    Local guy with an excavator thought he could underbid us doing land clearing along a ditch, we use dozers with clearing blades, well he ended up almost killed when a two and half foot diameter cottonwood fell back on his cab and pinned him in there for over two hours before he could reach his phone and call for help. Get the right tool for the job! You don't call a plumber to do a roofing job with a pipe wrench do you? lol

    I would check the fuel filter first, if i remember right theres a filter where the gas line goes in the carb. Also running only with fuel poured in the card is indicitive of a clogged main jet,and check float level and needle seat.

    Check that gas is coming up to the carburetor and the filter is clean , then see if you can get a rebuild kit for it . This carburetor is super simple to rebuild , a can of brake cleaner and a air compressor to blow it out . Make sure the needle valve and float are working , simple rebuild ! And I'd use used motor oil and maybe some diesel fuel on them beams . P>S> Looks like you need some experienced help ? Good luck !

    19:20 A little crossover tip from the Ford inline 6 mechanics... make sure that exhaust heat box doesn't have pinholes through to the intake side. If it does it's a vacuum leak and makes carb tuning absolutely heinous because it'll also suck exhaust which can be cool to hot....
    Also, got proper fuel pressure? Give gravity feed a shot and see if it runs longer.

    • @exploringabandonedmines
      @exploringabandonedmines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been thinking about it.

    • @2rbeck
      @2rbeck 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Timber is the least effective ground support system you have. The portal probably should be cleaned out of timber. Bolted and screened with a mix of expansion shell bolts and resin grouted rebar. If there is still an issue, get a contractor to spray with shotcrete or gunnite. You can then put the timber back for show.

    • @exploringabandonedmines
      @exploringabandonedmines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@2rbeck In ground like that I would have to disagree. Drilling rock that is that fractured is dangerous and makes it even more unstable. I have been in dozens of mines that have had rock bolts fail. I am not a fan of them. More for show I would say. They might be cheaper and faster but not better than timbering.
