Just found your channel - I am about to write my exam WSET Level 1 this coming Saturday, March 12 (the morning after my birthday!!!) - won't be able to have too much wine on my birthday since I need to study for the exam. Any advice regarding the setting of the room as I am doing it online from Canada (supervisor of the exam will be in London, UK). By the way, your video was very useful - thanks!
Hope your experience was better than mine was. The test questions were different and the proctor app kept screwing up (if you look it has a rating of 1 for use).
I personally have always preferred red wines at room temperature, but I’ve always heard reds should be “slightly chilled” 🤔 especially lighter reds like Pinot Noir, Beaujolais
I just took my test and the test was nothing like the ones on the syllabus or described here. The questions were more difficult and there were several which were not discussed , like what does it mean when a wine is cloudy ? The proctor exam app was faulty (which is why it has a rating of 1) it kept maKing me go back and restart the set up process and it totally turned off in the middle of this test. A very stressful situation for what should have been a calm and easy process.
Yikes it sounds quite stressful! I was considering to take an online test too, but decided I'm going to try to do an in-person test since I think the wine tasting portion is quite important (if I understand correctly, we'll be tasting various wines to learn a bit about major grapes).
