- Hi everyone! Welcome back to my art channel where today I am starting a new watercolour sketchbook! I bought this new watercolour sketchbook a while ago now but today I felt inspired to open it up and give it a try.
I also share a few ideas I have for those times when you want to draw but don't know what to draw or paint in your sketchbook so I really hope you find it helpful.

Lovely mallard! He could just waddle right off the page ❤ i actually bought one of these sketchbooks as well as the pentalic in my last order of supplies, thinking they might be inspiring to do some ink and wash sketches on vacation this summer. But i haven't tried them out yet. Sometimes I will buy a new art supply then avoid it for awhile because i get a bit intimidated with new and untried things. Maybe 2 months of owning new sketchbooks is long enough lol. I wasn't sure if id like the hannemuller. First impressions go to the pentalic for paper quality and the pockets added to the front and back cover. I think you would like it as well😁 have a great week sarah! Thank you Heather! I tend to do the same with new art supplies and end up with a drawer full of untried things but I am slowly getting around to trying some of them out! The pentalic sounds like a nice sketchbook and I have also been looking at the Paul Reubens one as well? Have a lovely weekend 😊🌸

Oh, I love this mallard! I am excited about your sketchbook art! Hmmm, giraffe comes to mind.. since I saw that giraffe I have been searching for a nice giraffe reference..lol. how about a camel? I had a hard time finding a clear and good pic of this animal too. Just an idea for a sketchbook...Its funny...I have been doing more work in my sketchbook than anything the past few months..I think I may get this sketchbook! Thanks for sharing! 🎨🦆💗💗

I always struggle with a sketchbook, I feel the need to have it absolutely perfect and visually pleasing. I make notes in mine all the time and often look back and think “what a mess” and start a new one 🙈
Thanks Amie! I had a lot of fun with this but I know what you mean about wanting to have a sketchbook look perfect! I have had many messy sketchbooks in the past but this one is going to be a compromise! One side for messy swatches and notes and the other side for more visually pleasing watercolour paintings! Btw, does this mean you are going to be doing watercolour? 😉😀

Have you considered painting some insects? I haven't got round to trying yet but I think they'll be a nice sketchbook page.
