john fogerty(the songwriter) said that the bad moon rising's meaning was that the apocalypse is coming, through the Vietnam war and civil society losing our humanity. i used to think it was about people acting like lunatics during the full moon. but the great thing about rock music is that songs mean different things to different people. unfortunate son, have you ever seen the rain are really good. honestly all CCR's songs are good, so you can't pick a bad song.
Love Creedence! Please check out I Put a Spell on You (Woodstock 1969), Heard it Through the Grapevine (long version), Fortunate Son, and so many others. Thanks for the great reaction! ☮️💙😎
I was there @ Woodstock. There will never be another one like that. So many terrific artists who are gone now. But their music will survive forever. "Out my back door" is a particular favorite. It really encompasses what an acid trip is like.
This song was part of the soundtrack to An American Werewolf In London. I saw it in the theater when it first came out in 1981. Amazing special effects for the day. I believe it won an Oscar for best makeup.
Love CCR, I was a teenager when they were popular. My grandson (12) is into vinyl so I bought him a CCR album, his favorite is Fortunate Son but mine will always be Have you Ever Seen the Rain. Wonderful rabbit hole to go down and John Fogerty music when he went out on his own
CCR always leaves us wanting more, except for long version of Heard It Through the Grapevine. Do us a favor and make that your next Creedence song....Long Version will make you've crazy! Enjoy!
I read somewhere that ‘bad moon rising’ was taken from astrology terminology, that many people were exploring. They used to ask someone new, ‘what’s your sign’. - More CCR to react to….Heard It Through the Grapevine, Fortunate Son, Proud Mary, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Looking Out My Backdoor. That should be enough to get you started. 🎶🎶🎸🎶🎶🎉👏🏻😎🎶🎶🎶
I ❤ Creedence. I never have to be in a certain mood to listen to some CCR. If you want a LONG Creedence song, "I Heard it Through the Grapevine", the long album.version. They have a huge catalog, and it's all golden. "Up Around the Bend" is fun, and lighthearted...great roadtrip song.
Cliff, This song was in the movie a American werewolf in London. Oh you will freak if you listen to Paul Harvey "if I were the devil" CCR run through the jungle "
So sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully you will be able to again enjoy this song & others that remind you of her. Definitely is rough when it's fresh.
"I'll stand by you" The Pretenders . looked after my mother as she desended into dementia. Played this song at her funeral, 14 years ago it still moves me .
I’m, so happy, I’ve been able to enjoy music from the 50’s to the present. Music to dance too, music to feel, and music to make love too. Music is a great communicator ❤️❤️❤️. Thank you Mijo for bringing us such great content. 👏👏👏👵🏼 Gmaw
A couple that always bring me back are Dan Fogel erg "Nether Lands" and John Denver "Rocky Mountain High" both songs from 70's and both singer songwriters . In my opinion they are both masterpieces
Stepping out of rap and into our world will literally transform your life. Congrats! But don’t worry about this song…when I was young the song freaked me out too! lol!
This is going way back, my era❤️❤️❤️1- The Penguin’s- Earth Angel. 2- The Cadillacs- Gloria. 3-Temptation’s -My Girl. 4 Chuck Berry-Roll over Beethoven. ❤️❤️👵🏼
Bad moon - Vietnam was on , 18 year olds went if their daddies didn’t have lots of money, bad occurrences bad politics the news has always been frightening ☮️
I grew up hearing and appreciating so much Pink Floyd. Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here and Sorrow will always be in regular rotation alongside Grunge, Alt. Rock, Metal and weirdly enough, OG Gangsta Rap.
I was in Junior high in the early 70's. I used to ride my bike down a very busy street to a department store to buy the latest CCR album, vinyl of course. John Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford are still around; Forgerty's brother Tom unfortunately is not. One of my 5 favorite bands of all time.
I literally stole my Mom's CCR's Top 40 hits LP. They have so many bangers. Midnight Special is one of my favorites. Great reaction and Peace out Cliff ☮️ ✌️ 🙏 As someone suggested April Wine...Roller extended version you won't be disappointed. You just got out of the hospital..I hope you're doing OK ❤
Despite the Louisiana swamp-rock sound, they are from El Sobrante / Pinole (East Bay Area) California. Friend of mine grew up 2 houses down from John Fogerty.
I still have this album. The first album I ever bought was CCR's Bayou Country. I was 15 and used my babysitting money, haha! I would suggest some favorites but the list would be too long. These boys sound amazingly like authentic swampers but they are actually Califoria boys
One of my favorite bands of the 80s & 90s was Violent Femmes. They are probably best known for Blister in the Sun, but Gnarls Barkley also covered their song Gone Daddy Gone. My favs though are Kiss Off and American Music.
Hey Cliff, just found your channel today (from watching Weird Al reactions of all things) and love everything you’re doing, I’ve had a blast already. It would be amazing if you did a reaction to Coheed and Cambria. If you’re a lyricist and into scifi then you will appreciate these guys. They have almost a dozen albums, all but one being part of one continuous story. I would recommend Gravity’s Union, Domino the Destitute, The Pavilion, or 2’s My Favorite 1. Check em out even if you can’t get to a reaction (and read into where the songs fit in the story too), it’ll be worth it. Keep doing what you’re doing!
For some reason it didn’t depress anybody. It was just a fun, jangly tune about the end of the world. A high school friend of mine walked me through the whole thing as to how it relates to Bible prophecies. Whatever! It’s a spooky song that comes around every Halloween.
May I suggest some other great groups and songs like: Little River Band 'A Long Way There' or the Ozark Mountain Daredevils 'If You Want To Get To Heaven' . Thanks, Be Well.
Try out CCR's I Heard It Through The Grape Vine totally the best version ever and it goes on and on Love your program its OUTSTANDNG. Hope your feeling better love your positivity
Hey Cliff are you looking to hear classic rock? Or how about some classic R&B? Luther Vandross “Anyone who ever had a heart” or “superstar/until you come back to me “ which is too long to request on your lives but is beautiful . He passed in 2005 but was one of my absolute favorites when I was a teen in the 80’s… check him out
This is the music my generation and the one before listened to. That being Gen X and the Boomers. Have you ever considered what the Greatest Generation listened to? Did that in any way help mold them into being the Greatest Generation?
"Born on the Bayou", "Fortunate Son", "Have You Ever Seen the Rain", three great ones by CCR!!!
Have You Ever Seen the Rain is a must listen 😊
john fogerty(the songwriter) said that the bad moon rising's meaning was that the apocalypse is coming, through the Vietnam war and civil society losing our humanity.
i used to think it was about people acting like lunatics during the full moon.
but the great thing about rock music is that songs mean different things to different people.
unfortunate son, have you ever seen the rain are really good. honestly all CCR's songs are good, so you can't pick a bad song.
i used to think it was about vampires. Now I think John Fogerty is a prophet.
Well, we've definitely lost our humanity.. 😔 😕 😔 😢 💔
The word "lunatic" comes directly from the idea of the moon making people behave oddly.
If this CCR song freaked you out, wait until you hear "Fortunate Son."
In the year twenty five, twenty five will blow you away.
"There's a bathroom on the right". LOL
Thanks for the chuckle!
I was going to say that same thing 😂😂😂😂
This song came out in 1969, and is considered one of their best. Unfortunately they were broken up before 75.
creedence clearwater revival lookin' out my back door
Steppenwolf “Born To Be Wild “, “Magic Carpet Ride”, “The Pusher”, etc. original heavy metal rock. You won’t regret it 💙👵🏼☮️
Love Creedence! Please check out I Put a Spell on You (Woodstock 1969), Heard it Through the Grapevine (long version), Fortunate Son, and so many others. Thanks for the great reaction! ☮️💙😎

