Started following and learning from Chris, Blair Enns, and David Baker. Charged my first multiple thousand dollar project after reading both Bllair and Davids books, then tens of thousands on the next project, then multiples of tens of thousands on the next...
I never thought I could charge so much, my beliefs in my own value was my limiting factor.

@@roody_io for me it was a mindset shift. Listen to Blair and David, and reading their books essentially helped me make that shift. I'd say that the largest part was my own perception and belief had to change before I could start changing my actions around that

I went up on my price several times because of what I learned from you. Same kind of curiosity , how high can I go. First raises didn’t affect my clients number, showing I wasn’t charging enough. I learned about that time that in my one man crew the worker was getting paid well but the business owner , advertiser, accountant, driver/estimator was getting paid NONE.
I finally got to the point where my customers often tell me that my job bids are higher than others . So now(!) I can proudly tell them back that “I’m worth it”. Not to my surprise people reply “that’s what I heard” to that . And then we make the deal. People wanna be sure before they sign up.. and willing to pay extra for that. That’s how I feel about it now. I used to feel sorry for charging “too much”.

  • @kevji
    @kevji 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

perfectionism is the attachment to an old identity stuck in the belief of "I'm not good-enough."
True creative freedom happens when you shift your operating system perfect ---> a masterpiece and a work in progress.
This way you climb the first and second mountains of 'success' simultaneously.

Chris, thank you for saying that your greatest advantage is living in the United States. No one appreciates the privileges and opportunities of this country like immigrants do. I hope people, especially young people, come to realize how they're being manipulated by all forms of media to think negatively about themselves and the nation. The U.S. is not without faults but among all of the nations of the world, it is unique in its diversity and level of opportunity. Thank you.

Self doubt and fear are the killers of dreams! If you put in the work and are consistently honing skills, then you have every right to raise your prices and go after better and bigger clients/contracts.
    "I must not fear.
    Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

We have closed $50k over 3 deals in the last two months by following the lessons of Chris, Blair, and a few others. We had to believe in our skills and in the value we are able to create for our prospects. A little bit of patience doesn't hurt either. Our niche is making cocktail videos for bars and spirits brands. I know, it's hard to believe there is that much value in that niche but here we are. If we can do it, you can too. Thank you Chris.
Also, can we take a moment to talk about young Chris with the hair?

so positive thank you for this , many of us keep on doing self sabotage and / or keep stuck in a limited mindset. 'just be opened to it' is so positive and lightweight / low pressure. try and see. push forward

Not all of us are here because we haven't started taking the steps...it's good to re-hear, reflect, refocus....a bit like journaling maybe, the chance to reflect and internalize.
Anyway, huge respect and gratitude sir!

Great "talk" as usual! Thank you for sharing the story about your life, your experiences. I've been struggling with burnout, poster syndrome, anxiety, procrastination, you name it! And it's hard to break the chain...this cycle. So good people appeared on my feed and you too..... so it helps me to hear different opinions and personal experiences about these topics. I've already known you for ages and it's nice to see you doing this great and free content.
    Have a great
PS.: What headphone do you use? I started to use glasses the last couple of years and it hurts a lot wearing them while using a headphone.

In the last few weeks I closed 2 deals that total over six figures and a gross profit that you’d deem healthy. The one deal is all strategy. It allowed me to hire world class experts to do most of the heavy lifting for me. The other deal I’ve trained someone up to implement most of it. My role has evolved to being a facilitator. And I don’t really get hired as the “video guy” anymore. While I didn’t jump to $30k an hour yet, I’m still testing where my ceiling is.

I’m actually in the Roofing industry. I started as a Roofing Contractor. Currently I’m an Outside Salesman for roofing products with ABC Supply Co.
I’m really glad you asked. It further supported the fact that your curiosity has lead you into places that, 1.) Wasn’t expected. 2.) That you can find a use case anywhere and lastly That there is profitability in any space if you bend your model / Mindset into it.
      Thanks!
