Here watching 👀. Always enjoy your finds and Thank you..nice nickle and never seen a key like that Awesome..cap gun to awesome
Thanks a lot for watching this one, Tom. Glad you enjoyed it! ATB Greg
Thanks for suffering through the heat and hard ground to bring us another awesome episode! Good bunch of relics, and like you say, you know the history of them to make them real "treasures". If only they could talk! Stay cool and hydrated!
Thursday morning routine. Shower, coffee and finding america. Inlove that lock plate and spoon. Inlove finding stuff like that. Great video.
Thanks so much Randy! Always appreciate you guys watching each week! ATB Greg
Always a pleasure seeing your videos
Cool hunt thanks!!!!!
Hi Greg , well it was hot and dry but still some nice finds and photographs and it may seem strange but my favourite find was the smoke house lock cover a lovely little piece of history with great patina , hope it cools down for you soon and you get some moisture into the ground , great video as usual best wishes Rob .
Thanks Rob and I enjoyed finding that lock cover as well. I don't find them very often and it was nice to have enough of the design to able to ID it properly. Looking forward to your next video and can't wait to see what else you find on your new permission. Hope you are able to find some nice old things there. Looks promising! Take care and ATB Greg
Nice hunting in the heat, Greg. Tell Chris we all said hello!
Thanks Rich and I will do that! Hopefully, next month he'll be able to get out some if it cools down. ATB Greg
Another great hunt Greg! I sometimes wonder when I'm walking around what might be under my feet. You never know.
I know that feeling! Thanks a lot for watching this one. Glad you enjoyed it! ATB Greg
Great video my friend
Thank you 👍 and I appreciate you watching this one. Take care and ATB Greg
I agree with you Greg, I never give up when it comes to metal detecting especially when I go back to my favorite spots that I've pounded in the past. I really like those cool finds in this video.
Been watching your videos for months now. Just now subscribed! Good job!
Thanks JM! I really appreciate you subbing the channel and glad you've enjoyed watching my episodes. Take care and ATB Greg
Hello Greg, very nice finds on this adventure. My favorites were the thimble, dragon head key and the lock cover. I wish we could send you our rain clouds to loosen up the soil as we have record rain this season. Your mystery find looks like something industrial, no idea. Stay safe and God Bless. 👏👍😀
Again Another great video.I look forward for Thursdays. Take Care.
Thanks so much Gary and I'm very glad you enjoy the episodes each Thursday! ATB Greg
Thank you so much for digging that lock slide. I dug what looks to be a lapel pin with the same logo on it, and my research turned up nothing. Can't wait to look it up
That is great Benny and glad that helped you out. Your lapel pin sounds like an amazing find! Thanks for watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Awesome 👍
Those were some pretty neat finds!
Thanks a lot Darin! I was pretty pleased with what I was able to find this past weekend. Glad you enjoyed watching this one! ATB Greg
@@FindingAmerica I enjoy watching them all. Probably one of my top detecting channels I watch. I love history and like that you always throw in some history on your finds.
Great hunt Greg!!
You are a true metal detector
Thanks very much for that Leo! ATB Greg
I wonder what the grill was for at the foot of that woman in the old car?---We haven't had a watzit for a while, I'm looking forward to seeing what comes in!---Yep, "better than a bottlecap"!---What a great way to close out the session, with those wonderful photographs.
People would stow their luggage on the running boards especially if they owned a car with a rear rumble seat. That was an accessory that was used to keep the luggage in place while driving. Glad you liked the photos at the end. I love those old portrait style pictures as they really help bring our past to life. I thought it was time to put them at the end of an episode. Hopefully, people like seeing them as I would like to run more of them from time to time. Thanks for watching this one. ATB Greg
Nice work Greg!! My guess for your mystery item is a down spout bracket for an older house gutter system🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for your help with this one, Bob and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
When hunting in the early morning dew covered grass, remember to empty and dry out the moisture from under the coil cover, its been known to cause false signals.
Appreciate you watching this one, Larry
Mystery item looks like a rocker bearing housing gregg
Thanks for your help with this one, Danny and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
I think the mystery item is a pipe clamp of some type. Happy hunting Greg!
Thanks for your help with that one, Greg and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Great video !! The mystery find id the body half of a carrier bearing mount. They are to support the middle of a driveshaft on longer vehicles, such as trucks/
That was an awesome looking button. Never seen that design. And killer key! I only ever found a few old Yale keys.
Body mounting bracket for a carrier bearing.
Thanks for your help with this one, Donald and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Twisted metal piece is not off of fence but is the cable they used back then which connected to the lightning rods at roof top and ran into the ground. I have the same material on my barn here in Indiana.
I appreciate the help with it Dennis. I do know that this piece came from the original fence that went along the driveway there as I found a few pieces cut off just above ground level and still posted in the ground after finding this piece. Thanks so much for watching each week! Take care and ATB Greg
Cool foil label, I found one similar a couple of months ago 😁
Very cool! I have found a few of them over the years especially at this location. Thanks so much watching Jerry! Take care and ATB Greg
You’re right. That depth setting in audio has really been a game changer on places I’ve already swung. I doubt I’d have tried it until I saw how great it’s been doing for you! Good luck out there!
