ❤thanks 😊
We are related through the Porter, Addington names.
Saw this before. A great piece os Americana.
Time is so cruel to us all. This footage has an ethereal ghostly quality. The last of them to be seen, but the voices and playing are stellar.
I think Anita was the underated one in the family. She had a great voice
Stunning
Amazing.
We used to sing this in my rural church in the 40s.
I would definitely want to join such church
Where NO one STANDS ALONE...I had no idea Mother Maybelle sang this...truly amazing to me!!! Thank you... I wish i could buy a ticket for a concert!! Holy unto the LORD!
Thank you for sharing this.
Joe is playing the heck out of that guitar, gracious. I wonder what tuning he's in.
Helen was beautiful love personality and speaking voice she was so sourthern and beemed joy and she could play a orange and make it sound good.
Lies
The Carter Family is legit the only group I've ever heard do the song "Little Log Cabin By The Sea". That tune has become a lost gem.
I agree he's one of the most forgotten pioneers in country music.
So love this. Love me some Carter's all of them. Especially Sara, Maybelle and A.P.
😂🎉😢😮😅
Sort of music sung around my table when I was little.
the birth of country music
