A full video review of the iGaging EZMic. This is their entry level digital micrometer.
A great measuring device and very good for the price point. If you are looking for a basic digital micrometer on a tight budget, this is the micrometer you want. It will do the job great and not break the bank.

The iGaging EZ MiC has the exact same design, color and functions as the one selling at Harbor Freight under the name of PITTSBURGH Digital Micrometer, the only difference is that the iGaging has a dedicated output for the AccuRemote SPC USB Data Cable so you can hook it up to your computer but everything else is the same. The Pittsburgh micrometer from Harbor Freight also include the spare battery, wrench for the battery compartment and the little adapter with steel ball and rubber sleeve to measure round surfaces like pipes, tubing, etc.

These import mics are made at the same place & distributed out to various companies with slight colour changes etc. Once again Moore & Wright's entry digi mic is exactly the same as this iGaging product. I thought they may have cloned the more prestiege Moore & Wright's products over there but, since some of the M&W & IGaging calipers are the same, obviously the same contracts. At least it means M&W show confidence in the product though. The M&W version sells for £70-£90! Imagine the profit on that for the M&W logo, I spent £15 on mine after discount but, usually only £20. I've seen some with the Harbor Freight tag on here too. They've revised the model now though the newer version has 3 buttons with Origin/ ABS (origin relative measurement/absolute) & the battery is the smaller CR1632, there is a data port on the back. Overall design is the same.

You didn't do a single measurement with the tool to check the accuracy, so this is more of a presentation that a review.

Exactly. I was wondering why he did that!

I had stored my micrometer for about 2 years and now that I took it out, no matter how much I turn it does not move. Will it require maintenance? Is this normal?

some micrometers read in 16s for example if you have the reading 6.35 mm it would also show the same as 1/4 th of a inch not sure which company is making these micrometers just remember vaguely seen some where on your tube

This looks almost exactly like the one Harbor Freight sells. Same color, design and everything.

You shouldn't spin the ratchet shut, because it leads to overtightening.
You should wind it shut gently.
Spinning it shut can give you an error a a good few tenths.
Notice how at 6:08 it's showing 5 tenths, but the previous time it was showing 0.

As mentioned in other comments, the same mic is sold under a variety of brand names at a lower price, if you absolutely must buy it. Was this video a paid endorsement?

This is the exact same micrometer (but this one has that data port outlet) that Harbor Freight that sells for about $30. Don't fire back about the Harbor Freight tool here. I'm a tool person that appreciates quality tools, but just sayin, the Harbor Freight mic works just fine for guitar work, or home use. I'm not working at NASA.

I bought the full set and dislike them VERY much. They EAT batteries quickly and they do not hold a zero.
