I only got a few rounds of this guy in before I had to get ready for work, but man I’m loving it! I’m doing a Ac10 with 2 LPPC’s, but your’s seems pretty solid too! My first few rounds against burst damage types went really well with good twist timing on my part, but I was rolled pretty comfortably by some XLPL and MG types. I’m glad there’s a weakness in a build that could otherwise seem OP
It's a lot of fun! I'm trying out the big MRM + snub right now. I'll give the more DPS build with AC10 + LPPCs too. Glad you're having fun! Happy Thanksgiving!
Have totally no idea why your channel is not recommended; just stumbled upon by searching Onyx review. Nice content and a good job on presenting mech summary after games. It would be great to give a quick look at the quirks.
Was just about to say, extremely XL-safe mech, especially with that shield. I liked the 2 snubs, so I kept those but dropped the LB10 to an LB2. Would've ran just an LB20 or just a heavy gauss if they gave it one more arm slot...
LB2X seems like too much facetime, which means you either can't twist as much or you won't be doing as much damage in between twists. The LB10X did make it pretty slow though. I've been trying a missile build with 2snubs. I'll post that sometime soon.
@@supatim101 Nice, that could be interesting. The LB2-X is more just to be able to poke, I shoot it when I can, usually once or twice, and every time I fire the snubs it's also being fired.
Worth a try. The mech actually seems pretty versatile. My only hesitation is that weapons with more facetime means you can't start your twist as quickly, and get your shield up. But your mileage may vary.
@@supatim101 perhaps, but going LPL + Gauss or UAC10 also means you can fight better from further back, letting you enhance durability by not having to expose your back and right side in a brawl and letting you use cover as well.
If ammo explodes in the torso you will lose the torso. If you lose the torso, you die because of XL engine. In general, legs are the safest place for ammo. Hardly anyone goes for legs in quick play, outside of lights.
That was some solid shielding in the first match, really showed off what this thing can do.

i wonder if placing both leg ammo bins in the right leg would help with potential ammo explosion risks
When I see this centurion with shield, I don't shoot the shield for some reason. Just saying maybe you can save some armor points from the shield.

The XL 255 is the same weight as the 250..
Oops. Well, use the 255. I should have double checked the build, but I'm pretty sure this was what MPG was using.

why would you put ammo in the legs? that's the part that can be shot off. move the ammo and case to the torsos. if a leg goes,, no problemo.
