I love the aesthetic of your spreadsheets. It's permanently altered the look of all my own spreadsheets I do for work, lol. I love seeing all the changes you do every year. One thing I recently added to mine was a world map that highlights the countries I've read from. One of my goals is reading a book from every country in the world. Took a lot of fiddling to get it pretty but it worked out. I love discovering those hidden features in spreadsheets.
Wow Ali this is truly amazing! I've downloaded the free trackers before but this is next level and I think it's great you're charging for it. Sure, people can say "oh I can just make my own," but anyone who uses Excel daily knows how time consuming and tedious it can be to make multiple tabs, columns, rows, link them all with formulas, make everything cohesive and easy to read, make a graphs chart with all the data, and make it pretty! You've outdone yourself. I'm happy to buy one this year and support your work and time! 😊

I don't necessarily need a spreadsheet for reading but as someone who keeps track of some stuff in spreadsheets, I'm gonna watch this and see what I can take away to improve on my own spreadsheets! EDIT: I actually might take away some of this for a reading tracker, or maybe a more general "media tracker" to track stuff like TV shows, movies, and books too. Tho I definitely would like to increase how much I read, I didn't keep up with reading very much in the latter half of last year and maybe keeping track of it would help me to do it more often lol EDIT2: omg you can do progress bars in google sheets, I never knew that! But a lot of this is definitely more complex than I would go, but might work for others! (my personal philosophy with any system I make now is that it needs to be simple enough to not overwhelm me and not feel like more of a chore to keep up with than anything lol)

I think you are charging a more than fair price for the work you have put in. I just spent the last hour looking up the COUNTIF and COUNTIFS formulas to add to bits of information to the owned library page. Most places would charge at least what you are charging for an hours work! Thank you for the encouragement to figure things out though as I have now added a table to show me how many of each format I own and also a table to show me how many of each formula I have read.

I absolutely love the additions and changes to this spreadsheet and will definitely buy it. If you're taking suggestions for next year, G (from the BookRoast) has a chart that converts the final CAWPILE score into a star rating. I combined that with your sheet from last year, because that makes it easier for me to add the star ratings to my Goodreads and Storygraph pages. Again, thanks so much for offering this!!
This converts the CAWPILE into a star rating as well (it's just the average!) If that is what you mean? You can move the decimals it provides if you only wanna see a single star (like 4 stars) instead of like 4.7 stars

Girl, I’d pay 10 for this. ExcelGoogle spreadsheets are a pain in the butt with all the formulas and I swear I would pay someone to do all my required excel/spreadsheet work for me. Does anyone know how to sort the owned library page alphabetically by author? Every time I try to sort the sheet by that column, it breaks owned genre/owned colour charts on the side. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong 😅
You can select the information (click the first title, excluding the header!) and drag over to the last thing (special edition on the template). Make sure all the information is highlighted (quick tip is to highlight the top line and then hit CTRL+Shift+Down arrow to select all below). Go to Data -> Sort Range -> Advanced range sorting and then choose to sort the range by Column C. Let me know if that helps!
This is such a great spreadsheet! A few things I've noticed so far: 1. G's original CAWPILE rating system is 1-10; yours calculates ratings based on 1-5. Pretty easy to adapt to but wanted to give a heads up to anyone in the comments. 2. The average monthly ratings on the monthly stats tab (CAWPILE version) isn't pulling anything into it. I have 3 books input and it's not giving me any average rating. 3. May be a preference thing but I adjusted the days to read calculations to default to 1 instead of 0 if I started and finished something in the same day.
Hi! I updated the CAWPILE average on the template, thank you for noticing!!! This is technically the 1-10 system, but I didn't include the star converter so they would have to check G's conversion chart if they are inserting a 1-5 star elsewhere. Unless I am misunderstanding your first comment. Thanks for using!
I found the free version a couple of weeks ago through a Google search, but I just bought the new purple edition through your Etsy store last night after I watched this video. The new version is better, and definitely worth the money! 😃
UPDATES I will list any updates or changes that need made if you downloaded the template before the update date: 12/29/22 @ 8:18PM EST The Total Series number in the Series Tracker OP3 formula was changed to =COUNTIF(B$5:$B,"*") 12/29/22 @ 10:07pm est The Finished Series number in the Series Tracker OP3 formula was changed to =COUNTIF(T:T,"Completed") 1/2/23 @ 9:02AM EST For CAWPILE version, on the Monthly Stats page, the average was not computing. The formula had =IFERROR(AVERAGEIF('Books Read'!$F$2:$F,"January",Rating)) This was changed to =IFERROR(AVERAGEIF('Books Read'!$F$2:$F,"January",CAWPILERating)) All equations for each month need the “Rating” changed to “CAWPILERating” in the formula if you want to update this change. 1/4/23 @ 8:21PM EST If using Series Tracker Option 2, the formula for total number series counted at the top needs changed to =COUNTUNIQUE(D6:D) It was reading =COUNTUNIQUE(E6:E) which was incorrect. 1/8/23 @ 9:28AM EST I went in and reset the Habit Tracker OP1 calendar colors after realizing many dates had reverted to a purple color. If you are using the GREEN, BLUE, or BLACK template, this likely is the case. To fix this, open the original template. Find the Habit Tracker OP1 Tab and right click. Go to Copy to -> Existing Spreadsheet. Find your Reading Spreadsheet and copy it there. It will now be the last tab in your spreadsheet. Drag it to where you want and copy your current data from your original tab over. (You can click and drag to select multiple data) Delete the original tab and rename the copied habit tab. Very sorry for this inconvenience! It is one issue I can’t seem to troubleshoot enough to figure out why it happens.

