I bought a GB500 brandnew in 1992. I still own it, but I don't ride it very much any more. I'm planning to do an oil change this summer. Only ~6500 miles on the clock! Unforunately there is some moisture in my garage, so there is some corrosion undermeath the rear fender and some bumps on the weights at the handlebar.
What a great bike. I've owned one, two, and four cylinder bikes but I am always drawn towards the single cylinder bikes. They are neat and have plenty of pulling power. My problem is I always ride my wife on back and it would be hard to do on a GB 500 unless I changed the seat and that would ruin the bike.
I have a gb400 faired engine performance is at the top end, you need too use the guide they give you on the speedo to get results, just keep it “red” and you can’t go wrong!!
I have one with 68mils. Mint condition sitting in my garage. Brought about 4 years ago for 3 grand here in Toronto. Think of selling it. Any idea on what it would be worth.
My friend offered me a GB500 TT but on the paper said it was manufactured on 1978 and only have 11 digit VIN. I am little bit lost as all references said that this GB500 start producted on 1989 tp 1990.. Any idea sir?
Yes they were made between 1988 and 1989 a lot went to. America bud did not sell well so Honda shipped a lot of them back to Europe and that's why the one we had was manufactured in 1989 but only registered in1992
I didn't have any clues when my gb500tt was manufactured so I emailed honda motorcycles in Japan asking of built year of my gb500tt. They said mine was made in 1985
I am really thinking about getting one of those....and i kinda like it small and nimble...but the Clubman has a "Women Bike" name around here. Is she really too small for a Guy with around 1,85M ?
@@RetroBikesDublin Thank you for your reply. So i am 6"1 and you think i should check one out? Totally fell in love with the classic look. Have a nice Weekend.
@@RetroBikesDublin Got one now sitting in my Garage....was quite a search, but i got one from the original owner, below 8k miles and totally original...can´t wait fot the sun to come out again! Stay safe!
I had one was.very disappointed with the engine performance it was flat because honda used the same engine in their crosser they must have detuned it for the USA. Sold mine they are now asking £400'-£7000. Don't if they are getting that money. You can ask what you like getting it is another thing !
It's a timeless work of ART!
My father and both have one. I rode his about ten years ago. Rode it along the Malibu coast. I bought mine about four months ago. So much fun.
Honda quality was superb from the late 80's and even better in the 90's
I had a black XBR in the 80s matched up to a pair of Goldie silencers! it sounded stunning!!
