- SCP-1548 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as The Star, the Hateful.
Is SCP 1548 trying to help save the universe? Or is it a malicious entity that only wants to destroy it? The SCP Foundation and the O5 Council must find out, or it may be the end for humanity and all of existence as we know it. SCP1548 is the designation of various anomalous solar phenomena, primarily occurring at the south pole of the Sun, but there's much, much more to it than that.

For those who don't know, SCP-1548 was originally a hostile star making it's way towards earth, simultaneously capable of communicating and conversing in morse code through burst of radiation (which, considering it's distance, would suggest a level of precognition). The author, however, chose to leave the site, and took his articles with him, including the original 1548.
EDIT: For those who want to see the original, the author touched it up (and gave it a potty-mouth) and posted it on the RPC Authority wiki as RPC-548.

As the Omega entity is passing Jupiter, SCP 2399 sees it and says “Oh hell no! Destroying Earth is MY thing you fucking poser!!” It blasts that black eel-ish looking thing from the face of existence and releases octopods to do a surprisingly impressive victory dance around the remains of its corpse. SCP 1548 forms the symbol of a thumbs up from the sun.
The human race stares in utter confusion after witnessing their sun give a thumbs up to an alien warship that apparently has been training its octopod robots to dance in preparation for victory in a battle with what can only be called a black space eel monster... After this, nothing will ever surprise the human race again... but damn those octopods can dance!

For those who don't know 1548 orginal name was:"the hateful star"and was originally a hostile star going to vaporize earth but for some reason the author sort of vanished along with the original 1548 so this version of 1548 was created
The author of original 1548 has a disagreement with SCP site moderators.
So he deleted it and moved it to RPC Authority, it was named as RPC 548.

Ironic how scp 1548 is sun who is protecting our solar system but in the end of the world proposal know as 'when days breaks' sun is the ultimate destroyer of the planet in scp universe.
I mean at least one of those thaumaturgical symbols was the mother of all deadman switches, meaning when the sun goes down, it's going to obliterate everything around it for a hell of a distance anyway besides what a regular whole-entire-star does naturally.

Just so Newer fans know, prior to it's revision, SCP-1548 was "The Hateful Star", a star sending threatening messages to earth while heading Straight Towards it. This document was eventually moved into the Explained archive, while the original designation was filled up by this. In my opinion, The Hateful Star was much more popular.

Even if the light of the stars from there is a shitton of lightyears away and thus our perception of them not up to date, the probe apparently stated that there was NOTHING save for those 2 other stars.

Purpose of SCP-1548 is mainly to protect what is left. It protects humanity as humanity is diverse and have some good and some bad, but not bad to destroy everything like the stuff destroying the universe. The shield will hold until the sun burns out

This means that you can choose what is cannon for yourself, and even write about SCPs in that universe. They may even get a designation in the SCP wiki if they are popular enough.

I imagine that the protective barrier being formed is scp 179s brother sun trying to keep her and those she watches over safe. I also believe that 1548 was beginning to pulse faster because the creature might have been making a move towards 179.

The song is from the point of view of a person who is struggling, and he has a vision where the moon speaks to him. The moon tells him that as bright as it is, the light is not his own (it's the sun's light), the message (that I get) being we are all connected and given life from the same source. It's a beautiful song.

Because the non-canonity of the scp universe makes sure that the 'star' scp gets to do whatever it wants. In this case, 343 might not even exist.
The alternate universes of the scpverse might as well be an scp itself, one that keeps making alternate realities where the doomsday plot succeeds.

