- The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book Of Carol Season 2 Episode 1 "La Gentillesse Des Etrangers" Review. In this video I will be reviewing, reacting and breaking down episode 1 of TWD Daryl Dixon season 2 and giving my overall thoughts on what went well and worked in this episode and what did not work so well and was bad in this episode.
In this episode Daryl questions if he should go home or not while in America Carol is on a one women mission to find out what happened to Daryl and save him at all costs. However this mission to save Daryl might not be entirely selfless as she is hunted by the death of her daughter Sophia!

Solid start to this season
Crazy how we’re at least 10+ years into the apocalypse and apparently Daryl still has to teach a grown teenager how to kill walkers. Wtf have they been doing for the last 10 years before Daryl popped up? That pilot guy is way too gullible to have survived for this long. Since when do you randomly invite strangers to sleep in your house then leave her alone in your house by herself while your thousands of feet in the air? The episode was good but there was too many incompetent shit that they wanted me to ignore. 5.5/10.
In fairness, Laurent was raised by nuns who sheltered him. So far the only 12 year old (or younger) that was a capable walker fighter is Judith
@@lastrrr4134 I may stand corrected on the Laurent thing even though it’s kinda far fetched that they lasted this long while following their religion that abhors violence. Even Father Gabriel had to break bad eventually. But I’ll accept that reasoning I’ll give them that.
@@HenzoW-cf3mh I think we can agree that they have been too protective of Laurent. At the abbey I would have had everyone take archery lessons - which would also help them hunting wild game

I largely agree with your assessment
- the gates not having manual locks (as a back up) was a huge flaw
- for Carol’s flashback vision of Sophia provided a parallel to Ash losing his son. Carol is likely to intermittently continue to grieve over her many losses
- Genet’s escape - I was okay with her disappearance, but Daryl made no effort to look for her
I think they should of maybe started the Sophia flashbacks after carol finds out about Ash’s son. So her lying about Sophia brings up her grief again.

the bombs shouldn't of went off either because the pins were still in and the thing about the man calling them walkers is simply because Daryl was there for months
I did not notice the pins in the bombs so Madam Genet is even more magic then I thought.
But even if they have heard it from Daryl I still don’t think are not going to use it. They are 13 years in the apocalypse it’s weird to think they did 13 years calling them bitters for example and meet Daryl for some weeks or something hear him say Walker and then adopt the term.
@@HoboDucks its also logical for them to come up with the same name on their own anyway because that is what most of them do, they walk so they are walkers, on a side note have you heard the new name for the variant experiments they are called ampers
I guess you are right it could be that. As it has happened with terms like Bitters being used by more than one group.
I did see they are called Ampers now and I think it is a cool name. Super walkers and Hybrids were always just fan names at the end of the day. It’s like how runners are technically called Cohorts.
