I talked him out of suicide multiple times, convinced him to go to therapy, helped nurse him back to health after he had knee surgery, helped him cope with his abusive family and was basically his only support system.... and then he cheated on me with my best friend at the time and left me for her.

heyheychels a 9 year age difference sounds like quite a bit when youre younger; however, the older you get, it doesn't seem as "in your face" for some reason... i'm not sure why - its weird! i remember dating a 38 year old man when i was around 22/23ish... that's a pretty big age gap, but it never felt like it because i've always been super mature for my age and i'm somewhat of an "old soul." but i think the majority of the time (and this ended up being the case in my relationship), the younger you are, the more the age gap becomes *majorly* apparent (i.e., they want to go to bed early/you want to stay up. you want to go out on the town/they'd rather stay in and watch a movie.. stuff like that) and it seems that things turn rather sour shortly thereafter ;(

I feel so related when you talk about guys. I've made some pretty bad decisions when it comes to my "significant other". My second ex was polish, and he had a pretty deluded idea of what being romantic was. My dad got diagnosed with cancer, and we knew he wasn't gonna make it, but we didn't know when exactly it was gonna happen, only that it was soon. Could've been a week, could've been 2 months, but it was happening. So following my dad's wishes of not stopping myself from living my life for his condition, I went to visit him as planned before I was aware how serious the situation was. And it might sound selfish, but I mean it, my dad almost forced me to do it, just like he forced my brother to go to Germany and carry on with his studying. So I went to fucking visit him in Istanbul (where he was as an exchange student) knowing that it was quite likely that my dad was gonna pass away while I was away. Shocker, 2 hours after I arrive, I got a call from my mum... Well, can you believe the mother fucker would complain constantly about me not being romantic enough? He basically bitched about me not sending him songs everyday on Facebook, or me not wanting to Skype everyday. To add a little to the mix, he was controlling, jealous, and pretty good at playing the victim. So good that when my dad passed, he couldn't keep his "feelings" aside to make sure that I knew how sad and devastating it was that i was leaving him to attend my dad's funeral... I got sick of the situation so I broke up, only to get a message from him a month after, telling me that he has cancer. At this point you might not be surprise, but the bitch was lying about it all the time and he fooled me for 3 weeks... Any how, writing this made me realize how much I wanna tell the story in a video in full detail lol

Before I say anything, I hope me commenting on this two years later doesn’t drudge up painful memories and make you relive this horrific experience all over again. If it does, please accept my apology. First off, I want to say how incredibly sorry I am for the loss of your father. He was clearly a selfless man and cared about you and your brother so much and wanted you both to live your lives. I’m sorry you lost your very obviously wonderful father. Secondly, I don’t have much to say about your ex because: 1) I don’t want to talk about that trash and 2) he doesn’t deserve any words, even if those words aren’t in his favour. I just can’t believe anyone would lie about such a horrible disease. Horrible is such an understatement, too. Cancer is fucking terrible. I lost both of my grandparents and my dog to that monster in the span of a year. It truly is the devil. I’m glad you left him because he doesn’t deserve you. You are clearly a wonderful and FORGIVING person. When he claimed he had cancer, you said he fooled you for three weeks which means you actually took the time to acknowledge him and help him. You are a better person than I. You are a better person than most. Never let that goodness leave your heart because people like you are the reason that I believe there’s still good in the world. omggg he sounds exactly like my recent ex boyfriend. I gave him so much and got nothing in return but he was my first and only love. He was extremely verbally/emotionally abusive. He almost hit me a couple of times, but thankfully restrained himself. I never once did him wrong and I was so faithful to him and I found him texting other girls on more than one occasion. But after he broke up with me I really realized my worth. I was so heartbroken and felt like I'd never love again and then I saw he had already moved on about one week after he dumped me and from there I just focused on myself and I fell in love with myself and now I can say that I love the person that I've become and I know that when the time comes and I meet someone special again that I can handle being in another committed relationship but I will never settle for anything less than I know I deserve.
I love your (storytime) videos! I have watched couple of them in a row now. I like how openly you share very personal and sometimes embarrassing stories. I find these very comfortable to watch, like "Yass, I'm not the only one and this shit happens to other people too". And I like especially your attitude towards these stories. Like you're not apologizing for the things that happened or regretting them. Well, I don't actually know how you feel about them, but what I sense in you is that you don't dwell on them and you accept that they are part of your life and these things do happen and people do make mistakes and they are in the past now. So my senior year of high school I fell in love with my best friends older brother. We started dating and I was head over heels. We worked together, spent every second together. I was so attached to this man I chose not to go to my top schools because they were too far away. I livid there at first since it was only an hour away but every second I wasn't in class I was with him. it was crazy how attached we were. the next semester I started commuting and working and spending every second I could with him. My school and my program was extremely intense but I neclegted it. I failed several gen. ed classes which brought down my gpa a lot. I wasn't able to get into the next program because I spent all my time in love and not studying. it's been a year now since we have broken up and my gpa is back up and hopefully I can get back into that program.
My previous boyfriend would also ignore to the point that once I was around friends I would talk non stop. My heart sort of sank when she mentioned that because it brought me back to that feeling of abandonment and neglect. I'm glad that relationship is long gone.

