Ma Chao: *I will take up all of the pain and sorrow you have caused, and pierce you deeply with this spear!* Kiyomori: *That would be futile. You need more than that to damage this body.*
Ma chao is my favorite character by far. To have Wang Yi hate him so much was actually kindve interesting. It feel like it gave him a little more backbone in the shu story. He's after Cao Cao and shes after ma chao. This is the kindve drama you have to love about koei
Isn't...she a historical figure? Not necessarily about Koei doing well as much as them bringing a spotlight to her? I personally love how it shows that, in one's goal, one can hurt countless people along the way
Due to the fact that Ma Chao killed her family... Ma Chao desires Cao Cao's head for killing the Ma Family While Wang Yi desires Ma Chao's head for killing her family... I hope they keep her in any other dynasty warrior games, i mean it...
All this time I've been listening to this and thinking that it reminded me of something. Now I remember: TERMINATOR 2. The notes at the beginning is very similar to the Terminator theme.
Ok, for the people against Wang Yi, first of all, her sons were NOT killed by Ma Chao's revolt, but Liang Shuang's. Second, if Zhao Ang had killed somone in his family, he did NOT have to respond by killing the rest of them.Third, Wang Yi convinced NOBODY to fight! It's NOT her fault that her 2 sons died.
It's a game and not a historically accurate one at that. If they have steam powered rocket lances I assume they might also bend 'historical' facts a little as well...
very very true. I realized that he hides it sometimes through honor and justice. sometimes its like that in real life as well. but i truly love koei for all of these type of games.. its amazing
This is so different from all the other pieces of music from Dynasty Warriors, That's what makes it do amazing. It's like a mix. Can't even explain! Lol.
Sima Yi lures Ma Teng family over to Xu Chang to join their force Ma Teng refuse to join Wei so Cao Cao let them go. Sima Yi plans to kill yet ambush and kill Ma Teng and his sons Ma Tie, Ma Xu. The only one left Ma family is Ma Chao and his cousin loyal Ma Dai. Ma Chao was fierce mad at Cao Cao want to revenge and justice for his father. Sima Yi sent the general vs Ma Chao and spare his life after he came back Xu Chang Sima Yi kill him after losing the battle, Sima Yi lied to Wang Yi that Ma Chao kills him. She seeks revenge and hunts Ma Chao, Cao Cao was not involved killing Ma Teng it was Sima Yi plans that's why Ma Chao called the Alliance with Han Sui between the battle at Tong Gate.
I have three words to prove you wrong Sun Shang Xiang. She fought alongside her family a lot, not to mention aided the attack on Cheng Du. but I do agree with you on the girls made into important characters thing, Shame there aren't many notable Women in Three Kingdoms China who took the field as opposed to Warring States Japan. although, saying that, Koei'll find a way to bring in more female officers, hopefully like Wang Yi, as in EPIC
Ma Chao was sent out to fight with Wei to get Revenge before he joined the shu army, but was defeated and retreated where he saw Wang Yi's husband deheading his wife and kids to taunt him. Unfortunately the gates to the city was closed, later when Wang Yi went with the Wei forces as a representative for her husband Ma Chao lead a small group to sneak inside at night thus killing everyone.
Actually, while the main story she comes from is a spin off of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, in that story Bao Sanniang (IT'S A CHINESE NAME, SANNIANG IS HER FIRST NAME, BAO IS HER FAMILY NAME) was a warrior.
Because it creates a constant cycle of death. And in the literal sense, if EVERYONE one earth took an eye from another person, we'd all end up not having one.
@TheSancretor I kind of feel the same way, I just can't look at Ma Chao the same way anymore, knowing that in a very Shakespearean way, he became the kind of "evil" and "unjust" person he was supposedly fighting. Ah the never-ending cycle of revenge.
Honestly Wang Yi was a surprise in DW7 but now she is my favourite character. I just hate that they replaced these weapons in sequels and don't feature this soundtrack. Its a banger and should be with her like Lu Bu's track is with him.
