Oh, Mike… you are taking my language! I have started flipping more PC’s in the last few months. For new builds, this has been my “go to” card. It is great! It does very well at 1080p gaming, and it even has Ray Tracing capabilities. Thanks for the great review!
yeah at the moment the rx6600 is a really good option for the new market. otherwise you are looking at a used gtx1080 which likely won't have a long lifespan and lacks the power efficiency of the radeon
It's not going to really do heavy RT but you can at least try stuff like Indiana at console settings using RT for calculating lighting or whatever it's doing at 30fps. Forza 8 you can run a little RT with decent settings, F1 etc. For everything raster it's an amazing first card for a teen, so many great old games out there it'll run Ultra.
Thanks, Mike! 🙏🏼 I'm actually genuinely impressed. I'm strictly a 1080p gamer, and for that I use my XFX RX 6950 XT. (I also have an RX 6750 XT and an RX 6800. 😝) What I pay the most attention to are the frame *times* when gaming, more so than the frame _rates,_ and that cheapie RX 6600 is no slouch when it comes to those (smooth as butter, really). Very nice, especially for what it costs! 👍🏼
When this was launched I recall it got slated for only using 8x lanes but was superior to the nvidia as that only used 4x pci lanes. Since avoided these gpus & wanted the back plate for finish & protection! Run PowerColor RX6700XT (Hellhound) & RX5700XT (Red Devil) but ended up gaming at 1080p! After your review I have to conclude this would be a great card to replace kids gpus for FHD (RX570/GTX1050TI) as the results speak for themselves, quite impressed 2bh! Great value at that price for sure! Hope you get to compare with new intel entry level gpu. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath. Merry Christmas to you and your family 😺👍🎅🥂
Right after crypto dried up I picked up six 6600XT Red Devils for $128 each total. They served my rigs well and down to one left now in the MediaPC. Sold the rest of them as I came across good 6700XT/6750XT/6800XT/6900XT/6950XT deals. Paired with a 7600x/x670/32gb CL30 6000MT it does great on 4k targeting 60fps vsync enabled. Kids as I type this are playing 2 player GOAT Sim 3 Multiverse. Locked at 60fps 4k all settings maxed.

There's me saying how much I loved my RX6600 MSI Armor V1 card, it decided to fry itself on me a few days ago, I sent it back as it's still under warranty, it's a good job I have a Ryzen 7 5700G cpu, at least I can still play a few games while I'm waiting for a replacement, bloody typical
I really wish the board partners like XFX and Powercolor would step up their game when it comes to the aesthetic design and argb lights of their cards. Sapphire and Asrock know how to give their cards some flair.
Makes no sense for a card targeting budget buyers to add cost by adding useless features like RGB elements and the like. The PowerColor cards in the budget segment tend to be the absolute best performing compared to other brands, which is what a budget buyer cares about, aka performance per dollar.
@@theexile4694 Guess what exile, not everyone shops like you. Marketing teams know many "gamers" want lights. So some cards come with them as it appeals to a portion of the market. Was now you can get an Intel a A750 and A770 for just over £169, £235 uo at Overclockers. Some of their pricing is better than CEX the second hand store. CCL gpu price today are criminal and they have no Intel card in stock either. I'm waiting on new year CES and watching them try to shift these at the scalping prices here over the last 4 years or more.
I was gritting my teeth on this card until you said it had a 128-bit bus. I was thinking it might have a 64-bit bus. Thanks for sharing Mike and Lady Kath. The best part of this review is when you blasted that chicken with the shotgun in CS2. 😅 Take care all and have a great week. Cheers
Take a 1440p monitor. 1440p = 2560x1440. Divide each axis by 2, an integer, aka a whole number. 2560/2 = 1280. 1440/2 = 720. 1280x720 = 720p. Use this GPU, with a 1440p monitor, and use the 720p resolution, ultra settings = Amazing time, even with the latest titles and even some ray tracing. If the game supports FSR... Use that, in performance mode, while using the native resolution, enjoy the card and all its amazing glory, even though it only has 8 GB of VRAM, which honestly isnt enough for 1080p these days.
@@mikesunboxing I agree with you , I get mine of this guy on ebaywho just use them for his business and never overclocks them . Me myself i undervolt them and it is a fantastic gpu . Generally with gaming a gpu can last up to 10 years . so i have another 5 with it and save cash for a good one . great with 1080p and 1440p , the more you think you can see higher fps . i doubt very much they can not see far beyond 300

It has Ray Tracing capabilities, but you wouldn't want to try and use them. Still a good little 1080p rasterised card though.

gets the job done nicely and at the price i paid you can't complain

merry christmas to you all!
I paid £150 for the MSI Armor V1 version of the RX6600, I think it's a great little card for 1080 gaming, I'm very happy with it :)
good price!
Seems like a decent card. I've been using a RX 580 which I also considered a budget friendly card, at least at the time of purchase.
rx580 is a modern classic

Good to know how many units were sold before restock?
You think the B570 will replace it as the go-to GPU for budget builds?
depends on price, if it is under £200 it might stand a chance
My son has an RX6600 playing at 1080p and is capable for what he plays. May look to get him an intel B580 when needs an upgrade.
yeah the b580 looks good, and hopefully i will be able to show that if OCUK ever manage to delivery the dang thing

yeah it is a pretty good card and at the right price it makes a lot of sense for a little budget gaming card
paired this card with a 3500x and 16gb on b450 mortar for a £300 christmas build. PCIE gen 3 not ideal but for the money 🤷
A few pounds more buys you the excellent rx6650xt.
yeah that is always the problem with the few dollars more trap :-)
Do I feel like going AMD though?
yeah AMD isn't ideal for everyone
Beautiful GPU. Gaming is having lots of problems, I mean Developers and companies... So today, grab the GPU you can afford, you ll be OK.
Thanks Mike❤
thanks for watching
Thats a very good review. and the GPU use less power. i like that 👍
Thanks MUN HQ 😀
No problem 👍hope you all have a great Christmas
Hey Mike, is there a link to join the discord server I need some help with my pc. Thanks

What a bargain. I'd have bought two at that price. Of course they are now out of stock. Scan has them at £180.
£180 isn't bad, but it does make the Intel B580 look tempting
Awesome, a new doorstop. 😂
haha maybe for some
5700xt card is 15% faster mike 1080 or 1440 its the sweet spot for them
hard to buy one new these days though for sensible money
