@ekimshield asstriks is worse. Yes black Sox was playing to lose for a reason, they wanted a salary that was fair so they stuck it to the owner. What the asstriks did was cheat everyone else. They "won" without deserving it. Both the Yankees and dodgers had a better team that year. Without the cheating they would have lost to both teams.

The guy who he got the ball from probably was no secret the rule book was original. It was just something that would go along with memorabilia from that era is all.

I don't get it. Rick says someone will come in and beat him down to 1,400 for the ball. Wouldn't that be Ricks fault? You don't have to sell it at what your customers want it for. Smh!

More information has been discovered about salaries in 1919. The White Sox actually had the highest payroll in the American League that year.

One appraiser told him two thousand. Rick is going to put it’s up for two thousand and after 90days will probably sell it for 1300 to 1500. It’s a pawn shop not a charity.

Rick needs to get a signature specialist with baseballs and memorabilia most of the time these can be forged. He needs to make sure that ball is not a forgery. 1930s balls are signed with fountain pins and ink wells if a felt pen or ballpoint is used the ball is fake.

The FIRST thing I noticed when they showed us the rule book was that it had white pages. It looks BRAND NEW. I thought he was tossing it into the deal as a novelty not as an antique. Any dummy knows pages yellow with time. Did the seller REALLY think it was an original 1919 publication?
