Grandma's have trouble with pooping and peeing themselves because they all carried and pushed out a bunch of babies and their pelvic floor is completely destroyed. Either that, or dementia. They def don't just decide to casually crap themselves!!!!

This year is my holiday horror story. It's 4 days before Christmas and we have nothing. It's the first time I've not been able to pull off a miracle for my kiddo. She's 7 and nonverbal. Christmas is her favorite day. I'm literally unable to explain.
One of my grandmas would get on her hands and knees to pick up literal crumbs off the floor if we weren’t paying enough attention to her lol also for some reason I died of laughter at ‘WTF GRANDMA go get in the bathtub”

Great podcast episode. One year my mom decided to do all the Christmas shopping on Christmas eve and dragged me along with her. I had a panic attack and had to sit outside the mall in the snow to calm my breathing down and try not to pass out. When we got home she had me wrap all of the presents including the presents she got for me. It wasn't the worst Christmas but it's something that I will remember always and remind her on occasion.

@@billieeilish4735 yeah it was pretty awful but it is in the past. It happened when I was a freshman in high school. I've learned that I have a fear of crowds I'm not sure if it was from that experience alone or along with my experience at conventions. I do my best now to avoid crowds and places that are crowded during certain times of the year like grocery stores around the holidays. It still isn't the worst Christmas I've had. And my mom has tried to make up for it over the years.
Empathize with the person who lost their leg. Being a Blind screen reader user I have family and friends that have that same mentality with myself and my mom who is the same as me.

I've never been forgotten on Christmas, but my whole family forgot my 17th birthday. My mom told me in the morning we were going to my cousins birthday party, why in the world would we be going out to dinner that night (what we had planned to do for my birthday), so I went thinking they would all say happy birthday/maybe have a surprise party for me... Nope they had completely forgot me and told me I didn't need a birthday anymore when I had to tell them it was my birthday!
I loveeeee this podcast. Love the unfiltered side of Rachel! She does say fuck like every other word which is more than my ears were prepared for haha but it’s unfiltered so… not complaining! So fun! Em is great too!!

Yes when I was 10 my mom told me and she said it’s looked liked someone ran over my puppy in front of me for days and she has never told my little brother he’s fake and just lets him believe if he wants. And I remember the feelings I had when she told me, now I’m will never tell my kids he’s real but will give them the option to believe if they want!
Fast forward to present day where Rachel has worms in a tree now 12:37 😂

So last year happened to be my baby brother's first Christmas. He was only 4 months old, but I was 14 at the time. I went to a friend's Christmas party. There were 7 other people there, so altogether there were 8. The next day, my friend's mom said that my friend got covid. I, along with 2 other friends tested positive the day before Christmas. I was so mad that out of 8 people, I was one of the 4 to get sick. I cried on my bed because I knew that I had to miss my baby brother's first Christmas. I knew that he wouldn't remember, but I would. I stayed home, and on Christmas morning my parents, grandparents, and aunt's family were all opening presents while I sat on the stairs, in a mask, opening my presents alone. The little bit of extra pain was that my almost 2-year-old cousin (now almost 3) didn't understand why he could show me his presents. By far my worst Christmas.

my absolute worst christmas was a few years ago, my whole family was getting ready for a huge christmas party and my mom called me so i got up to go to her stubbed my toe and broke it like the toe was sideways and i wore heels that night like a dummy

26:31 my brother in law is exactly like this. He puts his mom above everyone. We live 5 hours away from my sister and brother in law and whenever we go up to visit them he insists on inviting his mother to join in with our activities. He is such a mama’s boy. It drives my mom and I crazy. I made a mistake at their house one time and my brother in law got so mad that the first thing he did was called his mom to complain about it. I was balling because of the severity of my mistake, and all he gave a crap about was telling his mom.

I've lived in Michigan my whole life and last year we didn't have snow on Christmas and it was awful. A non-White Christmas just seems so lackluster. And I hate snow 🤣 I just need it Christmas Day, that's it
I have to agree, as someone who has autism you will see almost no reaction from me when I recieve a gift unless I know what it is and when it is supposed to arrive. It's not that I don't like it it's legit because physically there isn't anything I can do! I so agree and wish the stigma around not crying if you got a gift means you dislike it would go away >w< (I am also someone who reacts big when it's something I have been REALLY wanting)
I’m kinda the opposite. I am always performing so Christmas feels very natural for me. Like the mask is easier on Christmas for some reason. It’s like my Olympics

Never had a Christmas horror story. I did spent Christmas alone in another country alone. I was an au pair, and this was 2020. The family I worked for left to visit the grandparents. My ex worked that day for an extra 100 Euros. All I got was a note from the family saying they left. If I plan to go somewhere. Please remember to turn on the alarm. I was alone in an empty house. Felt sad the whole day. My ex told me there was no reason to be sad. In 2021 I was back in my own country. Happy to see my family again. Well we all got covid. Had to spend the day in our rooms.

I know you guys didn't ask for this, but I have to comment. My grandma died on Sunday, but we used to live with her when I was younger (til 7). My mom and grandma used to jiggle bells, and (with things that made this noise (don't remember the name) on the floor (for reindeers hoves) and we'd think Santa's here💕💔💕 my sister "SHAWNNA wake up it's Santa" grandma is and was amazing 😍

We have inch worms and silk worms that fall from the trees like that in the summer, we live in the St Louis area but when I lived in KS it was never an issue

I was also the youngest of 4 with the oldest being 11 years older than me but no matter how much I was told Santa was real I never believed it. Saying this I was also a very mean kid so, many times I would lock my older brother (2 years older) in the bathroom and tell him Santa wasn't real and then sit there and watch him hysterically crying and laugh at him

Man, I worked at a Cracker Barrel for five years, and the amount of shit there was ALL over the bathrooms CONSTANTLY was disturbing. At LEAST once a week there would be shitty underwear clogging a toilet because they tried to flush it. Shitty diapers in the tampon trashcans. Shitty diapers just left on the sink. And shit ALL OVER the floors and walls starting from the entrance to the bathroom to the toilets. It was a nightmare. People just have no courtesy. And people are too embarrassed to ask for help. I swear, if I was shitting myself in public the FIRST thing I would do would be to ask for help. I'm not trying to be covered in my own shit like that.

I totally understand the dramatic grandma thing! Minus the actual medical condition, just dramatic.
Ngl, the lack of awareness and the lack of empathy y'all showed with respect to the elderly in some of these stories was kind of shocking. Aging can be a very challenging experience for many people, as their minds and their bodies start to deteriorate and stop working properly. When bathroom accidents happen, it can be very humiliating and stressful for the person it happens to, as well as heartbreaking for the loved ones that are witnessing their elderly relatives lose control of their bodily functions. Many an adult child has to clean up after their elderly parent and/or change their parent's diaper. It is not pleasant for anyone involved but it is a part of life.These people don't want, or choose, to make messes...it is beyond their control. It is one of the harsh realities of aging.
One time for my ex's birthday we decided to go to Jamaica , it was his first time. His mother then booked the same dates to be there but "it was okay" because she was staying at a different resort 😳🙄. Big red flag.
My grandma died a week ago, 2 weeks before Christmas. So, my Christmas actually does suck this year.
