It's a MIDI output, via USB. You can attach it to your computer, iPhone or iPad, and have thousands more sounds. There are a lot of great IOS synthesizer apps, which are free, or very low cost, and sound amazing. I believe that the same is true for Android devices, but I don't have much experience with them. In case you don't know, MIDI is just a standard for music data transmission. When you press a key on the piano, it sends a MIDI message with the channel, note, the velocity (how hard you hit the note). When something receives it, it reads the data and plays the proper note. That's an overly-simplified explanation, but there are much better explanations on the internet. Basically, you can use this keyboard, to control something else, including another keyboard.
