God, I can't stop loving MW12's lighting and car details. Something about it just keeps me at awe for a game that old and that came out just before the PS4 and XOne
They're always genius at sounds. Even they reuse the old nfs era (mw and carbon) sounds for hot pursuit then remixed the sounds for a beautiful sound effects.
I mean, forza horizon 5 use the same engine sounds system (granular synthesis) but they still sounds a bit off. About time they'll need to hire the criterion sounds designer.
I actually enjoy the physics from MW12, the weight of every car feels different and unique, the way the body roll reacts, attention to detail of gear shifting between manual cars and dct cars, it's just amazing.. On the other hand playing 2015, payback , and heat feels like playing tamiya racing
MW12 would've been great if it had normal NFS progress. Having every car from the start kinda made the game pointless, still I liked it back then, way better handling than the new games.
@@BubbleDouble I think they could've kept the idea of having cars laying around since I think that was one of the best parts and actually made me explore the city outside of just racing, but make them unlockable from doing an event, instead of just locking that away for the Most Wanted list. Like just make them normal races, with harder ones the higher quality/rare it is, the Most Wanted cars have unique events anyways.
Alot of these are good, fantastic even. But my god, Hot Pursuit's Zonda Cinque hits soo different. The way the melody of the exhaust plays out, it's beyond god tier. I genuinely hope whoever recorded and mixed those sounds got a massive bonus, cause that shit's well deserved.

The best Criterion sounds are the fricking Hot Pursuit cutscenes' and UI sounds for me. They're so snappy, cinematic, futuristic and adrenaline-indulging as hell. If Vanessa Lorena Tate (HP2010 and MW2012 sound designer) returns for NFS Unbound, it'll be the endless joy for me.
Honorable mentions from MW 2012: (IMO) F1 LM, Venom GT Spyder, MC Stradale, Gallardo Performante Spyder & (I'm gonna get yelled at by the mw purists for this but idc) I6 M3 GTR (sounds better then 2015 & payback just sayin).
Totally agreed on some aspects, I think Rivals and a bit of 2015 did the materiasl really well. It was kinda after those games that it took a big nosedive, I don't hate Unbound but the cars feel so plasticky to me

0:45 The Best Sound :)
MW2012 is lowkey underrated
The Criterion games have their fair share of problems, but one area where they never miss is the car sounds
Reventon's roaring is literally my favourite
NFSHP Bugatti Veyron 👌
I love that sound
They're always genius at sounds. Even they reuse the old nfs era (mw and carbon) sounds for hot pursuit then remixed the sounds for a beautiful sound effects.

They did that in Burnout Paradise too, it's quite clear the Watson Revenge Racer sounds like NFSMW's Carrera GT!
@@miguelmoreno6990 and the Rossolini Tempesta sounding like a Gallardo
@KingVendrick18 ofc lol he was just saying Criterion reused the sounds from those games
I can't help but think that the Benz' exhaust sounds like a reciprocating saw that was bass boosted...
Nfs most wanted 2012..best nfs game
Never realised how deadly the tunnel sounds where in their games, they actually sound like a car going through a tunnel
In the last NFS games they don't sound like a real tunnel sound at all... NFS Most Wanted 2012 had the best tunnel sounds imo.
@@kwalletje99 I agree with this very much! 🔥❤

Quality and gameplay is one thing, But GOSH the sounds of cars in criterion Need for Speeds WAS INSANE, Lexus LFA in MW2012...
If mw2012 was named different it would be great game, but its not most wanted series
Need For Speed: Hard Drive would be perfect name for this game
Nah, people would have made fun of that name endessly lol
LFA and Zonda are pure perfection having absolutely ridiculous sounding engines
Those are some "music to ears" car sounds
Most wanted 2012 had some absolute bangers of car sounds
They a great company. Along with ea
Finally someone made a video on my favorite NFS car sounds
I wish forza sounded like this
I mean, forza horizon 5 use the same engine sounds system (granular synthesis) but they still sounds a bit off. About time they'll need to hire the criterion sounds designer.
I’d prefer both Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and Lexus LFA because the motor sounds makes me feel like I was dreaming about these cars.
I really like most wanted 2012. Underrated game.
I would cut the music off when you did that one race in the sesto elements
The Veyron SS was insane, the transmission whine made it sound like a fighter jet
Zonda cinque in NFS HP >>>
The 911 GT2 RS in Hot Pursuit is brutal. Espacially while holding nitro
Lexus LFA🥵🔥🔥

I like the Pagani's V12 sound. Criterion really did it right with this one.

I was expecting more "stututu"

The Hot Pursuit Zonda sounds a lot better than the M3 GTR
M3 gtr sound shit compared to zonda

the sound of the aventador in mw2012 is Just amazing
They've always been goated at making car sounds. Even in the burnout series, ESPECIALLY paradise. Paradise has such good sounds.

A little off topic, but on the McLaren F1 you can see the shine of the gold insulation under the spoiler when it pops up.
Since I heard how the Watson 25 V16 revenge sounded, I knew I couldn't be disappointed with how engines made by them sounded