To me, this is one of the single most terrifying SCPs out there. Two of the smaller creatures penetrate the shield, resulting in the destrucion of 2 planets and a dwarf planet, implying that if one of the big ones got through, there might not be any way to salvage anything. However, the biggest horror lies in the fact that humanity is now confirmed to be on the extinction list, as the rest of the universe is gone. Even if we colonized the other planets, our resources have now become terrifyingly finite, and like the video implies, so has our time. Sure, the shield shows no signs of weakening so far, but it leaves humanity completely at its mercy, with no other hope for survival should it ever fall or even temporarily falter. It's interesting to see that two other stars remain because it raises the question of whether there are more like scp1548, holding out against the ever-enroaching darkness. This also raises the horrible prospect that there were MORE of scp1548, but that as of now, at most only 3 remain, with the others eventually fallin to a horror so vast, even the power of a sentient star could not survive forever. Basically this SCP is simply a warning that we're screwed no matter what, because this new enemy is so incomprehensibly formidable, that we could not hope to survive it even if we turned every last piece of what remains of our solar system into weapons and ammunition. Even if we used up all possible resources, there's far too many of them, far too powerful, for us to stand a chance at survival.

Agreed. What's 343, any of the 001s, 2317, 3999, the hanged king, or any other scps so powerful even gods would have to take them seriously, in comparison to a catastrophe so powerful that not even the Universe could survive it.
I wonder if even the Scarlet King would be capable of surviving 1548 terrifying army. As a theory, let's assume that the Scarlet King were to enslave every humanity in every timeline, only killing those necessary to deepen the infinite timeline's humanities of him and his cruelty, allowing him to reach a state of power that even the likes of 343, the deer god, the hanged king, the sealed king, the devourer of worlds, and makhane would only be capable of bowing down toward, then he might be capable of fending off 1548, assuming that 1548's origin isn't equally as powerful as him.
Then again, it was mentioned that the gods forgot how fragile the universe was, implying that many near-omnipotent beings have died or been banished at the hands of 1548 due to their arrogance in the power of the universe, so is it even possible for a being that relies solely on the universe's power to resist 1548? This really might be the most powerful SCP, even more powerful than a peak-power Scarlet King.
@williampg gois No, that was some other goddess of flesh. She wanted to turn humanity into beasts incapable of intelligent thought because she was jealous that humanity sided more with mekhane than with her, so Mekhane just fucking turned himself into her prison.
As for why that guy didn't act, he either didn't consider it worth making a move on the fucker or it didn't dare to make a move. Even though this thing rampaged across the solar system, none of the gods were provoked into attacking, meaning the gods either fear 1548, or they're still saving their strength for a last stand against 1548.
One more thing, 2399 is likely in a separate timeline from The Star, The Hateful, possibly an entirely parallel universe even, as it is stated that 2399 traveled relatively recently from the Triangulum Galaxy to our solar system which would have been impossible if The Star, The Hateful was present. Though, I do wonder what the world would look like if one were to take every world-ending scp like 2399, 1548, the dozens of 001s, the world eater, the hanged king, the scarlet king, and so on, and so forth, and threw it all into one timeline. Who would die? Who would survive? Would When Day Breaks + The Star in 1548 merge to become a being so powerful even the gods cannot resist being melted? Would the When Day Breaks version of the sun recognize 179? If When The Star Breaks (combination of When Day breaks + The Star in The Star, The Hateful) were to actually be capable of melting gods, could the supreme combination of every god in existence be able to wipe out The Hateful? Would When The Star Breaks be capable of wiping out The Hateful all on its own?
@@palea1335 I dunno bout that, nothing here has indicated these things are stellar level individually, collectively universe level in destructiveness sure. But nothing multiversal, higher dimensional, let alone outversal. Something that the Scarlet King for all intends and purposes is. Destroying everything in the universe, isn't quite the same as actually killing the universe time/space along with it aswell, changing it's very laws of physics in any irrational way entirely, or create one all together. Something a fair amount of SCP's can and have done with no effort including most that you named there.
This SCP is to me one of the most terrifying tho, because essentially humanity is trapped and isolated within a universe where all life and all but 3 stars are murdered by unknown horrors. It's not the greatest scope, but that's not always neccesary.
@@grizzlymelon8376 the issue is, we don't know how many god-level beings exist in the SCP universe. it makes no sense for there to collectively be somewhere between 4 to 10 such presences just around the Earth, and then none more across the entire universe. Therefore, low-balling, there should be a minimum of hundreds of beings capable of going toe-to-toe with Mekhane and the likes. However, the implication that the entire universe has been destroyed implies that this army is capable of killing, or at the very least, overpowering beings of that level. The Scarlet King, in my opinion, more likely uses his higher-existence power to directly obliterate the laws of the universe, in turn destroying everything else. The Hateful, however, directly ignored that, became a presence spanning tens of BILLIONS of light-years, and didn't simply shatter stars, but ERASED them, judging by how there isn't even the presence of novas and supernovas. They were capable of defying the Laws of Thermodynamics, obliterating matter.
These guys don't have any law the Scarlet King can simply obliterate. If the Scarlet King wants to kill them, he has to accomplish the task of truly creating an attack spanning ten's of billions of light years across, which also has an intensity equal to or above that of which The Star produced, possibly even countless times more powerful for the existences that are larger than stars. An ordinary-strength Scarlet King just doesn't have the means to do that, as far as I'm aware. If he did, he could have long since accomplished his goal of ending all the universes, as no one would be able to resist him, no seal could stop him, no number of sacrifices could prevent his arrival.
In other words, just the implication that 1548 could destroy a universe filled with Gods already puts it above the God-level. We know nothing about 1548 beyond that, including whether it's capable of universal travel. If it is, then it's a threat equal to The Scarlet King. If it's not and this is just a one-off thing, then it's a death sentence to any universe with it, but nothing that can affective the multiverse as a whole.

