I have this on my Optimus Polaris and it rocks! Not only is it substantially quieter, the simmering adjustment is also improved by what seems an order of magnitude. Perfect for eggs, fish or just keeping your coffee pot warm. High heat levels don't seem to be affected at all in my estimation. It's a safe investment if those things are important to you.

Just received my second (replacement) cap for my Optimus Polaris. First one would underburn after few minutes of use. Disappointed that exactly the same thing is happening with the replacement 😕 This happens with white gas, Naptha. Doesn't occur with gas canisters. Lets see a video of you running it on low for 5 minutes.

Great video, thanks. By the way, what lighter is that, that you use to light the stove?

Did you have to change jet size at all? I have a primus, and I'm curious if this will change boiling time's significantly. I've seen videos where people had to downsize the jet to get it working.

I've used these on MSR and Optimus stoves, no jet size change required.

Does it matter which way the arrow faces?

    How does this affect performance?
I have not found anyone that did a boil time comparison between using the silencer and just the original stove.
I suspect that it will reduce the output of the burner, and that the silencer will soot up a bit over time depending on the fuel used...

I've used one of these with an MSR, and Optimus Hiker with
various fuels. My experience has been that it makes the stove MUCH quieter, I've never needed to re-jet the stove, but it does restrict wide open burner. It took an extra minute or so to boil a quart of water.

can you link the actual stove in the video description, or a link to a video review? I've never seen that stove, and it looks like a liquid fuel stove without all the metal sheeting of the coleman.

Here is my review of the Optimus Polaris Stove:

I have a Camp Stove playlist also with other stoves I have reviewed and use regularly.

Hi can you find company info, like contact #s besides the email? I purchased and sent emails to through rhe companies website and no responses. I made a purchase for one of these silencers. Asked for a tracking number and whether it’s shipped or not and no responses

Apollogies - we had issues with our isp at the time. Tracking nubmers sent out with each order are working.

Thanks for introducing me to these burner caps. But it looks like this is a BernieDawg imitation - right? Looking at his site it appears he really is the dog's b*** - he gets my vote.

    • @QuietStove

Nope. Not an imitation. We pioneered the one-piece deisgn. They copied us, offer no warranty, and are more expensive.

I would suggest searching for bernidawg. The one that actually came up with this burner atavhwnt.

Unfortunately his stateside sells are closed. The overseas site is selling is for 94usd plus 25 for shipping. This is 69 or 59usd. The UFO silencer is 50 bucks on the river. I'm deciding what to get for my Omnifuel.

    • @QuietStove
      @QuietStove หลายเดือนก่อน

No, they didn't "come up" with this. Nothing they did was original. But we did pioneer the one-piece design and we offer a warranty.

@@QuietStove the one bernidawg offers are also one piece design 🤷‍♂️ All I see are you guys copying his design and slapping your name on it.

@@Exstaz That is incorrect. They introduced product to the market in Q1 2011 using multiple pieces of 4130 alloy and assembled by brazing which is poor choice of materials for the application. We introduced our one-piece product using superior material in Q4 2011. Over one year later they somewhat copied us with a one-piece version and introduced it to the market in February 2013.
