Over 60’s lady here. Did it all solo except refitting panel because of re attaching button wiring. Had to break ALL clips but what the heck! Big thank you for this, it will be a game changer. Go for it people.
If it helps anyone, if you have the opening window you can remove the insert panel covering the windscreen wiper motor (one long screw) I found it made it easier to refit the main panel first then the little insert cover, working on my own. It also allows easy access to the inside top of the main panel.
Those clips are a nightmare - broke loads when working on my old van! (Citroen Relay). Luckily picked up a load of them beforehand from Ebay for spares. Now got a Peugeot Partner Teepee, planning to do this mod over the winter.
The panel just pulls off. But it puts up a huge fight. You can get panel removal tools that help. Look like a flat inverted pair of pliers that help to pop the clips out the holes. I didn't have 1 so just brute forced it. And managed to break every clip... So make sure you have some replacements ready
Only broke 6 clips? Amature, I managed to break every single one of the bloody things XD. Lucky I have a bag of bumper clips from a Ford Ka which are almost identical

Yes that definitely helps, and on all of the subsequent ones I've done with an opening window, I have removed that small panel.
Yeah, we got one fitted for our back door by my mechanic.
So useful.
Great modification 👍
Very good instructions.
What is the name / supplier for the clips ? For joining the wires, Wago 221 lever lock clips would be a neat alternative.

Break for fun don’t they! Good luck👍and thanks for the comment 🙂
Quick question - did you just PULL the panel off, or did you need to use any tools to assist it's removal?
