My cheep as landlord put these on our building and I’m pissed. The locks that used to be on the door were automatically locked and u never had to do anything, now we gotta make sure the lock is latched in a 8 unit apt complex.
there is a setting standard in almost all electronic deadbolts including the cheaper defiant models (also installed on all 50 units in my building) called "Auto Relock" where you program the lock in the same way you set the user code, to tell it how many seconds after you have opened the deadbolt that it automatically relocks or relatches itself. Its very usefull for not having to turn back around to turn the latch when you get home or have to lock the door with the key from the outside when you leave, just turn open, walk in or out your door, let the door close and the lock 5, 10 20...however many seconds you tell it to, will lock itself.
Man. Need help with this. It's been 2 weeks now.....installed lock. Looking to reset code. Hold button in, press #, doesn't let me put in 2,0, #. Just automatically lock
Hey buddy I set my code and for some reason, I have to punch a code to Lock the door and open it only swipe a finger and is a look I do not know should be all the way around
Wait why is there a diamond like code before punching in your actual code? Is that something you setup or do I have use two different codes to unlock my door?
@@trevorthomas1030 yeah, if you touch the same 4 spots on the pad overtime you may leave marks. So they have you put in a random code to start each time.
@ToolboxTipz , Is the random code always the same or is it different? Also why wouldn't I just look at buying a different more higher end touch pad. After all I'm trying to unlock my door as fast as possible and that extra code is just gonna piss me off.
I have my code set, but for some reason once I shut my door and I’m standing on the outside I can’t get the screen to turn on. It will only then lock. I have to put the key in and unlock it and then open the door and then the screen will light up so it’s not really giving me an option to utilize the code to unlock it while the door is completely shut. Only when is open
Thank you for taking the time to show step by step the video .
You’re welcome! Glad it could help

For deleting code instructions say. Put in your 4 digit master code,#,30# than enter the unwanted code
Unfortunately you didn't show how to program it. That's the only reason I watched this video.
@@mgconty1283 if you start at 8:14 I show you how to program a new code

Take a look over your manual, it may tell you how to shut that function down. I only need to touch my pad to lock it.

@@trevorthomas1030 that diamond code will change every time. It’s a safety feature to make you touch multiple parts of the pad.
@ToolboxTipz , You mean like so no one can guess my code or?

Trying to set my code but its not working

It's not adding either
Mine doesn't have the button
You may have a different model, review your manual. You may have a different process

@ you may have a pinched wire or something. I’d take the back off and double check everything