Makes sense why SSX would get in for her and Diao Chan as both were huge parts of the era even if Diao Chan more so for the Novel as she didn't actually exist.
thats actually pretty awesome. I would also love for them to go even farther past Jin or even before the three kingdoms. Even though the 3 kingdoms is where the real war was it wasent all of it. Their insight and gaming experience is amazing. But I agree! :) They did touch on all of those as well. Its amazing what Koei can do. I know dynasty warriors 8 is going to be awesome! But if they leave it at this I would honestly be cool with that too. These games make me love china's past more and more
here's hoping they don't stop or drop the ball. they are the one company/dev team that I can forgive for making sequel after sequel because they almost always improve and reinvigorate the series with each title. One thing I do hope they do is go to other ages for the series. It took them 5 games to get the first Samurai Warriors game, and they touched upon Europe with Bladestorm, and Greece with Troy, I'd like to see a proper warriors game for the hundred years war. (with a merc story :) )
No, that is force-induced karma and it only apply's for those who cannot learn to move on after mourning. If you take my eye, the other will gain more insight
Ah, Wang Yi: the only woman who historically fought in war. Kind of ironic that she was added after many other females who were one of: housewives of of the most prominent men during the Three Kingdoms period glorified as "warriors", anonymous girls suddenly made into important characters, a nonexistant Las Vegas showgirl with bad fashion sense married to a fictional pansy who passes himself off as the son of the narcissistic "God of War".
She has a conversation with No in the camp. Wang Yi: "I like to think I know how it feels to get revenge. In my dreams, I take Ma Chao's head every night..." (or something of the like) No: "Oh, that's lovely..."
Yea, cos the Ma's were under Cao Cao, thats why Wang's son is in his army. He killed them cos they were loyal to Cao Cao. Thats what that was stated in the book I read. Though can't be too sure neither.
I rather like that they added Wang Yi. Even as an ardent shuist, I found the Shu in the previous games rather bland. Its nice that they added her to show that shu isn't some unique peaceful snowflake and just another faction in a time of war that has its share of good and bad. Now if they could amp up the narcisistic side of Guan Yu, I think that'd be nice as well. Because seriously, fuck him.
To be fair, the core material of Dynasty Warriors, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, was revised from its original format by the Mao Brothers, who were staunchly Pro-Shu. As a result, Liu Bei and his brothers were romanticized and shown as 'for the people' when they were actually far from it. Actually, if you want to get down to it, Zhang Fei was actually the most decent of the three brothers, but the revision rendered Zhang into a drunken buffoon. Now, that's not writing away the fact that Luo Guanzhong also wrote from a Pro-Shu slant, but it can be understood because at the time of the writing, there was a rise in the romantic notions of what Liu Bei represented, so you can at least explain several pieces of the writing.
Wang Yi is an amazing charcter & she was skilled in the war too i do think only 4 women's who took to the battle Wang Yi - Xing Cai - Zhu Rong - Sun Shing Xing
Ultimate comment necromancy here: but 2 of those characters are 100% fictitious, and the other 2 are super over glorifications. Zhurong and the entirety of the Nanman campaigns were made up in the books. Xingcai is nothing more than an amalgamation of both of Zhang Fei's daughters, both of whom became consorts to Liu Shan. SSX was said to have been trained in archery and horseback riding, but never set foot on a battlefield. Which leaves Wang Yi: she also never set foot on an actual battlefield. However, she did donate supplies and raised funds for Wei's campaigns in Liang Province. In short: no woman ever fought in any battles during this time period. It just simply did not happen. The games would just be kind of boring if they only had males though, so Koei Tecmo decided to just say fuck historical accuracy and make some notable female figures into playable characters, even if they did have to make up all of their names and personalities in the process.
Well we cannot say guan Sao if fictional or not because although he's not mentioned in history, history itself is filled with holes. And he is mentioned in romance of the three kingdoms technically he is "fictional" due to his lack of evidence of existence but like I said history itself has it's holes.just like several other characters like diao chan
The truth is Cao Cao had Ma Chao's family, including his father Ma Teng, executed for the uprising, enraging him and starting a rebellion, killing Wang Yi's family in the process. This then made her mad and she has had this ongoing vendetta since.
