Those drifter days are past me now....... I got so much more to think about...... At 66 years old, this certainly rings true..... Thanks for the memories Bob.
My dad 89, loved listening to my Bob Seger albums when I went off to college in the 80's. He died in March 2023 and we played Against the Wind at his funeral. He would have approved.
I'm 60 and when I hear this I close my eyes and dream of being with someone that cares about me the way I do them. Haven't felt that way in a while. Maybe I'm to old now to be happy

This song is from my teen years, I loved it then and love it now, in 2024! My husband and I were going together during this time, and we have listened, to Bob Seger our whole lifetime. My kids heard him consistently throughout their lifetime, and they call him The Seg !!! They lifted us for Christmas with tickets to his concert when he played in So. CA in concert here at the Staples auditorium, it was such a beautiful gift, and of course, it was stellar. He sounds as good now as he ever did. His songs are timeless!
Thank you Jason Aldean for introducing Bob Seger to a new younger generation! He is always relevant but some people just have to be introduced. Bob Seger is a dynamo whose songs split right into the heart of every male and female living being . Exposes , describes, comiserates (sic), sympathizes, and expresses their hearts. Plus his onstage performances were superb. There are very few people about which it can be said, but Bob Seger is one: He was a legend in his own time.
I met Bob Segar in a driving class in Naples, Fl back in the early 90's. He was such a kind and couteous gentleman. He even took the time to answer an older lady's question, " What band did you play with?" So sweetly answered her and said," the Silver Bullet Band, ma'am.." he took no credit for who he was, answering in that kind, and gentle voice that I will never forget! Talked with him and got his autograph. Later, he rented a house from my husband's rental company. Always the same and such a legend. Come back one more time, Bob! Gotta see just one more show!
"I remember what she said to me, how she swore it never would end, I remember how she held me oh so tight, wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then" ..... some of the greatest lyrics ever written. So true for so many.
Wow!!! Bob Seger's voice is still so good (even better). Those were the days when music was music and meant something. Nothing artificial just raw talent.
Yes----watching and listening two these excellent musicians singing and strumming this song ---together as one. This, my friends, is GREAT music, and makes everyone feel such a good vibration!! So glad I found this. Thanks to you tube's algorithm for hooking me up!

I've always loved Bob Seger's music.....I think all of us have run Against the Wind at some point in our lives.....it's not until we are older that it truly hits home....Thank you Bob Seger.
BOB SEGER has always been handsome! He looks so very good now that he is older!!❤❤❤❤ I love all of his songs. These songs in the 60's and 70's mean more to me now that I am older!! Thank you Bob Seger
Mr. Segar says that was one of the most difficult lines for him to sing, he just had a hard time trying to figure out the actual meaning of it, double negative and all... I live down the road from his summer home in Northern Michigan. Every once in a while I see him walking his pooch down the road near my home. It's hard for me not to confront him to tell him how much his music means to me. But this is his neighborhood, I give him his space and admire him from afar. Can you imagine having a music god as a neighbor?
It must be amazing for Jason Aldean to play with Bob Seger, who I'm guessing is one of his heroes. You can see the tears in his eyes, he knows Bob will be a legend forever.
I saw Bob a couple of years ago in Grand Rapids Michigan. He was incredible. He still has the same voice as he had in the 70’s. He was my first concert at the Jackson County Fair. ❤❤❤❤💕💕💕♥️♥️♥️

Never heard his name or saw him until this year and WOW, what great tunes and awesome writing! I think Jason Aldean was even starstruck while strumming w him. Seger, a very cool, yet hot forever sexy man!!! A great talent!!!
Thank you, Mindy! Your comment made me smile from ear to ear. It's fans like you who make all the hard work worth it. I'm honored to have your support and encouragement.
Still one of the greatest songs of all time. A great duet! Two lines from this song I always used at work. "Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then", "Deadlines and commitments, what to leave in, what to leave out", Pretty much covered every sitation! LOL. Always a big Bob Seger fan. Great stuff. What I love about this is Jason Aldean respected the song and didn't put his own spin on it.
I found Bob Seger in 1974 when he started the Silver Bullet Band. At the time, I was 10 years old and listening to AM radio. I heard Turn the Page and graduated to FM, which was the beginning of my love of Rock and Roll. Over the years, I enjoyed harder and harder Rock and Roll, but here I am 60 years old and I still love Bob Seger.
I WAS AGAINST THE WIND IN 1980,AND THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG BRING ME HOPE AND CONFORT, ONE OF MY FAVORITES SONG OF ALL TIMES,THANK YOU BOB SEGER YOU ARE UNFORGETABLE.