This song was part of the soundtrack to An American Werewolf In London. I saw it in the theater when it first came out in 1981. Amazing special effects for the day. I believe it won an Oscar for best makeup.
CCR was big influence on the music in the latter part of the VietNam War.
It's a history lesson, you will hear this in Vietnam movies. Ccr did some anti war music because of the tumultuous times. Equal rights, war, etc
John Fogerty is a veteran.
Oh man, you’ve heard CCR EVERYWHERE!! Movies, Commercials, TV, Sports Events, literally everywhere.
American Werewolf in London had this song in it
CCR as always 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love CCR, I was a teenager when they were popular. My grandson (12) is into vinyl so I bought him a CCR album, his favorite is Fortunate Son but mine will always be Have you Ever Seen the Rain. Wonderful rabbit hole to go down and John Fogerty music when he went out on his own

Lovin' the Cliff Classics!
My mom always thought the lyrics were 'there's a bathroom on the right'! I guess it was good road trip music!
CCR always leaves us wanting more, except for long version of Heard It Through the Grapevine. Do us a favor and make that your next Creedence song....Long Version will make you've crazy! Enjoy!

Even after growing up in this era, I can’t help but be reminded of Supernatural! 😂
Supernatural knows good music, you know Dean turns this one up... unless things are too hairy at the time!!
I ❤ Creedence. I never have to be in a certain mood to listen to some CCR.

CCR music is threaded throughout films from the 70s on . They are about the most iconic American Rock n Roll band ever
Old school banger
I hear ya, I made the mistake of listening to this a few weeks ago, then my mom passed away last week 😢
So sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully you will be able to again enjoy this song & others that remind you of her. Definitely is rough when it's fresh.

Songs like this tell why Gen Jones (1955-65 cohort of Boomer) and elder X-ers are the way we are.😏 #WhatUpDoe
Swamp Rock! ☮️💙😎
Every generation feels it's the end 😮
Bad moon on the rise just means the moon he sees is a bad omen and fears what it means
"there's a bathroom on the rights" .... my sister used to sing this all the time 😆😆😆
Run Through the Jungle.
Cliff, this song has been in 1000s of movies and commercials. So many covers. You have absolutely heard it.
Stepping out of rap and into our world will literally transform your life. Congrats! But don’t worry about this song…when I was young the song freaked me out too! lol!

A "bad moon" is an omen of bad things to come. This song was in a werewolf movie called "An American Werewolf in London".
April Wine- Roller! 70's rock at one of it's finest, also Montrose- Rock Candy. 70's Sammy Hager before Van Halen.
Yes Roller extended version 😊
I grew up hearing and appreciating so much Pink Floyd. Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here and Sorrow will always be in regular rotation alongside Grunge, Alt. Rock, Metal and weirdly enough, OG Gangsta Rap.

Yessss more CCR of my youth 60s 70s. Try some of their swamp like songs. John’s voice is perfect for them. Keep on chooglin. Susie Q .
Many people joke that it sounds like he is saying "there's a bathroom on the right".
Despite the Louisiana swamp-rock sound, they are from El Sobrante / Pinole (East Bay Area) California. Friend of mine grew up 2 houses down from John Fogerty.
Of course when we first heard this on old scratchy AM radio stations it sounded like he was saying Theres a Bathroom on the right.
❤❤❤
I still have this album. The first album I ever bought was CCR's Bayou Country. I was 15 and used my babysitting money, haha! I would suggest some favorites but the list would be too long. These boys sound amazingly like authentic swampers but they are actually Califoria boys
You may have heard it in the "American Werewolf in London" movie.
At quick look at your reactions I don't any Molly Hatchet. You give them a listen. Flirtin with Diaster is a good one. Thanks for your reactions
