I have to tell you that you are right! The turtle is so cute it's worth the growing pains! I am a beginner, and yes, it's a challenge, but my heart giggles every time I look at the parts! 😍 I was without power for 24 hours, so during the day I whipped up 5 shells...because I remembered how to do them. Then I made 6 jellyfish tentacles because I remembered those too. 😁 I am 59 and am loving learning new things! Thank you so much! I now have 3 turtles stuffed and one jelly completed. ❤
Wow!! That's awesome! I'm so glad you like my tutorials and have made so many plushies from them! I imagine they are so pretty! I hope you have a wonderful day and happy crafting! 🥰🥰
It turned out really cute!! sewing is my worst enemy so ty for this tutorial 💗 I got lazy to secure the head using sewing so I used hot glue (you can’t notice it tho hehe)
By far the best sea turtle and tutorial out there! Thank you for sharing this!! Do you mind me asking what you charge for these turtles. I have someone who wants me to make them a sea turtle but not sure what to charge for it. I will be using Bernat blanket yarn... Anyway, thanks again for sharing this, you are a very good instructor!
If you wanted to make a smaller version, how would you go about doing that? Like maybe only going to 30sc with the shell and shrinking the other rounds down that way?
Plushies are not my favorite thing to work with but I love the way tis came out and the pattern is so easy I went ahead and got it so I can do another🤩
Are all of the turtles in your background made with Bernat Blanket yarn as well? One of the ones you can see better in your thumbnail is calling my name, but I can’t seem to find the yarn. Thanks!
When you sell the turtles (they are precious) how much do you charge for them? I always give my projects away but have not thought about the pricing. I have recently retired and think I might want to do a craft fair sometime. I have time now to think about crafty things.
I sell the ones out of bernat blanket for $35-$40 (USD). I also make the same pattern out of size 4 velvet and charge $25 for them. I hope you find success in selling your crochet! 🥰
Congrats! I'd say use a bigger hook in the future. You want to be able to crochet smoothly without the stitches being too loose (or tight). Make sure to experiment to find what works best! 🥰💕
Does it look ok if you attach the fins and head with the same colour as the shell (or even a different colour altogether) has anyone tried this? Thanks ❤
Sometimes if your tension is tight, the pieces will be pointy (especially with blanket yarn). I'd try sizing the hook up a little. You can also try stuffing it a little harder (unless it's already pretty firm). I hope that helps!
Ooo, that's interesting! I remember getting a skein like that before, but they definitely overdid it with the sticky part of the sticker (had to cut off a good portion of the yarn). Maybe that's why? 😂
Hiii ! I begun crochet about 2 weeks ago, I wanted to make a cute little sea turtle and saw your video ! Your pattern looks so cute, thank you ! 😊 I was wondering if it is possible to make a smaller version of that pattern ? Can I just divide by two the number of stitches or do I need a completely different pattern ? (I also have smaller yarn but I’m afraid to not have enough to make all of it, that’s why I wanted to know if it is possible to divide stitches) (Sorry if i made mistakes, english isn’t my first language )
Hi! You could definitely try halving the stitch count! It might be harder to crochet the fins closed, but it could work! Let me know if you run into any problems trying to shrink it, I might be able to help! 🥰🤗
@@loopsandknotscrochet Hiii ! I just come to say that I made it ! Halving the stitches worked just fine ! It turns out so cute !! Thank you so much for your pattern 🤗
Well...mine came out pointy. I think instead of crocheting in the front loops, I'll do the top front loop and back loop. Maybe that will flatten it a bit more. Im so disappointed but not giving up! 😊❤
It's pretty easy! The only 'hard' part is crocheting the limbs together, but I break it into steps in the video, so it should be fairly easy to follow! It is no-sew with some optional sewing to attach the head more firmly. You can skip to the belly portion of the video and see how it's all connected! 🥰🥰
I was wondering what you meant by "Chanel yarn"--I'm guessing you meant chenille? (shen-EEL) Anyway, this is one of the cutest sea turtles I've seen. Thank you for the tutorial! ❤
There's a way you can slow down the video! I'm not sure how to do it but I've heard of it, you can probably find a tutorial for it. I hope this helps :)

It's called "Cloud Nine"! 🥰
sooo cute

@@loopsandknotscrochet is the turtle on the far left of your thumbnail in the color Sailor’s Delight?
Yes, the one with orange, tan, and the greenish-bluey color is called Sailors Delight! 🫶🫶

I finished mine. It took perseverance to do. I had trouble getting crochet hook through loops. Any hints for what can help?

I just finished my first one. Thanks for the video.
I was wondering how much you sell these for at market?

omg you must crochet all day long, LOL
Yes! It's a labor of love! 😂🥰
Um i have a question i was wondering if you could do sc inc istead of inc then sc
The pattern should work out fine either way! I dont think there's anything that would be affected by the change. 🥰
Does it look ok if you attach the fins and head with the same colour as the shell (or even a different colour altogether) has anyone tried this? Thanks ❤
I've found the belly looks best with either a 3rd color or with the body color. My favorite combo is a green body, brown shell, and tan belly! 🥰
I don’t see the link for the eyes. Can you link it…I’m in love 😍
Hi! I tried to link them, but the link is miles long. 😅 I buy them from the Upins store on Amazon. I hope that helps! 🫶
@@loopsandknotscrochet do you know what size you used?

@@loopsandknotscrochet Thank you so much. I’m pretty new to crocheting so it’s good to get the tips for next time I crochet something.
What is the colour of the variegated yarn called?
It's called Cloud Nine by Bernat Baby Blanket! 🥰🥰
I lonely have 6.5 mm 😢😢
If it works with the yarn type you're using, go for it! The hook I use is only a suggestion!
Why can’t they do as in Europe, placing a sticker at the beginning of the skein? Sure would help with the yarn barf!