I can tell you exactly what happened. No mystery here. This is obviously a very beautiful woman. Her ex is remembering the good times they had together, specifically the sex. At the time however, as everyone knows, with people you are attracted too, once you move in them, the physical attraction starts to fade. This is especially true if you are living together in very close quarters, ie; sharing the same bathroom. So he is reminiscing, and wants her back, but at the time they were together, he seemed more interested in video games and beer. He was older then she was too, so you cannot just dismiss this as immaturity. As with the narrator, I also feel sympathy for whichever woman he happens to be with now. Doesn't sound like a person with much character.

My boyfriend of six months just broke up with me about a week ago over a stupid text message saying he needed space and i think it was cause i mentioned moving in together like a couple days before hand.. and he lives an hour away so literally almost the same situation as you, I would drive home at like 2 in the morning all the time and shit. But I literally begged for him not to leave and even went to his house and told him i was coming but he left cause he knew i was coming and then got pissed at me for "trying to force a conversation" even though I fucking deserved a face-to-face conversation not just a stupid text.. but anyway i left a letter i wrote in his room and he texted me later that day basically saying the same thing that he like just needs space and he's so stressed with his life right now and can't be with anyone, all that shit. and now i haven't talked to him since.. tried to text him one last time but got no reply so i'm just giving up and moving on with my life since thats what he wants to do. But yeah it just seems wicked similar to your situation haha cause he's legit the first guy i've ever loved and i'm also 19.. so weird lol but I wrote a song about him and put it up on youtube and facebook so hopefully he'll see it and realize what he's missing out on!
I just watched this and it reminded me so much of my life. I was 17 dating a guy that was 26, he never hardly talked to me or anything. Super lazy, but totally had me fooled. I ended up getting married when I was 18 March 2, 2013. Biggest mistake EVER. We never lived together until we were married. Everything went downhill from there. That's when I found out the real him. Never cared about my wellbeing, quit his job, I cleaned, cooked, and fixed up on the house all by myself. Finally August 2015, I told him I was done. Best decision of my life.

omggg he sounds exactly like my recent ex boyfriend. I gave him so much and got nothing in return but he was my first and only love. He was extremely verbally/emotionally abusive. He almost hit me a couple of times, but thankfully restrained himself. I never once did him wrong and I was so faithful to him and I found him texting other girls on more than one occasion. But after he broke up with me I really realized my worth. I was so heartbroken and felt like I'd never love again and then I saw he had already moved on about one week after he dumped me and from there I just focused on myself and I fell in love with myself and now I can say that I love the person that I've become and I know that when the time comes and I meet someone special again that I can handle being in another committed relationship but I will never settle for anything less than I know I deserve.

Well, I don't actually know how you feel about them, but what I sense in you is that you don't dwell on them and you accept that they are part of your life and these things do happen and people do make mistakes and they are in the past now.

So my senior year of high school I fell in love with my best friends older brother. We started dating and I was head over heels. We worked together, spent every second together. I was so attached to this man I chose not to go to my top schools because they were too far away. I livid there at first since it was only an hour away but every second I wasn't in class I was with him. it was crazy how attached we were. the next semester I started commuting and working and spending every second I could with him. My school and my program was extremely intense but I neclegted it. I failed several gen. ed classes which brought down my gpa a lot. I wasn't able to get into the next program because I spent all my time in love and not studying. it's been a year now since we have broken up and my gpa is back up and hopefully I can get back into that program.

I can tell you exactly what happened. No mystery here. This is obviously a very beautiful woman. Her ex is remembering the good times they had together, specifically the sex. At the time however, as everyone knows, with people you are attracted too, once you move in them, the physical attraction starts to fade. This is especially true if you are living together in very close quarters, ie; sharing the same bathroom.
So he is reminiscing, and wants her back, but at the time they were together, he seemed more interested in video games and beer. He was older then she was too, so you cannot just dismiss this as immaturity. As with the narrator, I also feel sympathy for whichever woman he happens to be with now. Doesn't sound like a person with much character.

omggg Jessi this story is soooo similar to my life right now. My boyfriend of six months just broke up with me about a week ago over a stupid text message saying he needed space and i think it was cause i mentioned moving in together like a couple days before hand.. and he lives an hour away so literally almost the same situation as you, I would drive home at like 2 in the morning all the time and shit. But I literally begged for him not to leave and even went to his house and told him i was coming but he left cause he knew i was coming and then got pissed at me for "trying to force a conversation" even though I fucking deserved a face-to-face conversation not just a stupid text.. but anyway i left a letter i wrote in his room and he texted me later that day basically saying the same thing that he like just needs space and he's so stressed with his life right now and can't be with anyone, all that shit. and now i haven't talked to him since.. tried to text him one last time but got no reply so i'm just giving up and moving on with my life since thats what he wants to do. But yeah it just seems wicked similar to your situation haha cause he's legit the first guy i've ever loved and i'm also 19.. so weird lol but I wrote a song about him and put it up on youtube and facebook so hopefully he'll see it and realize what he's missing out on!

I just watched this and it reminded me so much of my life. I was 17 dating a guy that was 26, he never hardly talked to me or anything. Super lazy, but totally had me fooled. I ended up getting married when I was 18 March 2, 2013. Biggest mistake EVER. We never lived together until we were married. Everything went downhill from there. That's when I found out the real him. Never cared about my wellbeing, quit his job, I cleaned, cooked, and fixed up on the house all by myself. Finally August 2015, I told him I was done. Best decision of my life.
Wow. I'm in the same situation...older guy, neglected me, I didn't notice cus I was naive. I moved across the country with him and all the sudden he is acting distant/basically making me break up with him. Currently getting out of the relationship right now and moving back home.
