I like the American McGee's Alice more than Madness returns
Such a fun obscured hack n slash title. I remember this game grabbing my attention due to the fact it’s Alice in Wonderland themed. As a result, I’ve gotten it for Christmas for my Xbox 360. Gotta say, it was heavily fun and replayable, but a shame the outfits with buff abilities like teeth for health or Hysteria Mode spam are locked behind DLC. Anyway, sadly, I can’t play it on my 360 that now finally has the RROD, nor on my Xbox One that needs a new power cord. However; I am playing it on both PC and Steam Deck. NGL, it’s great to play on PC, but it does have some slight issues where the game will lock up out of nowhere and you have no choice but to reset your PC since you can’t use the force quit command. As for Steam Deck, I have to disable one effect to be able to play the game since whenever I shrink, the screen becomes black since the shrink atmosphere detail hasn’t been improved on the Deck. So, now, shrinking just keeps the atmosphere normal, but with Hysteria mode, the surroundings are regular color instead of Hatred’s style of gray and blood color, except Alice. Anyway, I hope it does get improved for the Deck, especially since it feels off not to see the gray and blood detail with Hysteria Mode.
The PS3 can run The last of us, uncharted 3, God of War ascension, Killzone 3. But this, This game is too much 😁 that's way the PS3 version is missing textures and effects.

I think it has something to do with EA. American McGee said they couldn't even shorten this game because of the delay EA gave.
That's because 1st Party devs had the time to utilize the PS3's Cell Processor at it's full advantage. 3rd Party devs however would just use the Cell's PPE & the mediocre RSX GPU. thus why most PS3 ports don't look nearly as good as the XB360's.

At first glance, it seems like the 360 version can keep up with the PC but once the PhysX stuff pops up, the console can't keep up, it's a great effort and still a fun way to play the game + it comes with the first game bundled whether you get it digitally or physically unlike the PC which no longer offers the Complete Edition. Plus the 360 version is on the backwards compatible list of the Series X and it looks and runs great on it.
The PS3 version... I mean, I think we can all see what went wrong. Blurry, missing grass textures, simplified water, lower quality assets, almost no use of PhysX... avoid this port if you can. I guess EA couldn't be bothered to work with the Cell for this game.
The only reason I am playing the PS3 right now is because a friend owns a copy and I have a modded ps3. I just ripped it to the console and gave it back to him.
The PS3 version also did something weird during Alice's fall into Wonderland. For me, the physics on her hair and clothing kept momentarily resetting into a static position as though the was standing still during the fall. If that doesn't further prove that the PS3 version sucks, I don't know what will lmao

I like the lighting for the PS3 but I’m familiar with the Xbox 360 but the windows vers does look more detailed

Not gonna lie, play it on PC makes me "can't go back", keyboard and mouse just make the combat a lot easier, now I don't even wanna touch my controller lol

I just took some screenshots of the ps3 version running in the real hardware to compare, as on screen it doesn't look bad as in this video, and yes it does look as better as the xbox360 version, why on these kinda videos ps3 looks more bad than that actually it is?

the game is no longer on steam now you can get it from origin store for pc version
@@caleb6513 Actually, it’s back on Steam. The only downside is that in order to get the DLC, you need to redeem a code in EA’s Origin Store.

@@whispersmusic6173 console hardware will always hold back a game. look at console games in 2007 and then look at Crysis 1. best example I can give. Alice 1 came out on consoles like 12 years after pc version came out

Its not. Just depends on your PC build. Physx is demanding also so unless you’re running a decent build you should have it off.
