I think there is some misunderstanding of the translation. In Japanese, Erwin says "兵士よ怒れ/叫べ/戦え". which is, roughly, "my soldiers rage/scream/fight". I think "push forward" is fight. They changed the order maybe to have better sync with the visual. Fight and Rage are both used in both versions. Push forward is better for Erwin because it makes more sense in the situation, tatakae is a more broad term than fight. I guess "fight on" would work as well.

Now that anime is receiving everywhere in the world the respect that it deserves, "dub then" and "dub now" are on whole different levels. Even as a Japanese I find some dubs even better than the original time to times.
Dub in this scene is absolutely amazing. I am sure that every Erwin (every voice actor of Erwin) can feel the magnificent emotion of “Erwin” in this scene thus lead them to outperform themselves ever before. This is how great story writing and OST is for this scene.
John Michael Tatum is a gem. He can make a leader, a mad scientist, a merchant, and I haven't watched enough to know them all. He not only prefroms these to their peak, but he directs a lot of stuff he is in, localizing and tons more behind the scene! Love them both but JMT for me
While, "Because my soldiers do not buckle or yield when faced with the cruelty of this world" sounds cool, "That is the sole method in which we can rebel against this cruel world" is one of the deepest and most haunting line of dialogue ever.

People be hating on anime dubs in general, say that dub voice actors aren't as talented as Japanese ones, etc. But then you see something like this and it's baffling people can hate. I watched AoT in dub and that speech had me crying AND pumped. That delivery made me want to get a tattoo of that ending part.
the issue some people have is the quality and talent sometimes aren't as uniform. Take AoT for example, Erwin is absolutely fucking AMAZING in the dub but Eren himself is hit or miss, and i personally can't stand english Armin most of the time. However dubs in recent years tend to be much better across the board than 15-20 years ago.

The small change in pitch when he said "push forward" in the dub was a nice little touch, it's in the same vein as Goku's scream when it suddenly cracked during his x10 SSJB Kaioken power up against Hit in the dub. That's when dubs take the clear lead, really helps to sell the emotions happening in scenes like these.
Both are good, bcuz they both make us feel inspired, it just sounds good to ur native language bcuz we have good voice actor that know how to make the viewer feel the emotions of the character.
I’m going to have to give it to the US this time. The original dubbing just had the same tone throughout the whole speech with no inflections or anything really. I don’t know how someone could be flat when yelling, but here we are🤷🏻♂️