I keep coming back to this song again and again. I can't help tears welling up in my eyes. Jason while paying his due respect to Seger, holds his ground beautifully. This is what songs are all about ❤❤❤❤❤
My first rock concert, 75. Bob opened for KISS in Johnson City, Tennessee. The same tour that made Silverbullet Live Album. Saw him again in 76. Right down front both times! One of my top 5 favs!
I wish I had got to see Bob Seger I did get to see Aerosmith at Johnson City freedom Hall in the mid eighties it was awesome I may have been younger when Bob Seger did his concert at Johnson City because I was just sixteen when I saw Aerosmith
Truly understand the performers that are said to be poets and that say 'I'm not sure I know what poetry is .' This, ladies and gentlemen is art. Feel that we all know and appreciate it when it emerges. Such artists are so pleasurable to absorb and enjoy. Thank you.
What I love about this live performance is that Bob Seger is so into it. He is doing the same wide thumping strumming guitar strums that he did when he was performing onstage at the height of his career. And vocally expressing an understanding of the lyrics as if he had written them....which of course he did! What a career he made. Wildly successful in recorded songs, even more so in live performances, how many other composers and performers had an iconic advertisement centered on them... "Like a Rock". The man is definitely centered in America's heartland. And we need more like him today.
Bob seger is a legend, the baddest man out of Detroit. A Rock and roll Hall of famer, and one of the greatest singer songwriters of all times no doubt about it.
I'm a musician because my Mom worked at Capitol Records in Toronto and she'd bring home albums such as these in the early 80s ..didnt know how much of an impact that would have on me .... Rip Mom ...
Maybe some of his fans do not know, but I'm sure Jason knows EXACTLY who he is with up there. His parents are probably besides themselves with excitement.
been through a lot the last few years, pretty much crushed, burned, and left to die. I heard this song today, or it popped into my head, and it brought tears to my eyes. I still have a long way to go. these lyrics here "and, I remember what she said to me, how she swore that it never would end, I remember how she held me -- ahh so tight, I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then" no one writes stuff like that anymore. ----> "I wish I didnt know now what I didnt know then" damn
A master class in tapping into the psyche of a generation. Mostly male, mostly white, mostly middle class, but 100% American. We were raised to believe anything was possible. Our hearts learned ,soon enough, that life is not 'fair', but , looking back, it is magnificent. Thank you Bob Seger.
No one, and I mean no one, should try to sing the melody of this song with Bob Seger. Just wait for the chorus, do the harmony softly, and go home. Bob owns the sound.
I am amazed at how much Bob Seger still sounds the same as he did in the 80's. I always enjoyed this song. I sure am glad I found it this morning as I start another work week. I love you Jenny, Bennett, Taylor and Spencer.
I’m here at 4:30 AM because I always, well, “almost” always, have a song playing in my head. This morning, it was this one. At 60, my appreciation for this band has grown even greater.
Jason Aldean should be beyond humbled to sit beside this legend, and be allowed to share in his mastery. Alden is successful but i am sure he knows this is a masterclass for him . Bob is a national treasure.
❤❤❤ OH WOW! BOB SEGER A GREAT MUSICIAN FROM MY ERA! YOU SOUND AS GOOD AND WONDERFUL AS YOU WERE BACK THEN THIS SONG WAS POPULAR! I'LL NEVER FORGET IT! BP❤
I. Am a pure country girl, I love my country music. But now Bob Seger is a whole different scenari. Love Bob Seger. I can set and listen to him saying, All Day long and NEVER get Tired of him. And then you put Jason aldean in there and that just Kix it off even better. I love these guys.
Bob Seger is one of the great Rock & Roll poets. "Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends." Genius
Ohhh yesss Man !!
"Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then". You said it--genius.
Searching for shelter again and again... Dog tired boss, I'm just going to rest a spell behind this tree. 1956 to 2023 and still moving...

