I really enjoyed this video. And I appreciate your authenticity in demonstrating exactly what you’re saying; that good gear lasts. But an abundance of it isn’t necessary to enjoy being in nature. (ie. the absence of a spoon did not deter your enjoyment of the meal.)
I go out some days and set camp make some lunch chill out and don’t stay the night all the time but I like to practice with my gear and see how long it takes me to get everything set up and broke down and try and find faster easier way of set up… Practice, practice, practice And I find that to be good for my mental health. Enjoy your book and the peace and quiet Jake 👍🏻
I appreciate the video. The simplicity and relaxing tone of a camp in the woods is what we all strive for,and this video is exactly that. I am curious about the SAK slip. I currently carry a Victorinox Hiker with a ESEE rat match attached to the splot ring, but the pocket slip looks extremely convenient.
I really enjoyed the video. Nice to see a simple set up like that. I’m probably about to go on a road ruck for a mile or two with my kids. I look forward to seeing you again brother.
This was a great video. Brace yourself, I've got some questions... What poncho, what inflatable sleeping pad, and what leather tool pouch are you using? How do you like them? Do you not use/prefer a camp pillow? If you do like one, is there any brand or model in particular you can recommend? How does the Victorinox you're carrying, in your opinion, stack up against something like their Farmer X Alox? How does it fare against something like their Rangergrip 78/79? Also, thank you for showing proper firesteel usage and not shotgunning your ferrorod, scraping it forty-three times like you've got tourettes and no idea how to prepare tinder. I would love to see more content like this. You could churn these out, back to back, and I'll watch them all, start to finish. Thanks for bringing us along.
Are you that guy who cannot decipher what he’s using based on visual evidence? Oh let me guess your Brand new and have never seen a video of this type… ok I got it…. This is probably the best video he’s ever made, because he’s not whining about everyone’s opinion on what he carries… or justifying his actions based on what someone else says about his channel…..
Fantastic vid, I really appreciate you keeping it simple. The 5’c work, they will get you by. I have a similar simple 5’c keep and I get out there every chance I get. I love it, the peace and the spending time alone with HIM and allowing HIM to speak. Your Swiss knife pouch me likes, I hope you left link to some options for that. I appreciate ya for what you bring to the table. God Bless You. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I do enjoy your videos... Your skills are tight it shows that not everything has to be must the expensive. As a heavy guy myself what's your tips on hydration and pacing your self, I do a 4 miles hike up hill in my area during the weekend each day. I'm training my body to endure the weight of my backpack and the heat of the day. So far, I'm good with extra weight. I don't rush myself to my destination my goal is to reach my goal and back.
I enjoy your videos. Was wanted to do this with a fishing trip combined this weekend. But the weather isn't looking good for it. I'm off until Tuesday evening, so hoping maybe Monday
@@natashaball316 I do not, I found over time that I didn’t like the center zip very much. HPG makes the most comfortable packs I’ve ever used, but I just don’t enjoy the layout of most of their packs.
Sony ZV-E10 with a Sigma lens. As far as the canteen goes, as long as I hav a metal cup I don’t need a metal canteen. I can boil water using either the Grayl cup or the surplus cup
I love minimalist kits! Nice 90% ASMR and 10% talk.

I looked at your vid a second time and I missed the part where you put steak in ground in cased I rained.
Simple but smart. 🤯🤯🤯
Just enjoy your woods time. Goes to show you don't have to be long winded to make a video. Have great day sir

Made by Yellow Birch Outfitters, they’re no longer in business. Thanks for watching!

Great video, enjoyed watching it a lot! thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely gorgeous episode man, this looks and feels amazing!
I appreciate the feedback!
Nice. Simple. Easy to remember ! I like it.
Glad you like it!
Love the silent camping video. The short and sweet commentary at the end was good too. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awsome jake enough to be happy and that's all you need to overnight or couple nights even ...
Good stuff.
Nice and simple set-up. Excellent video. Oh!!! Nice copper cuff your wearing 😉
Nice ! You need a KaBar Spork !
I gotta get out to the farm and see what I'm gonna do with it. Had 2 big trees up root right beside the fire pit. Camp might be moved.
This was great. Great tempo thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!

Another great one Jake. Enjoy.
I like this set up and just the peacefulness.. great work!
Looks like a great time 👍👍😁
The backup alarm at 7 minutes and 8 minutes did it for me.... then the dogs barking....
Can’t control a dog barking hundreds of meters away… If you’re complaining about that then you need to get a life…
Good job. I like the way you keep it simple.
Sensational brother, congratulations! Like, commented and subscribed.
man, leaving the spoon - I thought this looked like a light load out but damn, thats super ultra light.
@@davef5916 Man no kidding, leaving the spoon behind made a world of difference😂😂
Now that’s a cool video!👍

Great video live in Wooster Ohio. I enjoy the tent camps video s😊
Good stuff Jake
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another great video!
Nice outing…with all the deadfall in the area did you really need to cut down a living tree for four tent pegs??? Have fun stay safe.
Great video buddy
Thanks for the visit
Great video
Sleeping pad, what brand? TIA
Great video thanks

Quick chopsticks Jeje.. Great vid Bro
Great looking pack bro.

I love this video format, do you still use your HPG Tara Pack too?
@@natashaball316 I do not, I found over time that I didn’t like the center zip very much. HPG makes the most comfortable packs I’ve ever used, but I just don’t enjoy the layout of most of their packs.
@@buckeyebushcraft I see, I do agree that the straps are very comfortable! Have you looked at The HPG Umlindi pack?
That thumbnail game thoooo...! Awesome video brother.
Appreciate it!
Beautifully filmed! Which camera did you use?
Also-- what is your thinking on not using a SS canteen?
Sony ZV-E10 with a Sigma lens. As far as the canteen goes, as long as I hav a metal cup I don’t need a metal canteen. I can boil water using either the Grayl cup or the surplus cup
Can anybody tell me what sleep pad that is? It's so small
Looks like a great pack. Brand? Great video!
it says it all over it, its a kifaru
Where in the "Eastern Woodlands" do you hail from?
Bucshcraft channel and couldn’t make a quick spoon to eat with?
No need to waste time making one when I can just eat it out of the package….
Very boring I can't even watch the whole video
Agreed, no explosions, no gratuitous nudity, it's like the guy doesn't know anything.
Cool. I don’t really dgaf what you think.