Wrong. According to history the truth is opposite, cao cao held Ma Teng just want to prevent and warn Ma chao do not attack his back while he invading the south, but surprisingly Ma chao ignore his father's life and did it, it enraged cao cao and caused Ma Teng's death.
Cao Cao tried to invade Hanzhong and he passed through Liang Province. Ma Chao thought the invasion was a ruse and the real target was Liang (atleast not yet) so he attacked Cao Cao’s army. But since Cao Cao was the one ‘protecting’ the Emperor, Ma Chao was instead branded a treasonous rebel.
He didn't work for Shu yet. After he escaped Xu Chang with Ma Dai after the assassination of his father, Ma Chao, he rallied all of Guan Zhong in rebellion. However, Wang Yi's husband and son refused to follow him in his personal vendetta. Ma Chao proceeded to murder them in cold blood, just how Cao Cao murdered his father. It was not for honor, not for justice, and not for virtue. He plain old murdered them for not following him.
@leerasmey Just type in "teary edge mp3" in google....and use the one from "loudtronix.me".....not sure if thats where I got the song from but I got guo jia's theme (trick and magic) from there just now....hope u get it....enjoy..
I love your comment. If there's any female character I hate in Dynasty Warriors, is Bao. She's already not supposed to be there, and her lust to just get fucked by Guan Suo gives her the personality of a dumb rich girl. Not saying all of them are, but you get my point, maybe. And it's even worse how in her 'Dream Stage' in WO3, she treats Himiko like shit after she offers to help her, and then proceeds to bitch walk. Yeah. I really REALLY hate Bao.
Who is she? I don't have dynasty warriors 7 and dynasty warriors 7 xtreme legends. Can somebody send DW 7 (PC) to me? Not by email. My internet connection speed is very low. It has 15KB/s. OR where can i get it? Help me!
Well, I'd rather prefer Liu Shan in the game than the other two. To be honest, I like Liu Shan. He's a cool character, and he proved to be smarter than Jiang Wei when he surrendered, Shu; knowing that he couldn't have saved Shu. Besides, at least he actually existed.
To be fair, both Guan Suo and Bao shouldn't be there since they are technically fictional. Bao is indeed annoying as much as Guan Suo to make a copycat of Ling Tong in term of gameplay. You can smell the Shoujo fanservice reeks of their bodies as opposed to other new character in DW7. BTW, I don't want Liu Shan either. That coward doesn't fit to be in this game.
Liu Shan was a disgrace because while Jiang Wei and the other try to improve the condition and territory of Shu, he did nothing but let his attendant do the job while he's partying days and nights. No wonder he surrendered because he didn't do any shit unlike his father.
Look people, top comments aside, it's just how I feel. Spare me the lectures because all I see is TL;DR. All I meant was that, in anger, he did to Wang Yi's family what Cao Cao did out of conniving.
Justice varies from person to person. to give him credit, the pair are on opposing sides of the battlefield. there's giving respect to you're opponent and there's telling them your sorry for killing someone you fought against who was related to them. If you a soldier, you don't apologise to the wife of the man you killed in battle when you are fighting on the battlefield. it's actually amazing how alike the pair are when you think about it.
lol I love the bitch walk part. I don't really like Bao either. She can be cute at times, but she's actually not that interesting, and she didn't even appear that much. I love Himiko so much more.
WHY WANG YI HATES MA CHAO IN A NUTSHELL Wang Yi's husband killed Ma Chao's family. Ma Chao killed her husband's family in retaliation (aka Wang Yi's family)
that's one of the things you have to give Koei with the warriors games: there are no straight out villains (well, Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu) nor Straight out heroes. it's everyone fighting for what they beleive in. And when you think about it, Wang Yi and Ma Chao are alike. like you said, He After Cao Cao and She's after him, both out of vengence. Just Wang Yi admits it whilst Ma Chao hides it beneath 'honor' and 'Justice'. but that's war for you
I've heard this Song first Time in WO3. Since that Battle Wang Yi is my Main Character, and this Song plays on every Battle. Really great Song.^^
Ma Chao: *I will take up all of the pain and sorrow you have caused, and pierce you deeply with this spear!*
Kiyomori: *That would be futile. You need more than that to damage this body.*
Reading the history of Ma Chao be like: "Dude, here's a mirror. Look in it."
