The Grand Voyager offers loads of space and ingenious fold-away rear seats. Its classy image means decent residual values, too.
The diesel engine is underpowered and the interior quality is rather disappointing.

A car that can fold all the seats down making it a van with huge space is bonkers! So much practicality more than makes up for the reviewer’s gripes about handling: for a vehicle this size, it doesn’t matter.

Do you not know anything these cars are the most reliable in their class. Certainly more than a Renault Espace

ouch the backlash on this faulty review is earned though. this car may be heavy and relatively slow, and perhaps not the prettiest car in the park, but, people dont buy this type of car for a pretty car. The truth however is that this car is cheap for all that it has and cant beat its practicality. Another thing is, to what is it compared to? Compare it to a maybach and sure, it's not as classy and comfortable. However, compare it to a similarly priced competitor - let's go with a Renault Espace, and the Renault loses out big time. The newest Espeace may look fantastic, but let's keep it era-correct. The Espace of that same year on the outside looks okay and a bit fresher, but inside, the only thing the Renault has going for it is the bigger windows and as such more panoramic views. The interior of the Renault is absolutely horrendously cheap plastic. It looks more spacious but the material and colour just ruin it. Also, the front seats might be fine in the espace, when you go for the rear seats, and especially the 3rd row, then there is no comparison , especially on longer journeys - the renault is not so comfortable for adults (especially older ones) on the long run in the back, especially row 3. The Voyager however is absolutely perfect in every seat even on extremely long journeys.
And the voyager gets even more fun on the long run - second hand. Its much cheaper than the Renault, despite having way less mileage. And the renault engines don't do well with longer mileage. I would actually say the Chrysler engines generally do better. Only fuel economy is a bit better for the Renault.
Another fun part is that the Chrysler also is great as a practicle VAN, especially for 'workers'. You can put the seats in the floor, and treat the inside the same as you would as with a Volkswagen Transporter. the costs to make it bespoke inside will be the same so that's not worth looking at. However, the Grand Voyager provides the same interior space (as long as its single cab), but is a LOT cheaper than the VW transporter. You generally save from 3000 to 6000 euros, and even then most VW's have higher mileage - and most transporter drivers think they're vin diesel, and dont treat those cars with even the slightest amount of love or care. They're generally trashed, whereas most Grand Voyagers have been maintained very properly, and driven softly.
And i have yet to find a vw transporter that has automatic sliding doors - and driving a voyager is very calm and silent inside, whereas a transporter sounds like a truck race.

What else can fit 7 adults in relative comfort and still have room for the shopping or holiday luggage behind the third row plus transform the interior into a spacious large loadlugger with the 5 rear Stow'N'Go seats folded into the floor? Not many others.

I brought a 2008 diesel for £900 in mint condition. Will be using it as a van for a home renovation project. Brilliant vehicle and easy to service and maintain!

It is nearly the same, only with upgraded materials. However right hand drive versions have the gear lever on the floor, as it is more confortable for UK motorists, and it is a less expensive solution as well for the conversion
