  • Skincare routines are going viral these days. This all started in last 4 years and became viral. However, skincare is such an old tradition, which was done through homemade remedies. Then came the companies and replaced it all with chemicals. Now, the same companies are saying that their products have natural ingredients. Most of the skincare routines have become viral because of influencers getting money and promoting the company's products. I explain all this and much more in today's video. Stay tuned.

Moisturizer, sunscreen face wash aur bacha kya. I am 22 and I'm only wash my face with water in the morning and nothing else. Sometimes I apply raw aloevera on face. I think if we eat less fast food less salty less sugary products and apply any homemade facepack twice or thrice a month our skin will remain healthy without any product. But if you are exposed to sun for long hours in summer do apply sunscreen because last year my cheeks burned so I think this year I need to apply sunscreen.

having a skincare and being obsessed with white skin/glass skin is different, you should have mentioned this. skin is an organ which is prone to wear and tear of day to day life. taking care will make you age gracefully. me with acne prone skin at the age of 36 has become irrecoverable now. but I would like to tell all men, take care of your skin. consult a skin specialist not influence, if you have any skin related problem and follow a routine and otherwise too, follow a routine. general hygiene has a value and good habits will always make you feel good anyway.

    Skincare is extremely important!
Since I have started using facewash, face toner and face cream for face and shampoo, conditioner and oil for hair, beard oil for beard and ointments for pimples, my face feels healthier, less irritable and cleaner.
Of course, excessive use is wrong, and taking care of diet, hydration and health also falls into skincare. If you are someone who cannot afford expensive skincare products, use mustard oil for moisturising, coconut oil for hair, hali-besan for the face, etc. But take care of your skin and face.

i do not exploiate but i use a face mask with natural multani mitti and rose water to remove tanning and dead skin cells in summers.
    2.) winters :
cleaner (cetaphil gentle cleanser dry to normal )
DO NOT USE ANY TONERS IN WINTERS!
    moisturizer( nivea soft cream)
sunscreen shoud be applied 365 dayss ( la shield SPF 40)
again i don't use exfoliating scrubs at all but i use multani mutti and honey every sunday and at that night only i apply magical KUMKUMADI TAILAM which turns my skin baby soft

@supposedlyhuman there's a hell and heaven difference between maintaining hygine and trying to make yourself fair. 😂 In most cases, those 'skin care routines' you follow are actually unhealthy. The most common and easiest way to make your skin fair (or glowing in today's terminology 😆) is to make the skin thinner(and more prone to allergies/ infections etc) and hence face washes, etc have keratolytics which literally remove layers of our skin, yes even those ayurvedic and naturals creams too. As a doctor I would say the best skin care you can do is washing it regularly (preferably twice) and use soap only when needed (like when it's too dirty or too oily) all face washes etc are also fancy soaps. You're better off with a soap and a moisturizer rather than only a face wash.

Skincare refers to the practices and products used to maintain and enhance the health and appearance of the skin. It involves a routine that includes cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting the skin from various environmental factors. Unlike makeup products, which are designed to enhance aesthetics, skincare focuses on promoting skin health.
It's important to distinguish between skincare and makeup products, as they serve different purposes. Skincare aims to nourish and protect the skin, addressing concerns like hydration, aging, and UV protection. On the other hand, makeup is used for cosmetic purposes to enhance features and create different looks temporarily.
Addressing the misconception, Fair & Lovely has historically been marketed more as a cosmetic product, emphasizing skin lightening, rather than a skincare product. Skincare, in its essence, revolves around maintaining overall skin health rather than altering its natural color. It's crucial for consumers to be aware of these distinctions to make informed choices for their skincare routines.

In my opinion if something is heavily marketed, doesn't necessarily means the underlying problem it is intended to addressing is false. Those home made remedies that have been used as skincare have been used since ancient times, the stuff just got capitalised .
Honestly most people today would rather not use skincare than make homemade remedies. Tried resorting to homemade remedies myself, it's a lot more hassle and demotivating.

Comparing skincare routines from earlier days is irrelevant because in today's urban environment, with increasing pollution and stress levels, it's essential to use appropriate skincare products. It's important to distinguish skincare from makeup. Additionally, makeup companies produce foundations for a range of Indian skin tones, not solely catering to fair skin. The desire is for a flawless, even-toned appearance when going out. Rather than criticizing companies, it's more constructive to promote Indian startups and businesses. Their products undergo clinical testing and verification, ensuring safety. The key is to select the right product for your skin type.

In my opinion these cosmetic industries are solely based on our insecurities which originates from our society , talking about Korea , they have the most unrealistic beauty standards , we often try to blame people for using this much and promoting these items , but we fail to call out those standards which gives rise to these insecurities. People of our society openly shame celebrities for makeup, lip fillers, hair transplant etc, but then same People call out other celebrities for their age , wrinkles , and what not . We as a society are hypocrites . Lemme tell you an example , one of my friend used to support me whenever I felt bad for my skin colour , she used to say , no you're beautiful, and what not . Some days later her family was searching for a bride for his brother , and then she straight away rejected a girl solely because of her colour by saying I don't want a black bride for my brother . All of this conversation happened in front of me , this is hypocrisy.