Awesome spreadsheet 🎉 One question; for the Cawpile version, the average is usually converted to a star rating (G has 2 versions with or without half stars) so to not have it get too long, you could add a column for the star rating.
That's a great way to handle diversity because not all of us are tracking the same *kinds* of diversity all the time, and this is pretty flexible. I'm currently trying to read from different geographical LOCATIONS, and I think that could be fit in there, too. This whole thing is amazing and I'm about to head over to buy it. (Regardless of my upcoming questions, to be clear.) But I do have two questions -- for you or for the community. 1) Am I the only one in the reading universe who reads a lot of non-fiction? 😂 I look at all the book trackers, and everyone's reading journal flip-throughs, etc., and it seems like non-fiction is rare or nonexistent. I'm sure I can add non-fiction categories to this as genres, but fiction vs. nonfictio is a stat I like to track, much like physical books vs. audiobooks, so I guess I'm going to have to try to figure that one out. (I'm SO bad at spreadsheets. Google Sheets seems to play nicer for me, but in Excel I literally manage to break things just entering data. 🙄 This is why I'm happy to buy your spreadsheet -- 'cause I sure as heck don't want to have to build it. Thank you!) 2) How are people handling series that are...of indeterminate length, I guess? Example: I've read all the Genevieve Lenard books that are available to date. However, I know there's an upcoming one and, as far as I know, the author doesn't have immediate plans to *stop* writing them. So this series is finished...and also unfinished. 🤔 How do people typically mark those?

The Finished Series number in the Series Tracker OP3 formula was changed to
=COUNTIF(T:T,"Completed")

For CAWPILE version, on the Monthly Stats page, the average was not computing. The formula had
=IFERROR(AVERAGEIF('Books Read'!$F$2:$F,"January",Rating))
This was changed to
=IFERROR(AVERAGEIF('Books Read'!$F$2:$F,"January",CAWPILERating))
All equations for each month need the “Rating” changed to “CAWPILERating” in the formula if you want to update this change.

If using Series Tracker Option 2, the formula for total number series counted at the top needs changed to =COUNTUNIQUE(D6:D)
It was reading =COUNTUNIQUE(E6:E) which was incorrect.

I went in and reset the Habit Tracker OP1 calendar colors after realizing many dates had reverted to a purple color. If you are using the GREEN, BLUE, or BLACK template, this likely is the case. To fix this, open the original template. Find the Habit Tracker OP1 Tab and right click. Go to Copy to -> Existing Spreadsheet. Find your Reading Spreadsheet and copy it there.
It will now be the last tab in your spreadsheet. Drag it to where you want and copy your current data from your original tab over. (You can click and drag to select multiple data) Delete the original tab and rename the copied habit tab.
Very sorry for this inconvenience! It is one issue I can’t seem to troubleshoot enough to figure out why it happens.

One question; for the Cawpile version, the average is usually converted to a star rating (G has 2 versions with or without half stars) so to not have it get too long, you could add a column for the star rating.

That's a great way to handle diversity because not all of us are tracking the same *kinds* of diversity all the time, and this is pretty flexible. I'm currently trying to read from different geographical LOCATIONS, and I think that could be fit in there, too.
This whole thing is amazing and I'm about to head over to buy it. (Regardless of my upcoming questions, to be clear.) But I do have two questions -- for you or for the community.
1) Am I the only one in the reading universe who reads a lot of non-fiction? 😂 I look at all the book trackers, and everyone's reading journal flip-throughs, etc., and it seems like non-fiction is rare or nonexistent. I'm sure I can add non-fiction categories to this as genres, but fiction vs. nonfictio is a stat I like to track, much like physical books vs. audiobooks, so I guess I'm going to have to try to figure that one out. (I'm SO bad at spreadsheets. Google Sheets seems to play nicer for me, but in Excel I literally manage to break things just entering data. 🙄 This is why I'm happy to buy your spreadsheet -- 'cause I sure as heck don't want to have to build it. Thank you!)
2) How are people handling series that are...of indeterminate length, I guess? Example: I've read all the Genevieve Lenard books that are available to date. However, I know there's an upcoming one and, as far as I know, the author doesn't have immediate plans to *stop* writing them. So this series is finished...and also unfinished. 🤔 How do people typically mark those?
