We've got more public hardwood bottoms in AR than most people think. It's not easy hunting and not easy to get away from other hunters. Going in by boat is usually how to get away from most folks. Hope y'all enjoyed your trip to Arkansas!
I just moved to Arkansas from Georgia and deer hunted a lot of public land down there. What’s some tips or things that will be different hunting public land in Arkansas.

Them boys need to try some real hunting down here in southern Louisiana and see how hard it is these southern deer are as smart as they come with all the pressure they get not to mention everything is either hardwood flats or swamp with big woods so onX doesn't help me much other than marking spots and using the gps if they can kill a good buck down here then they done something these deer don't even look at the ground they walk around looking in trees 1 move and you're busted and it's like they have a 6th sense sometimes they bust out for no reason wind is right you're not moving and they bust like they know you're there somehow this swamp is some hard hunting and good luck dragging a deer out or just trying to walk through some of this stuff you need hip boots minimum preferably waders because you will be sinking everywhere you walk unless you're in some hardwoods flats
Lots of people over look our state as for hunting but Arkansas has some great hunting to be done

Watching Ted driving on that side of the boat drives me nuts. The tiller on outboards is on the far side of the motor so you can sit more centered and drive with your left hand. He’s One of the best hunters on TH-cam.
Have you seen his last three shots on video? I'd say he's a better camera man than a hunter
You sit on the starboard side and use your left hand so you can "open" and "close" the throttle. Sitting how he does is ass backwards.

Agree Ted really is !!he’s a sponge and picked up the best of Aaron Greg Zach and he and jake are two of the best I’ve seen in 60 years … Ted has a great personality that comes across on screen

And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

Northwest Arkansas here! I just hunt my farm but even staying away from the neighbors is hard 😂
Don’t give up on Arkansas! We have some really good deer if you’re willing to put the time in to find them! If you find yourself around NE Arkansas I would check out Dave Donaldson Black River or the St. Francis river. There’s lots of good public land that you can access by boat and get away from the crowd. Good luck, and happy safe hunting.

Same here. We live in Lowell but most of my hunting is where this video was. I recognized two different camera shots.
My dad was the same way my whole life and I got him out there during the rut this year with his new cross bow and he loved it. Archery season is just the best time to be in the woods. He seen more bucks and seen bucks chasing does. He’s really enjoyed the rut looking forward to years to come now that he’s archery hunting.

I hunted around Cabot Arkansas when I was in the Air Force and there were crazy big bucks there. I wasn't expecting to have deer that size and was glad to see them. Definitely a state id go back and hunt for sure.

Where at in Arkansas?? I got some public land around here called St,Francis sunken lands Zone 4. Check it out it’s woods for days and trails. You should come down and hunt, we got some giant Arkansas bucks back there

Hey Warb, my wife has Celiac & has been gluten free for several years. It’s taken awhile to figure out what she can eat but it’s definitely easier now days with more people going gluten free.
Rice cakes aren't the answer to gluten problems. They have simular properties to gluten and gliden. Conventional wisdom pushes high fiber which is totally wrong. Try a all animal diet and a few fruits for a while then add other foods slowly. Got to think.....gut micro biome.
You boys need to check out Dardanelle WMA if you come back to Arkansas....and definitely bring the boat.
Warb, you should look in to making chaffles for your gluten free diet. It's a bread substitute made with eggs, almond flour, baking powder and mozzarella cheese. They taste amazing and are keto and gluten free

Feed trees are key in Arkansas
Many years ago I hunted Arkansas a lot. Back then you could hunt tens of thousands of acres of timber companies land free. You could set up a camp and get to hunting. Then all of the sudden they put up signs and hired patrol staff. I stopped going there. Heard stories of those patrol guys had it rough from the locals. And there were some fires set? No idea if that’s true but I wouldn’t doubt it. Beautiful country.
I live in northwest Arkansas and you have to find the right spot once you do you see a lot of deer

@@JimRyser I cannot wait to watch!!! Yup, I’ll always be a hunter no matter what I have to do. I have severe nerve damage in my legs and right arm. I’ve had 6 toes amputated and 2 fingers. Due to nerve damage complications. It’s a long story. I got sick when I was 12, I’m 31 now. Hunting def has kept me sane. Nothing beats a good sunrise!! Can’t wait to watch your hunt Mr. Jim! Lookin forward to it!

Yes, things can be difficult for me. But at least I’m still here. When I was 12 and not doing good I went into septic shock and things weren’t looking good. But god had a plan for me. I’m just trying my best! Ik you have dealt with some medical problems as well. I look up to you sir. It’s been so nice talking back and forth with you. Y’all are the best in the business!

If y’all are in Felsenthal the Ouachita river is at an all time low because they are working on the lock and dam. Great deer and great woods to hunt, feed trees and pinch points between sloughs and thickets are the way to go. Most people don’t come to Arkansas to hunt the swamps but it’s some of the best hunting in the state as far as the caliber of deer.
