    I've rented a couple of mini's from Depot, so I know just enough to get someone killed. It always amazes me how gentle and graceful that Chris can be with something that big!

    Years ago I had training in NC and during a break, everyone from my company was standing out under a covered entrance watching it thunderstorm. The lecturer was amused when we explained we have 360 sun shinny days a year and to see this much rain coming down and the fresh ozone smell was simply marvelous.

    That bush you keep pulling up is a Privet. It has black berries in the winter the birds love but it spreads EVERYwhere! Lol it used to be a common hedge plant. But it requires a lot of maintenance

    That what you call an unknown bush looks like Privet hedge. Chris - the Pond Master to the rescue of another old Carolina pond. That breach looks like a knife cut thru a bread loaf. Still looks like the apartment complex pond mud dredging from last year only with lots of growing plants and tall grass (Weeds).

    Bad weather rolling in end of next week at least north of you. Can't wait to see if you core this dam. Looks like lousy dirt to work with especially the way the break eroded out. That mud looks like cow poo

    The 250 makes quick work, when you're running it. It'll be a nice little pond when you're done. Sure a big enough breech in the damn. Easy to find!

    👍Really nice project. Looks like that full depth breach was a blessing in disguise as it let at least some of the mud drain off and allow vegetation root systems to grow and give you supported access for clearing. Thanks for sharing.

    Just in a half a day or so, you've already got it back looking like a pond... Nothing like the smell of ol' stinky pond mud in the morning !! lolol... Got to have the escape plan , in case ya fall out of site, and it can happen real quick !! lolol..Got it looking good already Chris !! Now , if the springs don't fill up while your gone and make it a pain in the ass to get back to work in there....lolol... Great as always Man , Have a Great Evening !! and, On too the Next...

      Remember when they were hired to recover that excavator that some guy got in over his head and sunk it pretty deep? Now that was some MUUUUUDDDDD and Chris and Justin did a great job getting it out. Under the close of the insurance company guy.

    Chris if you got a local weldinhg shop you probably could have one fabricated just as inexpensive as buying a used one and you can make it as heavy as you want and be removable. The first welding shop I worked in we built tailgates for Moxy Trucks. There not to hard to build.

    I find it helps to also run the AC when I've got window fogging problems on cold damp days requiring the use of the heater in my car. Yes both at the same time!

    Wow you got that mud out of that pond quick! We're gonna have to start calling you Lets Speed Dig 18! LOL! 🤣 When you work in a confined space like you are here it always looks like a bomb went off the first day or so depending on how much time you're gonna have to be there to accomplish what you're doing. You know sometimes it looks like a bomb went off up until a day or two before the end of a big job you're doing in tight quarters. Good video. Always fun to see a super skilled operator at work.       It weighs at least 25 short tons.

      30-35 tons depending on different options and attachments. And can lift 22k lbs.

    from my viewpoint, it appears to be a very shallow pond; which makes me wonder why anyone would put the kind of money in it; without making it a lot deeper.

      I often wonder the same on pond builds and rebuilds, but then digging it a lot deeper has to be a lot more expensive, I would think.

      Just amazes me how that vegetation floating on two foot of goop can act like a mat UNTIL you get rough and tear it. Chris is so smooth that he makes it happen, but some other guys would sink out of sight. Or at least through all of the goop til something solid. Near a spring that could be quite deep. Chris is definitely the man for this job no doubt.

    Chris, those little evergreens you were asking about are called "Buckberry Bushes", used years ago for switches to keep a child in check, I have felt my fair share 😉. You are going to do another MASTER PIECE aren't you?. Great Start.

    Hasn't been too long ago that the dam breached then. You've done some ponds that looked dry, but they were like quicksand.

    My guess after seeing the drone video, is that someone decided that they didn't want to deal with maintenance, so they just breached the dam and let it go wild. But then I suppose that's a common theme for the pond repair jobs you work on.

    I'm surprised you started this project in the rain, i wouldve been tempted to let it stop before starting so that the organic can take up some of that moisture. This time of year nothing dries up. It stopped drying here mid october. We wait for everything to freeze now.

      @@JCrook1028 yes I know all too well I own a couple pieces of machinery, and have a fulltime job road building. But sometimes the weather wins. And it saves money and makes for a better finished project if you just wait a day. But at the same time this summer my crushed concrete I was using was so dry that when I laid it down in the rain the compaction was phenomenal.

      Betty's not a dozer.
      She's a hinged bucket front loader he uses like it's a dozer but it can move 4 times as much material as a dozer.
      Right equipment depending on the job.
      This one calls for the 250.
      Betty would big down.
      Anybody that questions Chris's equipment picks are clueless.
