- Minecraft 1.20 adds a lot of new features. One is a new way that netherite is obtained. It's a lot harder now meaning you must do more to get it

I finally wanted to stop using creative and started my first ever survival world but if I died I wouldn’t use cheats anyways and I didn’t die yet but I got really lucky on my first day getting around 40 diamonds 2 stacks of iron 3 stacks of lapis and 1 stack of gold but then today I got 7 netherite pieces and realized this..
I’m so unlucky
So what I’m saying is long story short only when I decided that I would go on a survival map and get max gear or netherite at least I realize that I’m gonna need to wait like 5 billion more years 😭😭😭😭

When you join a server go try to find diamonds and get 5 diamonds 3 for the pickaxe and 2 for the enchanting table after getting diamonds start making a sheep and a cow farm then go make a 30 level enchanting table and try to get a fortune 3 on Ur pickaxe which you should have 30 level from killing mobs while exploring for diamonds is easy because almost every pickaxe I enchant it always has fortune 3 then go stripmining at -50 after getting diamonds get full armour and enchant them if u want to then use the sheep to make beds and get netherite
Finding a netherite template needs PvP skill but it's easy anyways

Little correction: upgrade templates can be found in any bastion remnant. With a really high chance at that. Bastion treasure rooms just have a 100% chance of 1 spawning. But the chance of it spawning is so high that it's basically guaranteed to get 2-4 per remnant. Those including, stables, housing area, and bridge.
Ps. When searching for templates, make sure you open unopened chests to make sure you have a chance of getting it! It's fine even if it's been loaded before as long as it's never been opened. If you aren't finding any then you're outta luck so you better hope you get a treasure room with a guaranteed template xD
Edit: Looks like the rates have been lowered or something as someone said you only have a 5% chance of finding 1 upgrade template per remnant now.

Nah I can’t get 1 from a bastion but I can get 4 silence trims in one ancient city
I found 4 fortrest 1 bastion and i didn’t find that idk why
I searched three bastions and didn't find one until I went into a treasure room, it's abt an 11.something % chance per chest in bastion to get the template, so if u get even a little unlucky it's totally possible to search multiple bastions with 10+ chests and still not get it

me watching this knowing damn well im only gona use iron armor my entire playthrough.
I got fucking diamond armor then got a map from a villager. Then went to the ocean monument and fucking died drowning. And lost the diamond armor this is a way to break a man's spirit. I now have 7 diamonds left. Fuck exploring in this game I'm good with just fishing for enchantments from now on.

This was a great change, with Netherite being so strong yet accessible pre 1.20, they needed to make thing’s balanced and they delivered

Netherite was already way too hard to get without a gunpowder farm. Requiring a gunpowder farm in Minecraft to get Netherite armor is just dumb. Otherwise you will be mining for hours on end and barely find any ancient debris. Now on top of all of this you have to find multiple bastions. In single player this isn’t horrible but in multiplayer… it’s a completely different story and on most servers it will be impossible for anyone to find a single template due to a select few people grinding and taking them all before anyone else gets a chance. Horrible change overall.

Change harder to dam near impossible. Try finding a template after all of the bastions even remotely near nether spawn have been looted. Horrible change.

@@aditzu1254The person was saying that diamonds already did something for netherite BEFORE 1.20. I'm assuming they're talking about how you need diamond tools, armor, etc. before you can turn it into netherite.
You need to duplicate the templates 2 times so 38 diamonds you go
They have to buff the nethrite too for being that hard to get
Go to chunkbase and enter your seed and check where you can find the closest treasure room and other stuff
The hardest part is probably the template if I find one I will duplicate it and always keep one with me

I haven’t used a single diamond in my world. Diamonds are pretty much useless when you’ve got villagers. 5 or 7, I don’t care, got nothing else to spend diamonds on.
@@whengrapespop5728 You need a full stack of diamonds to make enough netherite upgrades for a full set of tools and armor. For the average player that's a lot.
Or you can revert back to earlier versions and then change to netherite but if you don’t want to do that then this is a great video

I was so confused why you mentioned 31 diamonds until I realized its 24 for the armor and 7 for the template. But don't you need 4 duplicates, so 28 diamonds, to get copies while still having the blueprint? So it would be 52 diamonds total assuming just the armor but still having blueprint leftover?

all 4 bastions have the same chance of generating, also the template can also be in other bastions, but only in the treasure it's 100%

FYI: the smithing template has a 100% chance to spawn in a treasure bastion. however! don’t disregard the other bastion types, each chest in them has about a 10% chance to spawn the template as well!
this makes looting bastions more necessary for me cause tbh i forgot they existed.(also looting one with friends is chaotic but fun af lol)
Its a good balance but they still need to make the end game more challenging and maby even copper armour which maby gives speed this openes minecraft to new stuff

This. Everyone’s like oh it only takes one minute on average to find a piece of ancient debris. But that’s only if you use TNT and have a good afk gunpowder farm for a ton of TNT. Imagine requiring a gunpowder farm to get Netherite… and it might as well be required because if you don’t then it takes a million times longer.

