Just recently got into this game, and your tutorials have helped me so much! Edit: I succeeded! On shiners with a 10/0 hook, I fought and landed a enormous 42 pound unique northern pike!
St Croix Unique northern pike sunny 5am to 9 am and 7pm to 8pm. partly overcast 10am to 1 pm. overcast 8am to 12pm

3/4 oz 3/0 casting spoons, 1oz 5/0 buzzbait, poppers, jerkbait any color, crankbait green 8ft costs coins....all work for pike and muskie here if you were like me and got here early by way of purchasing a boat pack. bought the metalhead or metal something pack for $25, came with a 20lb se pole, 20lb fluro and some cranks and jerkbaits, boat and other goodies like a pass for michigan. i was power leveling here after the purchase. gained like 4 levels super fast and tons of cash.

i use skelehand rod and ghost 5000 reel,25 lb line..its a matched setup,it works ok for pike at michigan

Nice vid Jake. Glad to see you finally went to Michigan :-) Your money problems are over now. Is there specific reason you use your top-water lures at 2 speed ? 2 Speed always feels to fast for me on top water
thanks Wikus, good to finally be here. I reel at 2 because of line slack. I twitch my topwaters, causing lineslack, and thats when I usually get hits. Slack in the line makes it difficult to set the hook. Reel speed of 2 helps me pick the slack up quicker.
Cool , I'll give the 2 speed a go on top water. I get a lot of miss hits on them
I feel it's kind of an expensive trip 10k to travel for the 1st day and 8k licenses only having 154lbs fish net you gotta spend time out here

Hmm so far not making much money 1st day see what the 2nd day brings. I did catch a Trophy Clear Muskie it paid 1,617 or 1, 716 in money. Other fish not paying much right now. I'm using a crankbait as well not as big as the 1 your using tho. That looked too big I thought. But the game has had so many updates :(. Maybe the trophy and Unique fish aren't as plentiful. Love the game I broke down and bought the heavy setup to come to Michigan. Now for a Trophy Blue Catfish lol. Thanks this video helped.

Hello. I got many strikes on topwater, but in Michigan my hook up ratio plunged from approx. 90% (Everglades) to 10%. I can imagine, some of those hits are from perch as they are to small for frogs (I did catch some trophy Yellow Perch on them, but still). Would you care to tell me when or how you set the hook on this lake? After 140 hours in-game and thousands of fish it seems fish here take me to the school 🤣

Crank baits I usually cast out and retrieve at a reel speed of 1. sometimes I'l stop and let it float to the top, then continue to reel it back in, at a steady retrieve, of 1.

Jake using that dlc setup as well as the Brutus setup is overkill for catching trophy and unique northern pike. Use your fenix 14'10" coupled with a Lineglider 4000. Both are rated at 22lbs and combined with 20lb floro line its an almost unstoppable combo. I just caught a 40lb unique northern pike 10 min ago using that setup. Ditch the fatboy slim and get a Lineglider 4000. You wont regret it. Cheers Bro
It's not overkill when its the only equipment you have and can afford lol. The Fenix broke in one of my streams. I already have the lineglider on the brutus. Good lookin' out though.

Fish Pike for money and bring plenty of shiners with you. Shiners aren't sold at the lake's shop.

Is it just me or is st croix broken? You either catch pike or you sit there for 45 minutes and nothing. Like I don’t understand. Literally any other map I get bites every 3-5 minutes.
Did they fix the game? Last time i played it was almost impossible to land a fish.

If you have the right equipment, sure. I'd make sure you have a rod and reel that can handle the big pike, muskie, and blue catfish in there, as well as a large enough keepnet to make a profit there. I would recommend having the fish castle 440 lb keepnet before going to Michigan.

i know it's 2 years later, but i had to ask you something. do you walk up on other fishermen in real life and cast right over their lines, like a complete asshole? or do you only do it on these online fishing games? just wondering.
in this game the lines don't touch other lines, so no problem
And another year later and I feel compelled to point out that due to your ability in this game to change the time... the fact that it appears that you are standing next to someone and casting were they are means nothing... They could be fishing at 2 AM on Tuesday (day two) while you're fishing at 4 pm Friday (day 5). So it really doesn't matter that you're casting in the same spot because he's only an image of someone who was there three days ago...
