    I really like that this isn't soaked in reverb and post production. It's nice to hear the natural decay of our instrument!

    • @saadjamil9123
      @saadjamil9123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +60

      It definitely has a good amount of post production. But it's done very tastefully and is transparent - as it should be in such works.

    • @saadjamil9123
      @saadjamil9123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      @Anthony Lopez Sorry, I assumed it meant audio post production since it spoke of terms like "reverb" and "natural decay". I simply meant to clarify that this recording definitely went through the regular steps of micing properly, eqing, compression, etc etc that comes with any decent audio production.

    • @saadjamil9123
      @saadjamil9123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +52

      @Anthony Lopez Well, since the engineers for this recording were savvy enough to do a three mic setup with one condenser mic and two mics for an additional xy mic setup I'd say that it's quite easy to assume that incredibly basic things like eqing definitely did happen. Not sure why it's seen as a mar against the artist. A recording engineer not bothering to eq properly is akin to a musician not bothering to properly tune their instrument. It's an incredibly basic skill to have since without it you would have a lot of issues in the recording. The aim of any audio production is to allow the listener to get the best listening experience and judging by how great this recording is, I'd say that they succeeded.

    • @loiseaunoir1021
      @loiseaunoir1021 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don't think there's a lot of eq and if there is any compression at all, it must be very small. What we hear comes mostly from the center mic.

    1. Great setting - the glassware just sparkles.
    2. She really hangs herself out on a limb with this stuff...and lives to tell about it. One false move...and bam! - the whole piece is ruined. One just can't afford to mess this up in the slightest. She's got guts. Even given her incredible talent, this piece still takes a good amount of a steely constitution.
    3. Don't burn your guitar and give up - be inspired by things like this. Be the best _you_ can be. Just practice - there's no excuse for failing to do that. If you do, I guarantee you - you'll discover you're better than you think you are.

    Fantastic arrangement and performance. Sounds great on the guitar. The room was pretty cool too. Very nice location for Debussy.

      @@jackdolphy8965 Chill. Certain cultures say "girl" as a term of endearment, and it isn't meant as a literal category.

      @@jackdolphy8965 You clearly have a beautiful me too moment. Feels good?. As the second comment mentions, it is an expression of how captivating Debussy's piece of music is performed. I am filled with admiration for Roxanne's enormous talent and sat with tears in my eyes when I wrote the comment. Dear friend, being offended on behalf of others is a big mistake and you can easily make mistakes of the meaning. Happy New Year to you and to all music lovers in the world.

    Debussy is my favorite, not many guitarist play his music well, you are one of the few that do! Larendo A. is the first guitarist I heard play his music, your playing has moved me just like mr Almada’s did, thank you for the beautiful music.