One of my favorite themes and characters in Dynasty Warriors.
Wow this song touches my heart and further establishes my admiration for the Dynasty Warriors franchise and it will remain my favorite of all time....
Ma chao is my favorite character by far. To have Wang Yi hate him so much was actually kindve interesting. It feel like it gave him a little more backbone in the shu story. He's after Cao Cao and shes after ma chao. This is the kindve drama you have to love about koei

I personally love how it shows that, in one's goal, one can hurt countless people along the way
this is one of my favorite songs from ALL of the Warrior games combined.
I'm so happy I'm not the only one reminded of Lightning upon seeing Wang Yi.
Cao Cao + Ma Chao + Wang Yi = Most akward and tense threesome in WO3
Didn't see that coming in WO3.
Due to the fact that Ma Chao killed her family...
Ma Chao desires Cao Cao's head for killing the Ma Family
While Wang Yi desires Ma Chao's head for killing her family...
I hope they keep her in any other dynasty warrior games, i mean it...
All this time I've been listening to this and thinking that it reminded me of something. Now I remember: TERMINATOR 2. The notes at the beginning is very similar to the Terminator theme.

God. I adore this song
Sucks that it's not in any of the games after 7 empires.
Aaaahh finally I found a HQ version of this
very very true. I realized that he hides it sometimes through honor and justice. sometimes its like that in real life as well. but i truly love koei for all of these type of games.. its amazing
WOW BEAUTIFUL and EPIC great combination
This is so different from all the other pieces of music from Dynasty Warriors, That's what makes it do amazing. It's like a mix. Can't even explain! Lol.

No way!!
I have three words to prove you wrong
Sun Shang Xiang.
"Do not resist me, revenge is mine"
I too want my own revenge.... And i will have it in 2 months.

No, Cao Cao killed his family, because he cited a rebellion. Ma Chao went berserk and started another rebellion, in which he killed Wang Yi's family.
LUV this theme WANG YI is my fav chara
damn whoever is making this music is creative and should be getting paid a shitload of money
I always wondered who writes and who performs this wonderful music.
@TheSancretor I kind of feel the same way, I just can't look at Ma Chao the same way anymore, knowing that in a very Shakespearean way, he became the kind of "evil" and "unjust" person he was supposedly fighting. Ah the never-ending cycle of revenge.

Her musou was very damaging, It kills me a few times. As of playing DW8 Complete Edition, Her musou is still an insta-kill to me.
Amazing. I really want this game but don't have a PS3 :/
Ah, Wang Yi: the only woman who historically fought in war. They stood against his plan of revenge, and he, like you said, just killed them. However, this was before his *revelation* in joining liu bei.
Yeah him! I haven't played Samurai Warriors 3 yet, since it's hard to get here, so I just call him Pancake Hat!
Im curious, do you know why Ma Chao attacked & killed Wang Yi's family in the 1st place?
She has a conversation with No in the camp.
Wang Yi: "I like to think I know how it feels to get revenge. In my dreams, I take Ma Chao's head every night..." (or something of the like)
No: "Oh, that's lovely..."
FIRST, Also, Wei for life
0:58-1:46 Is my favorite =)
Yea, cos the Ma's were under Cao Cao, thats why Wang's son is in his army. He killed them cos they were loyal to Cao Cao. Thats what that was stated in the book I read. Though can't be too sure neither.
@Revya13 Agreed!
ill tell u another thing....this song is going right into my i-pod....

Care to explain how the historical Zhang Africa is “decent”?
i hope they well do so ...
it well be a great idea
in the game it can be , when she kill him , but in history i don't know
Daamn Wang Yi is smoking hot
Wang Yi is an amazing charcter
& she was skilled in the war too
i do think only 4 women's who took to the battle
Wang Yi - Xing Cai - Zhu Rong - Sun Shing Xing

Serah! Lightning's in ancient China!
