    Looking for answers about lure color. I love to fish with mirrolures. They are my confidence baits. I fish in stained water. Wondering if anyone has used a black mirrodine to catch fish? I’ve heard dark baits work for stained water but haven’t seen anybody use the black mirrodine.

    Hey CA can you get the poppa mullet in the Cajun chew color? This would be a killer night time snook lure.

    Hey, CA in the early spring aren’t most bait fish on the smaller size? That’s when I throw the 17 late in the season as the bait seems to grow and get larger I go with the 27 am I doing things right or should I change things up.

    Thanks for the tip. Definitely the next lure I'm buying on my next trip to SPFO. Any recommendations on which color to use when fishing off the beaches here in pinellas county? Primarily fishing early mornings.

    I noticed that the 27 likes to come up to the top a lot even when you're reeling it in super slow sort of kind of like a topwater hybrid

    Hey CA, quick question... what the max size floro/mono leader would you recommend for the 27mr. Thanks!

    • @compt296
      @compt296 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Julian Lupo I know you asked CA specifically, however I do like to chime in in this, as a personal preference I use 15ln flouro, and mainly because I never use a mainline larger than 10lb spiderwire invisabraid. The 15lb test tippet is ideal for not making too big of a double-uni knot so it can easily pass through your guides without hangups. Very important for bait casters!

    • @flatsclasscharters
      @flatsclasscharters 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Julian Lupo you can go heavy 40# plus but typically I use 20lb to 30lb

    • @julianlupo2745
      @julianlupo2745 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aviation Angler Guy thank you for your reply as well! I usually use 15-25lb floro for 17mr. I was seeing what i could get away with without ruining the action of the bait for the 27. I agree with your comment.

      Julian Lupo it’s just how I learned brother, I keep all my tackle very light compared to most, I personally feel that it allows me to feel every little tick on my setup. This goes for my rods as well, short butt rods with medium light power with extra fast action for the “POP” of your lure either plug or soft plastic

      I am not Capt CA and would never try to act like I know as much as he does. But I do fish a lot but in NC and my favorite color is Electric Chicken. I use a lot of colors but that color is hard to beat day in and day out.

    I’m so surprised that amount of people who prefer the 17, when it comes to trout fishing especially during winter months, I feel that a larger bait is key to success, paired with a slow retrieve. Fish don’t want to expel the lethargic energy that they do have on an appetizer, when they can have the whole cake and eat it too! 🤷🏻‍♂️💪🏻

      Beg to differ,in over forty years of chasing specks ,have found them to be the most color and baitsize aware of fish that we pursue.