You can actually get smithing templates from all bastions, but they are guaranteed in tresure bastions. So dont go oast all the bastions u see if they arent treasure, since they can have it
I already struggle with just the mining part, but when I found out that this was added, I was really worried that I might not be able to actually upgrade my gear. I was shocked to find out how easy it actually was to get the templates needed! But yeah I still have trouble getting the ancient debris

How to get it : start in 1.19.4 get netherite and then upgrade to 1.20 💀💀💀

Friend and I went on an "Ancient Deborah" excursion, ended up finding 42 of them bed mining, two horrible bastions and I found a treasure bastion when I lost track of him while flying through the Nether lol.
By the end of it I was so on edge I had to go back to the overworld and bonemeal flowers for a bit.
if you get 2 from the nether and dupe one you will get 3 templates , so you need 38 diamonds for 4 templates from 2 and diax set

yes, it makes The Transition from Diamond to Nether be more of a Step in the Gameplay, But Smithing Templates are very, Very Hard to Come Across, It makes it a Problem for Multiplayer Servers, having to find a Unlooted Bastion, and still not being guaranteed a Template after all of that.
Side note: if you are on a server then give up

Well diamonds are so easy to get now it makes finding them more exciting because I could actually use them for something

I remember when netherite gear was crafted using netherite ingots, I feel like that was harder. A chestplate requiring almost as much netherite as a full set of armour and tools does now.

Before in 1.19.2, I was thinking I would never go in the BASTION! In my hardcore world (I still had diamond armor)

you only need to find one template and then duplicate that and make sure to make at least four on top of the one you found (5 total minimum) that way you if you upgrade all of your armor you still have one left to duplicate because if you use the last one it’s gone until you find another treasure bastion which isn’t easy
I am new to minecraft. The first structure I found in the nether last week was a bastion. In there, I found the netherite upgrade and I didn't even realise what it meant until a couple of days ago. I am very close to having all my armor and tools made of netherite. I am a 32 yo man and I am enjoying this game like a kid.
people who don't play the game often see minecraft as a kids game but honestly, it serves all people from a ages and interests, it's really broad and will turn anyone back to a kid
Definitely harder. I died recently to a double creeper explosion and had to remake some of my armor. It scraped off half of my diamonds and I kept getting killed in the piglin bastion just to get the upgrade (I'm not a combat player, I'm more of a builder). It was worth the risk but it took about 5 to 6 hours of gameplay to get back to where I used to be, it only helped that I had previous armor and diamonds from old mining and raiding trips so I didn't have to grind for those.

Actually a treasure bastion is the easiest to find cuz you can find a direction of a spawner with a pie chart and see e counter to check if it is a bastion or a fort
I didn’t know u could duplicate them, I went through like 9 of them
you need at least 21 diamonds as it requires 7 diamonds per piece of armor and 28 diamonds if you want to keep the smithing template at the end and that’s not counting the diamonds for the armor
The hardest part for my current world is just finding a template got every thing else and some.
bruh what did i miss i rember when a smithing table would convert dimond tools and wepons into netherite for one netherite ingot
With me playing only on weekends.. It is gonna be a lot harder even with my villagers trading full diamond armor.

Seems like somebody didn't play industrial craft. Try getting iridium armor when you need like few stacks of iridium shards that spawn in like strongholds end cities in short more endgame chests. And if you find one chest that has like 5 of it or less

You don't NEED a treasure bastion. It just has the highest chance of having the template in the loot table. So check them all. You might get lucky!

This is a good change, since you are pretty much invincible with protection IV netherite armor, makes it more ballanced in my opinion.
I liked the old way ngl, it was way less confusing, but that's just me.
It’s nice tho when you get a smithing template before everyone so you can charge a fee to copy it
My and my friend tired to get it but we found out we needed a template and when we where trying to get one 3 piglin brutes kill us so our hardcore world was over
You only need 1 template. My first bastion I found had one, took me literally 30 extra minutes being in the Nether. Got the template before I even got the blaze rods needed for the portal
My world is now 33 days old in minecraft and i already found 4 bastions and guess what!
I found 3 treasure bastions and found a total of 8 netherite template thing

Those piglin brutes ruined 14 of my hardcore games. Brutal. Be methodical when raiding them treasure rooms. I suggest getting an elytra first so you can fly out when things get hair
I would like this addition way more if diamond wasn't so rare now. They should've added diamond nuggets and the ability to smelt diamond gear
I dont know how good of an idea this is considering that you'd need to dupe just to make crafting somewhat manageable.

I love and hate it at the same time because I have so much rare items so it makes my ender chest stacked with netherite more rare
The fact that I started a new world and got full netherite and silence trim as netherite in. A hour today 😭😭
And for a full set of diamond trimmed netherite armor it’s a total of 16 ancient debris 16 gold and 84 diamonds
This is why in survival I just stay with Enchanted Diamonds Armor
