It would be cool if that Cat species got a discount on NPC shops instead of the rewind ability.
Love the mod so far! Truffle is really fun and it's healing can really come in clutch in fights

Perhaps you can tone down the number of races that have teleports
I think the merman should have something like the honey buff but for water, cause let's be real, dealing with water or liquids in a boss fight and in multiplayer can be quite annoying to set up, but if it works like honey where you can have a little bit in the arena and gives you a buff to fight, it would make the race more fun to play as.
I think fish bowl can be used so you don't die, but it takes up helmet slot

Vampire is actually very op. You can summon your minions before morphing into the bat and get that massive buff that stays while you are in that form. (That basically let's you kill bosses in seconds...as it's meant to stay active for like two seconds) It feels like playing as assassin or something.

I loved this mod in 1.3. I still prefer it in that version, as the races had more unique and interesting stats. They may not have had any abilities, but said abilities are completely broken on some of the races anyway. Still a mod I can't play without to this day
Hard agree with this, hopefully they fine tune the balancing in the future.
Can confirm, spam-clicking the slash ability on wendigo makes most weapons fire at high speeds. Sniper rifle & shotgun now obliterate everything

Some races are super broken but I'm actually thinking about installing this and doing a quick playthrough with some of these, especially the lihzard and kobold ones
Kobold is *so* fun istg, because the mines that you set can and will knock you back, which is irritating when you want to stay in one place, but it also means that you can absolutely rocket jump, which is e p i c . Little tip as well, all types of mines will damage blocks only when you are holding a pickaxe, which makes the mines confusing to use without knowing it.

I loved this mod when i played it before and this showcase is amazing, i love all the new races
I honestly think something like this should be in the game. Being able to play as a different species sounds cool, expecially if you can be something like a slime or maybe something similar to plantera, being able to have slightly good abilities. It would also be awesome if we had new character animations that made it a bit more expressive.
Yeah like in calamity after you kill a boss you get their lore in this after killing a mob or mid level boss (unless you wanna be moon-lord lol) you could unlock their dna or something close
this mod is fun but some of the class bonuses are way too overpowered. like wendigo for example is busted cause it can move through blocks straight away and has a powerful melee attack. On the other hand, my first playthrough with this was vampire which was a challenge.
@Joaquim Duarte Toledo luckily i had a friend to help me but especially in early game i died so much, especially to the gensokyo mod bosses. plus i was melee, which i dont think is the best class for vampire

Yeah I played this blind and picked Wendigo because of how cool the missile ability sounded, and it made prehardmode a joke.

Honestly, my favorite is the Kenku. It has only one bad effect and it has really cool abilities.
I feel some of the races could have more unique abilities, a lot of them just boil down to different flavors of teleport.

XD The "gamer" class
I've played a decent amount with dragonkin and it's REALLY overpowered. The smoke damage destroys everything and can be used in almost any situation, bosses are easy, random enemies are easy, and events are a cakewalk since the smoke goes where your cursor is (including through walls) plus you can spam it, and it scales with defense so it's useful for the whole playthrough.
You should do the new beginnings mod, it makes starting the game more unique with the new "background stories" for your terraria character. Some of them are pretty special
so far the other addons that add more races are mine, Tianic’s, and Crystal Dragons, which all the dragons are really cool and have crazy abilities like Plague’s
Okay, so basically this mod turns Terraria into "Starbound except way better but without planet system"
Species idea time:
*Druid*
An extinct race, rarely found, as their race was massacred.
First ability: purification mode, get a round area of effect that purifies any world evil and corrupted folk, like the tortured soul, crimson/corruption bunny, etc, can be enabled and disabled.
Second ability: friend of the nature, basically Guide to critter companionship but you dont lose one inventory slot, can be enabled and disabled.
Pros:
+ 20% magic and summon damage
+ 10% luck
+ 15% max mana
Cons:
- 10% health
- 5% defense
- 20% melee and ranged damage
but druid is a class not a race

Okay, lets go on terraria canon, no mods allowed.
So, if druids were a class in terraria, why would there be only one druid that is alive cannonicaly?
If i remember correctly, classes cant go extinct, so there should be more than 1 druid in the whole game.
@@doverboy1 we don't know any of the other classed npc too since they are the only npc in the game (and normally in these kind of games there are 1 npc per class since you don't need more)

I always play as a vampire. It's just like playing with Vampirism on Minecraft but in 2D. Oh and that's kinda obvious that I'd play as that. And then I take over the world and fight with my little sister.

My favourite is the kenku becausenyou get wings thag svale with health and you can move so fast that it is basically the best for movement
Pretty cool concept, I remember the original video and they seem to have done a pretty good job for most of them, unfortunate that they got a bit repetitive at the end
goblin race is insanely OP reforge enough times with any weapon and it can kill moonlord in 5 hits or less!!

Some the goblin modifications sound busted with fast weapons, might try it just to be goblin, it would also be really cool in multiplayer reforging your friends weapons and stuff
They have a 1-2 second cooldown but yeah it's crazy. Damage is meh tho

I tried to use the dragon in calamity mod some time ago...
It wasn't very easy not to end the fight in 2 attacks, it's a little over powered
Using dragonborns breath or whatever on eater of worlds is INSANE
it kinda reminds me of skyrim where you have to pick what race is your character on the start of the game XD

something that was missed was if the fluftrodron is jumping and there's a tree with a branch under it when they go to jump again they do a wall jump.

subclasses i made up for console terraria (bc no mods) are frog and werewolf(/mermaid cause sun and moon charm can be mixed), theyre both in the swashbuckler class which is a melee type referring to fast, hard to hit, and most of the time, weak, like fox from smash,

goblin and dragon are op, the goblin reforges for accsesories are broken for speed and there is one that gives you a revive

Tried a run with a friend, unfortunately the stats for the races are busted. 15% becomes 150%, I'm guessing maybe the mod has the number set to 15.0% but the "." is ignored in code, becoming 150%. Races that have - % Damage are stuck doing 1 damage per attack for a majority of the game, making them unplayable. Others are busted with their damage increase. Mod hasn't been updated last I checked ( Before this video, unsure if it has been now ). Fun, but not usable.

Can we get mod race that gains passive buff different from each race. Like this race gain +5 defense per progress or this race gains 1% melee speed and movement speed per progress or a race that gains 0.01% damage per kill
This mod would be so much better if it actually spawned you in the biome that the species is native too. But I guess that’s pretty difficult to code
I'm going to have to get this mod. I'd be down for further exploration of other race mods.

Kenku, although popularized by D&D, do not originate from D&D and actually originate from mythology.
In their original mythology they were both capable of speaking and flight, D&D took them and added the lore of the demon lord Pazuzu cursing them when one stole from him so they may no longer have wings and all their words must be the replicated sounds of others no longer able to create original sounds.