There's a hell and heaven difference between maintaining hygine and trying to make yourself fair. You're better off with a soap and a moisturizer rather than only a face wash.😅

Also this "peptides" marketing that has recently started, like how can peptides infilterate our skin their size is bigger than the pores of our different layers of skin....it is quite funny because we used to mug up the names and structures of different types of peptides 11 and 12 in the chapters Biomolecules and Polymers, they are basically strings of amino acids. @supposedlyhuman 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Peptides and ceramides build the blocks of your epidermis. The cell membrane is made up of protein which are amino acids. And a healthy barrier is ultimately equal to beautiful, healthy skin which even helps in anti-ageing. I think you probably studied only the chapters and couldn't learn more about your own body i mean 99% of science students don't do that since they lack capability or sense for that. The only thing that fits into your description is collagen which is a total gimmick for sure.

@@supposedlyhuman You mean to say Barrier Protection, I understand, But I guess you misunderstood me a bit, the product descriptions says it gets absorbed to the deep layers of our skin which is scientifically not possible and also other than sunscreen for shielding the barrier protection concept has till now not been scientifically proven, but companies still market it with attractive animations and influencers. Rest whatever you said about the cell membrane is true that our cell membrane is made up of mainly lipids, some transport and channel proteins, and some charging sugars and some types of cholesterols.
Otherwise if I have gone wrong somewhere feel free to say.☺

    • @supposedlyhuman
      @supposedlyhuman 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@user-36392ohh. I never got to see written on any peptide based product ' it goes to deeper layers' so i couldn't approve of your statement.
Well, peptides with regular application does help your skin with anti-ageing to the deeper layers because your skin on exposure to essentials of it, bio-convert it to a more soluble and simpler form to be absorbed. For example- ethyl ascorbic acid to ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate to 40-50% of ascorbic acid, provitamins to vitamins, niacinamide to vitamin b, jojoba oils lipids (ceramides) to ceramides, fats present in oils to phospholipids and glycolipids. All these leads to plumper, hydrated skin. And hydration is the key element for health of your skin, it's all in one. Your skin can fight anything but not dehydration. Incorporating antioxidants to your diet and skincare routine helps in with fighting free radicals which further depletes collagen sooner if not combatted. Free radicals are found in the environment, metabolic wastes,bi-products, through uv rays and poor diet.

This video was a little bit misleading from my experience and studies i have done. Everything related to those creams and influencer marketing is true. But we're forgetting those natural ingredients have chemical compounds in them only, not every chemical is bad otherwise you wouldn't be advised to put oils on your face, consume vitamin tablets. Iodine is a chemical element, yet it is shown to possess anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties, it's equally needed for your thyroid gland. Plum goodness and many recent brands with advanced research and development are trustworthy me and many others have tried and trusted them, they work obviously not for everyone it's subjective. Turmeric has curcumin (diferuloylmethane) in it responsible for it's anti-inflammatory properties, why isn't it calked a chemical yet? Why are spices since ancient times used in food due to their antioxidant properties, what are antioxidants? Chemicals. Korean products are popular due to k-pop and drama for sure, but those products are elegant, they're full of natural plant-based ingredients which they have used since ancient times. The difference between natural and chemical is, when we hear natural we think it of as a safe ayurvedic ingredient while when it's chemical we think it of as fake and harmful, basically a fight between alopathy and ayurved or science vs beliefs. I think the main agenda of this video should've been fairness creams, influenza virus and the marketing of brands which claim themselves as safe and natural and buy imaan of social media influencers to sell their products and the common public and consumers falling into the trap & over-consumption (consumerism) of human beings. Targeting skincare routine as a whole wasn't justified or say the title is just for engagement.

@openletteryt Dude, there is a difference between skincare and cosmetic beauty. I'm a guy, and I started to follow a skincare routine, and it really improved my skin conditions. Additionally, it boosts my self-confidence. So there is nothing wrong with following a skincare routine.

Weather conditions, food habits were way too different in 80's and 90's. With the increase in pollution, adulteration in food, depletion in ozone layer you need a good skin care routine to protect your skin. These days skincare is not about fairness, skincare is to reduce any dark spots or pigmentation, provide hydration and protection. So some brands are coming up science backed ingredients along with natural ingredients to give you best results. I've been suffering with acne. Using neem or multani mitti or milk didn't help me but using salicylic acid reduced the acne in just 2 day and now after using salicylic acid continuously my skin breakouts rarely. So if your suffering with skin problem skin care will help you out but no skincare will make you fair. It just reduces tan and dark spots and make you glow in your original skin tone and that is all we want. We don't want bhootiya fair and lovely look oh sorry glow and lovely 😅😆

I can proudly say I apply absolutely nothing on my skin except soap while bathing, and still my skin is as good as anyone if not better. I always advocate against using such products to my friends but sadly marketing has normalised exposing our skins to such unnecessary chemicals that the ordinary person thinks it is necessary to do so.

I think to some extent the companies are fooling you but also what they are selling is convenience. We can all go and buy the natural alternatives like haldi ,chandan, amla etc but it is time consuming. Also then you need to make a paste combining these things which needs additional time. So what the companies are selling is convenience by giving you a complete product sometimes making unethical claims. I think nowadays even the natural things are not that natural, they have been altered to some extent which kind of defeats the purpose.