Well Cao Cao was ordered to kill Ma Teng and his clan by the Emperor, but the point still stands.

@Zhaoyun098 good job.
Koei should Re-released Their Old Titles on PSN & XBLA.
are you going to do Samurai warriors 3 empires after this?
You don't apologize to people for doing your job
how can you download this song into ipod
Pancake hat being Hanbei? :P
Need more "piano" in OST music game
Umm this good music
He had them executed.
@leerasmey Just type in "teary edge mp3" in google....and use the one from "loudtronix.me".....not sure if thats where I got the song from but I got guo jia's theme (trick and magic) from there just now....hope u get it....enjoy..
An eye-for-an-eye leaves the whole world blind.
I love your comment. If there's any female character I hate in Dynasty Warriors, is Bao. She's already not supposed to be there, and her lust to just get fucked by Guan Suo gives her the personality of a dumb rich girl. Not saying all of them are, but you get my point, maybe. So many characters that could have been living instead of him and that kid with the pancake hat!
Sounds kinda like a final boss theme from Yakuza series
I'd rather him stay alive and replace Sima Zhao, I didn't quite care for him, I would have expected Sima Shi or someone else to have lived.
Who is she? I don't have dynasty warriors 7 and dynasty warriors 7 xtreme legends. Can somebody send DW 7 (PC) to me? Not by email. My internet connection speed is very low. It has 15KB/s. OR where can i get it? Help me!
It's a shame this song didn't make it into later entries in the series
actually final destination is somehow mix of teary edge + fate corrodes me on my ears
i want this songs chords !!
Is it possible for Ma Chao to die? Since everyone else already did :/
I like Ma Chao too, but fact is everyone else died, so why not him? :S
in what way my friend?
WEI 4 LIFE
Wei 4 life yow !
btw she looks gorgeous xD
Well, I'd rather prefer Liu Shan in the game than the other two. To be honest, I like Liu Shan. He's a cool character, and he proved to be smarter than Jiang Wei when he surrendered, Shu; knowing that he couldn't have saved Shu. Besides, at least he actually existed.
Hahaha all right XD who's your favourite character then?
Umm..other than Ma Chao, I'd have to say I like Zhou Tai. Both are good officers.
Oh In that case, everybody needs their priorities. Wang Yi and her family just happened to be in the way.
Look people, top comments aside, it's just how I feel. Spare me the lectures because all I see is TL;DR. All I meant was that, in anger, he did to Wang Yi's family what Cao Cao did out of conniving.
I guess it has something to do with Ma chaos revolt killing people dear to her.
Ma Chao can never die, he has the Spear of Justice! :o
lol I love the bitch walk part. I don't really like Bao either. She can be cute at times, but she's actually not that interesting, and she didn't even appear that much. I love Himiko so much more.
she name wang yi
Talk aobut motivation to join one kingdom or another. LOL!
@TheLaughiingMan That's not true!
love the piano but i want this to be a special song...if half the songs had piano it would probably ruin the battles for me
WHY WANG YI HATES MA CHAO IN A NUTSHELL
Wang Yi's husband killed Ma Chao's family.
Ma Chao killed her husband's family in retaliation (aka Wang Yi's family)
@Zhaoyun098 nonononononononononononooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's one of the things you have to give Koei with the warriors games: there are no straight out villains (well, Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu) nor Straight out heroes. it's everyone fighting for what they beleive in.
And when you think about it, Wang Yi and Ma Chao are alike. like you said, He After Cao Cao and She's after him, both out of vengence. Just Wang Yi admits it whilst Ma Chao hides it beneath 'honor' and 'Justice'. but that's war for you
i hope Wang Yi kills Ma Chao in DW8 (if it comes out of course) and reclaim her vengeance.
Makes me dislike Ma Chao in WO3: He doesn't even APOLOGIZE, or anything. how full of justice.
that isn't entirely true. Her husband killed Ma Chao's family first