The probe was traveling in one direction, and sent back images from that one direction of the mostly destroyed universe. There could be more universe left beyond its censor range, and in other directions

Maybe, but there's two problems here:
1: The message that "This is all that remains" woudl seem to imply that the probe had some way of sensing more about the universe, and that it simply detected absolutely no signals from any other place but the two remaining stars, when at least some frequency of radiation would have been picked up from any other stars.
2: Ok, lets assume you're right, and the creatures have just been eating through a portion of the universe, like a funnel, and there's still plenty of space left in all other directions. The implication that they have swalloed up entire galaxies, that such an infinitely large expanse of space has been so thoroughly bleached of everything, still implies that we're screwed no matter what. If the leviathans ate plenty of galaxies before, we're simply too insignificant to hope to be able to stop the swarm. Even if we improved our tech to be able to kill a few of the smaller monsters, the size of consumed space indicates a legion with such numbers as to be practically impossible to fathom, much less defeat, and lets not forget that scp-1548 had to vaporize a planet to bring down one of the smaller creatures. Not only can't we rely on it being able to handle millions of creatures attacking simultaneously, or even some of the more massive creatures, which may simply be too anomalously powerful to be brough down by the sun, but even if 1548 can keep firing and vaporizing creature after creature, we just don't have enough Solar System to survive that kind of collateral damage. Even if we lose a planet every 100 or so creatures dispatched, assuming that's how many need to strike at the same time for scp1548 to miss one and let it make contact with the surface of a world, it means about 600 creatures in, we're done for, since at that point we officially fun out of planets. As a final terrible thought, we can also think about how the STARS are gone, meaning soem of the larger entities are so strong, that they may not be phased by our Sun's defensive measures, because they feed on it.

It's because it is the first part is a pattern screamers saying all is lost but it's overpowered for a moment by the the Second Hytoth church and says long ago when the gods were fragile... and then it goes static as the pattern screamers drowned it out. Oh yeah! I hadn't realized it, but you're right. They both also operate simliarly, in that they're both unimaginable massive forces of incredible destruction, which simply pass over the universe, erradicating all life, and a single spherical being is all that stops them from doing the same to our own civilization. It's pretty creepy to think about, that we can only beg and grovel at the feet of our savior, because the threat from the darkness is so unimaginably powerful, that all we can do is hope our benefactor continues to defend us, since should they fail, guaranteed anhiliation is all that awaits us.
