Yes! The '17 Greg A. is back! No fancy music or graphics. "Hi, I'm Greg. I'm going to turn some wrenches. Here's how and why." Keep up the great work man!
Cant believe someone drilled through the top flange of that truck frame to mount that bulkhead....i just got a great deal on 2 30" step boxes for a truck build coming up....hard to go wrong with black and chrome. i would love to have that big sleeper you took off.
Hey bud friendly advice, Never drill into the top or bottom frame rails like the headache rack was!! That's a big no no....cant believe I just saw that... I know you didn't do it but it's a industry standard... no welding or drilling flange rails between the axles!! Unless your stretching or shorten with a frame sleeve..
That was what I was thinking. I had always been told do not drill or weld the top or bottom flanges of the frame rail. usually, headache racks are installed with u bolts or flat bar and all thread.
The Pete is looking good! moving is a nightmare but it will be awesome once it's all useable space. Keep posting videos of the every day grind. It's cool to see everything you're doing with the house since I'm doing alot of the same with just moving into to my new house like running power to the shop and everything that it takes to make it a real shop
@@jeremiahjanes3525 but he can't get any new tuners for any trucks that came factory with emissions equipment. So his current set up is fine, but going forward for him and the racing industry/sport.
This is one build I'm looking forward to since I'm also working on a big rig truck it'll give me ideas on what I can do keep up the good work and have a great day.
Greg love the work you are doing to the Peterbilt and I think it will look sick when it is done. And i don't know if you are planning on doing anything with the mirrors but maybe look into putting the later style mirrors on in my opinion that would make the truck look even better and it will make the truck look newer also. It is up to you though either way I think it is going to look sick when it is done.
Love the big rig videos!! Keep them coming! Also might want to get that frame fixed where the rack was, never drill holes into the top side or bottom side of frame, it compromises strength
Drop the air in the rear next time, may help getting it through the door. Flat topping the the ultra cab roof is going to be a fun project, just do it right so it doesn't look funny
Awesome awesome video Greg A, lot of work done on the Pete lol, I like it already lol. And new parts galore showing up at the door lol, and Happy Birthday Greg Alberalla!!!!!!
Is it me or is Greg losing the Northern Accent slowly turning into a Kentucky boy beard and accent lol keep cranking the content Greg always good to see these vids!
I think you should keep the step fuel tanks and keep the frame open back to the rear tires and put the batteries and air tanks under the cab that would look clean.
Wait is that the sleeper that westen bought for his blue 379 the pin stripe design on the side looks alike and I recall him saying he bought it in Kentucky or something if so y’all should collab on each other’s channels
Dump the air out the rear bags, it helps some with clearance. Holes in frame have to use a special machine to "punch out" the holes. No drill holes or non factory welds on frame.
Hopefully theres someone out there that can clear this up or correct me where I'm wrong and I dont know the type of transmission in the truck but if it's an Eaton fuller automated standard couldnt you convert it back into a full manual. I have barely any experience with this just a thought.
This is awesome. Soon as I get a shop I am going to do the exact same thing but with a dump truck. Im in seattle so a shop is so damn expensive its insane. Your pete is so fucking sweet!
looking good on peterbilt and nice a clean truck. love sound of cat motor next time when you take truck out shop drop the dump vavle off with air bag go down on axle so its wont hit ur shop door on roof
Yes! The '17 Greg A. is back! No fancy music or graphics. "Hi, I'm Greg. I'm going to turn some wrenches. Here's how and why." Keep up the great work man!
Man, seeing it with that big old sleeper off I’m definitely hyped on this project now
Same
Anybody else notice that Greg's accent is changing a little bit
This is the comment I was looking for.
Exactly what I was gonna say lol but it’s not that hard to pick up being in Jersey they don’t really have an accent
The heat will do that to ya.
Y’all
I was going to say the say thing! That north jersey accent is fading!
Former jersey boy

I was surprised to see this done. I was thinking the same thing. Big no no.
I know the sticker says no welding or drilling but if you stretch it you'll do both... would never drill the top flange though
Itll be fine, made it this long
yeah, I commented before I read any others -- same thing went though my mind as soon as I saw it -- definitely some driver mechanics work there.....
How else would you attach that headache rack? U bolts?
I like how this video started, just gettin into the work without really saying what you’re doin.
Hello my name is Greg A. I have all these Milwaukee cordless tools but still like to use hand tools
Exactly what I was thinking to! 🙄
I work as a mechanic since 20yrs and screaming for My self here.... 😂
@@mrolsen6987 I'm a backyard hack and couldn't imagine using hand tools for most of those tasks... its a free country though righ? haha
@@Lnugget 😂👍
This sleeper is with Westin Chaplin now
Yess mate.look same @westinchaplin
Sleeper went from Greg to Westin 😂👌🏼
Wasn't expecting this today but I'll take it!!
Was that drilled and bolted Through the flange of the frame rail? That weakens the frame so I'm told.
It made it this long, dont worry about it
That was what I was thinking. I had always been told do not drill or weld the top or bottom flanges of the frame rail. usually, headache racks are installed with u bolts or flat bar and all thread.
@@astevenson11 that sticker is for people like you to read and comment here
Most frames have that stamped on them. Never weld or drill on the frame rails
Yes, it definitely weakens the frame.
The whole video was just a flex of nice tools lol I’m stoked about this project!

Oh my I was so pumped for this but seeing it’s auto really grinds my gears
How are the new/reinforced epa laws regarding emissions and tuners going to effect you and others like you?
I would like to know if those in a state that doesn’t require emission tests can continue to operate their work trucks that have been modified
No it’s federal law not state so you would be illegal
He lives in kentucky now so hes safe for a long time lol
Depends how old the truck is
@@jeremiahjanes3525 but he can't get any new tuners for any trucks that came factory with emissions equipment. So his current set up is fine, but going forward for him and the racing industry/sport.
Watched after I watched Weston’s vid
I love how your Pickens up a litter southern sounds in your voice. Awesome keep on trucking buddy.
Hopefully they're 10 inch stacks. I really liked the addition of the gopro footage
I’m excited to see this rig build, can’t wait to see it finished. Keep it up Greg

Finally an intro where he’s not talking up a storm.
Sounds like the jersey accents are leaving sounding more southern lol
I’m loving the Peterbilt content
Hey Greg! So excited for this project. Later on down the road, you should get a custom trailer for the Pete to haul 2 trucks and go cross country
Leave it a day cab looks so good
Nice semi in the shop with the daycab in front woot for the room lol and the first gen sneaking in. Looking good my man Greg A.

Is it me or is Greg losing the Northern Accent slowly turning into a Kentucky boy beard and accent lol keep cranking the content Greg always good to see these vids!
Yo greg when are u gonna do a toolbox tour??
Greg make a vid on your thoughts about the EPA coming down on race builds
The epa can not do anything about race trucks or pulling trucks as long as there not road legal
I think you should keep the step fuel tanks and keep the frame open back to the rear tires and put the batteries and air tanks under the cab that would look clean.
I would make it a day cab....keep that stretched look
That high vis color snapon came out with is the best
Check out Holst Truck parts, they supply 4 state trucks with bumpers, cans, transmissions, ect ect,
Is ur little sleeper a little rise level with the cab????
Are you going to Bean's Diesel Blackout In the Country?
I sure hope your gonna put a manual in it.

So why the sleeper removal?
