    Keep up the excellent work Rip. My chest pain went away one week into Plant based. Weight is melting off (10 kg the first 7 weeks). Combined this with Joe Hippensteel´s Ultimate Human Performance stretching and boy have my life changed. Been plant based for 70 days now. Blood pressure 116/78 today. Rest pulse under 50 without being in super shape @ 62. Gonna get my Colesterol numbers this week. Change the world, one person at a time ! Thank you!

    What a terrific interview. And how interesting (and also alarming) that vegan junk food and the faux vegan substitute products are even worse for us than eating animals. WFPBNO for the win!

    • @hannahrl
      @hannahrl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have this feeling that the comparison is actually between a junk food diet that's vegan-friendly - but that is, mainly comprising refined flours, sugars, high salt and oils, and an omnivorous diet with a decent amount of whole plant foods. I suspect that comparing a junk food omnivorous diet to a junk vegan diet would show different results - but this was my giant science question when he said this! I am now determined to look up the study!

    I can listen to Dr. Williams all day. He's so articulate, wise and kind. And funny too. I just love him. Aside form his personality, he has such a handle on the importance of lifestyle but doesn't dismiss medical intervention, when necessary. I wish he was my doctor, but next best thing: my doc is in conversation with him. That alone raises my respect for her.

    Dr. Williams is a national treasure! I wish every elected official in the country listened to his insights into health and health policy! He is spot on that better health policies will really strengthen our nation and our individuals and families! Thank you Dr. Williams for sharing your transformative knowledge! My question to Rip would be why did you decide to use the expression, "dirt poor?" To me, that is kind of an impolite expression to use when speaking with a person who may have grown up in an environment that was economically disadvantaged. Do you agree you could have been perhaps a little more empathetic? Maybe it's me, but it just rings through as a harsh expression.

    As crazy as it sounds, many of the people who are against big agriculture are actually pushing for us to eat bugs. Now that's ridiculous. I would have to guess they have cholesterol. I think some of the people in positions of power who are recognizing the good work y'all are doing, have nefarious motives. Either way, keep up the good work.

    I have a response to Rip’s question to Dr. Williams as to how could cardiologists not have read the data and research in this day and age..I was once told by a doctor that she could read all the research available but she could not put that into practice because that’s not what she was taught. This led me to believe that she had superiors within the healthcare system she was employed by that restricted her from practicing good, sound medical practices based on her own research without being faced with repercussions and/or sanctions. FYI I am in Peoria, Illinois and this came from a doctor from one of the largest medical groups in the state.

    Listened to this again. Great great great
    Story. In my 60 started showing high cholesterol, bp and glucose. Went to a health fare and heard dr present data how a healthy wfpbd works better than meds. Started down the wfpbd path w great success and started seeing the very same dr. But all he wanted to do was push pills, didnt have time to talk about diet and life style. That's when I concluded Am medicine was all about money and pills not health.

    Just curious but why would nature evolve us to have taste buds that aren't really attracted to greens like kale? Would seem that sweet, ripe fruit is what really makes our taste buds sing. Hmmm.

    Why won't your cardiologist educate you. Why did I have to come find you to save my life? I'm 12 days in, no meat. Second stent. Coronary and vascular disease. I'm so upset. He could have told me.

    • @Chill_Jill

      Your Cardiologist has Mortgage(s) for house(s)/vacation home(s), car(s) notes, tuition(s) to Ivy League schools for their children, vacation trips abroad, recreational vehicles, maintaining an upper-income lifestyle for himself, his wife and their family, etc.
      If he/she tells you how to take back your health, then who's going to pay for all of the above???