"I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." What an amazing play of words. Genius.
Right on. Bob Seger had a gift of a turn of phrase that eluded many famous writers.
Words to live by... maybe the greatest line ever! Bob wanted it off the record and Frey and Henley convinced him to keep it
That’s my favorite part too
One of my hardest thoughts and memories.
'What to leave out.... What to leave in'.
You kidding me, Bob Seger is a Fricken legend.
Wrong
Total legend ...
I'm 60 and when I hear this I close my eyes and dream of being with someone that cares about me the way I do them. Haven't felt that way in a while. Maybe I'm to old now to be happy

What an honor for Jason to perform with such a legend! Awesome
I hope that wasn't wasted on Jason. He's a lucky man to be performing with Bob!
I’m sure he was humbled and honored to sing a great song with a living legend
I prefer my Bob Seeger pure, but Jason done real good. Real good. You could tell Bob was very happy playing and singing with Jason.
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
Absolutely agree! My emotions went wild tonight watching this video! Watching it with tears streaming down my face, and can’t explain why!
Yes, from Norway

The best live version of an epic song by Seger. Period.

Thanks Rhonda for the wonderful comment and for supporting and showing me love to my carrier, most especially being a lovely fan ❤️😘
No one, and I mean no one, should try to sing the melody of this song with Bob Seger. Just wait for the chorus, do the harmony softly, and go home. Bob owns the sound.
One voice is great. One is not......and it's not hard to tell.
Bob Seger is such an amazing artist...Love his voice. And a dual with Jason Aldean. What else could you ask for? Thank you for such an iconic song.
Wow...Bob Seger sounds great.....great to see him still at it
I am amazed at how much Bob Seger still sounds the same as he did in the 80's. I always enjoyed this song. I sure am glad I found it this morning as I start another work week. I love you Jenny, Bennett, Taylor and Spencer.
Brings me to tears every time. Love this.
Sometimes it does..,this is our lives......try to enjoy in remembrance......,a better time......

Love my Bob. Always will....yes indeed.
I’m here at 4:30 AM because I always, well, “almost” always, have a song playing in my head. This morning, it was this one. At 60, my appreciation for this band has grown even greater.
you can tell jason is just so humbled to be on the stage with seger. honestly beautiful man.
Jason Aldean should be beyond humbled to sit beside this legend, and be allowed to share in his mastery. Alden is successful but i am sure he knows this is a masterclass for him . Bob is a national treasure.
One of the greatest legends. Never get tired of hearing his songs.
I’m 29 but my grandfather played this song so many times for me. I cry when I hear it because it’s beautiful
❤❤❤ OH WOW! BOB SEGER A GREAT MUSICIAN FROM MY ERA! YOU SOUND AS GOOD AND WONDERFUL AS YOU WERE BACK THEN THIS SONG WAS POPULAR!
I'LL NEVER FORGET IT! BP❤
I usually don’t like it when established legends are joined with another performer at a live gig; but this is an exception. Brilliant!! 👏👏👏👏
that country twang gives the song something extra
Bellissimo duetto! Adoro Bob... 😊🤗😍😘🎶🎸🎸🎶💘❤️💋💯💋💯💯💯💯🌅
Jason & Bob Sound Wonderful Together ..! " Way To Go, 🎉 Guys .😊
Jason is a punk living off of Bob's fame.
Bob Seger is one of my favorite singers. Love ❤ all his songs.
Me too!
Hope you're having a wonderful week ahead 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Hello how are you doing hope everything is going well with you and your family?
Might be one of the greatest songs ever written. As a 40 year old, I hear this song and it takes me back to 18 in an instant. Damn, how time flies.
I.
Am a pure country girl, I love my country music. But now Bob Seger is a whole different scenari. Love Bob Seger. I can set and listen to him saying, All Day long and NEVER get Tired of him. And then you put Jason aldean in there and that just Kix it off even better. I love these guys.