So glad I was able to help you with that, Joey. That one adjustment has really been a game changer for me as well. Thanks so much for watching! ATB Greg
Great hunt! The thimble was unique to me with the stations. And I don’t think I knew about the two hole button having a wire shank. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Steven and I actually found one of those two holes with the wire shank still on it in a past episode. Just a neat little tidbit of information to have. :) Appreciate you watching this one! ATB Greg
Nice hunt Greg. I sent you a photo of what your Eastlake piece is. It is actually an escutcheon from an ebonized teardrop drawer pull.
Thanks for that Kelly and now I know exactly where that one was used. I love finding those early Eastlake pieces. If I had an Arts and Crafts house, it would be wall to wall Eastlake hardware. Thanks for you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
@@FindingAmerica The, early Victorian black walnut pieces, and tiger oak are my faves. My bedroom is early black walnut Victorian, my living room mostly tiger oak pieces, I have a couple of Eastlake pieces too.
I absolutely agree with you Greg. Dig it all and you'll find some amazing things but that's probably the reason my car looks like a scrap yard. As far as the mystery find is concerned it looks like a carrier thing for a bearing. I absolutely love finding a sewing circle I was lucky enough to locate one on a property from the 1840s. There was a silver symbol three brass or copper thimbles. As well as three needles and a plethora of buttons.
Scrap yard...me, too.
@@valerieloeffler6174 it's such a mess 😂
Once again some cool finds Greg .. That spike you found you sure that doesn't go to a wrought Iron fence didn't see a head on it was just wondering either way cool find
Thanks Mike and I am pretty certain that was a RR spike. I often find them with the head snapped off from being hammered on. Thanks for your help with this one, Mike and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Looks like the part on a dock that boats are tied to.
Pillow block bearing for the mystery find.
Mystery piece appears to be a pipe hanger used in commercial buildings for water pipes gas pipes and so on
Thanks for your help with this one, Rick and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
We always enjoy, thanks Greg. A lot nice finds and that old key was cool. Always like seeing your uploads my friend. 👍. Ward & Kim K.
I believe the mystery find is an iron attachment for an old schoolhouse desk
Mystery item could be a bearing race and mount for a saw mill blade Greg
I think the mystery find may be one half of a pipe clamp.
That's what I was thinking. My dad's house has similar brackets for sewage pipe in his basement
Thanks for your help with this one, Jay and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Another awesome episode. Such a great variety of finds and photos. Love the toy gun.
Thanks so much D and I loved finding that one. That is the very first Stevens gun that I have found. I just wish it had been whole! Thanks for watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Awesome finds Greg! Your persistence certainly pays off. I love that the sewing notions have history attached to them. It gives life to what would otherwise be just stuff. Thanks for making the past come alive!
Glad you enjoyed this one Judy and I love detecting at that place specifically because so many of the things that I find, I can directly tie to the students and faculty that worked, attended and lived there. It's also one of only two black colleges that were established in TN to educate the freed slaves after the war. I once found a Navy dog tag from WWII there that belonged to one of the students. I was able to trace it back to the person and was able to relay his life story in the Finding America episode that I put out. It's a very special place.
Wow, how awesome is ihat! Imagine how touched his descendants must have been to receive his dog tag. Your hobby / profession reaches so many people. Glad I'm one of them!😁
Yup i got my first taste of digging into a yellow jacket nest……. Got stung right on the bridge of my nose, hurt like hell
Yeah, they are no fun! I've run a mower over them a time or two. Not fun at all. ATB Greg
part of an "pillow block" shaft bearing retainer
Great video dude …… should I change the audio theme?
It's worth giving it a try. I love using it.
Awesome saves yes and dig it all
Thanks William! Much appreciated.
Could the mystery find possibly be a flag pole holder where the rope would wrap around the straight part?
All holes matter
That's a fact!
Could the mystery item be the bottom half of an oar lock mount?
Thanks for your help with that one, Tim and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Detectors are so weird. I pounded my backyard numerous times, but.......a few weeks ago I was raking the yard after a heavy storm......and wouldn't ya know it......I raked up a copper penny. Lol. Like.....how in the world did I NOT find that before??? Strange. And many people don't care for finding wheaties.....but when I do, I start flipping out. Lol
Looks like a transmission mount for a car.
Looks a mount for an electric motor. ??
LFOD !
Thanks for your help with this one, Tom and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
Iron find. Bootjack?
Cast iron pipe hanger ?
Is it for a oar on boat
Thanks for your help with that one, Leo and I really appreciate you watching! Take care and ATB Greg
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Greg great episode as usual.. The first find looked to me to be a section of lightning rod stock. I've dismantled several old homes over the years and it caught my eye..Look forward to the start of my day next week.
Thanks Robert! Appreciate you watching. ATB Greg
Glad you liked watching this one and I appreciate the help with that piece Roy. I do know that this piece came from the original fence that went along the driveway there as I found a few pieces cut off just above ground level and still posted in the ground after finding this piece. Thanks so much for watching each week! Take care and ATB Greg
Do you think there's any advantage to using the depth profile over the normal-medium profile in the fast program? Been trying the program myself in some trashy areas with varying success, doesn't seem to do well with higher emi really noisy.
