I’ve listened to every podcast Warren has ever done. This is the first video podcast setup with him that I’ve seen. Thank you for making the drive to do a video interview with a living legend! Outstanding!
You don't have any idea how much a good campfire discussion like this is to people who are navigating their way into hunting completely on their own. As he said, there is a wealth of information on youtube but I value experience over theory every time so thanks from South TX.
I've been knowing Warren for 15 + years and when I first saw your channel, I wondered why you hadn't interviewed him! As a Biologist, I would tell him with his documentation skills that he should have been a Wildlife Biologist! He taught me so much over the years and I still and love the Loc-On Limit and woodpecker drill system where usable or the strap-on sticks! At 71, Warren is my HERO! Love that Guy!
This episode along with the one with Bobby makes me realize what a treasure it is to be able to listen to two legends in the world of hunting the southern whitetail. Gentlemen like these 2 have the knowledge, experience and wisdom that we all can learn from especially the younger generation of hunters to be able to see just how far hunting has came along. These 2 gentlemen even though by today’s “standards” may be old school, they have done things most will never be able to accomplish or replicate. Being a true woodsman and having to learn how to be successful from your own experiences and mistakes without the luxuries of modern day technology is truly becoming a lost art. I am old enough to remember the days before trail cams, the internet and social media and listening to these 2 episodes really has given me a new appreciation for being able to look back and reminisce on how we used to do it without using what so many these days rely on as necessities to be successful. Such a great episode and really enjoy you guys taking the time to interview folks such as Warren and Bobby. Keep up the great work and stay southern guys!
As always, excellent job guys. To M. Warren, Thankyou for sharing your life with us all. You are truly deserving and a great example of what woodsman ship looks like.
This was one of the best informational podcasts I’ve listened to. The questions were awesome and the years of knowledge were really cool to listen to. Making sure your bow and arrows are set and finding your own way to shoot was about the best info I’ve heard out there. Great podcast.
I know Mr. Warren and have talked to him about hunting tactics. He has a ton of knowledge, but everyone can gain knowledge. What he had that made him such a great hunter was drive and he put in the work. Most people, including myself aren't going to dedicate themselves to hunting the way he did.
What a great interview and fascinating man. Reminds me of the old timers in my home country (my Dad included), who did it all from scratch, on foot, and at a time without internet/GPS etc... Brilliant. Thank you.
Ok. First off, great episode. But I really want to give you props for a very thoughtful and intelligent series of questions. You're very good at what you do, and as someone who is good at what he does, I notice, and appreciate. God speed boy, God speed.
Tuning in from up North. But southern VT so I count myself as worthy of listening heheh. In humble appreciation for what a fellow highly experienced human (who speaks my language) has to offer. Respect!
Love that you guys are finding these older guys with a lifetime of experience and knowledge. Keep it up! The biggest issue with trail cameras in my opinion is that if you don’t get a picture of a buck you want to shoot then you get the idea there’s none in the area. Those cameras only cover a very small percentage of the ground you hunt.
This is my first time finding yalls channel and out of the hundred (maybe thousands) of podcasts I’ve listened to I believe this may be my favorite podcast guest of all time. Unreal the info this guy has
Thanks man! We are glad you found our channel. We have had a lot of guests on the show over the years so we are sure you’ll find other episodes on here you’ll enjoy!
As a fellow Louisiana hunter, Mr. Warren has been a household name. Man What I’d give to be part of that hunting buddy group back then. The innovation and dedication is admirable. Thanks for all you’ve done for the southern Hunter Mr. Womack.
I’ve been following Mr Womack for about 5 years now on Facebook and I listened to the podcast you guys did with him 5 years ago as well. Man is a straight killer. Never heard of anyone else more obsessed than him!
It’s great you got Warren Womack on a video podcast. Time to get Gene & Barry Wensel on too! These old timers won’t be around forever and getting their perspectives and collective experiences documented will be immensely helpful for future generations of bowhunters. Randy Ulmer would also be another great interview!
Warren is an absolute gentlemen and great story teller. I had the privilege of meeting him in 2021 at a Tethrd Teach N Train in Baton Rouge. It was a memorable event for me. Godspeed Mr. Womack
Warren you are such an inspiration to us bowhunters! Thank you for being such a down to earth brother of the bow and being so humble even though you have accomplished so much. I love to learn from you and hearing your insight about the great personal contest between us and the fantastic animals we enjoy pursuing.
What a great example of a true hunter. Could relate to lot of his methods. I also set up a bow stand for practice in my orchard. Have decoy and helps be ready for the season
The four years I was at Willow Point on the Mississippi River working as a guide, I wore out a pair of Lacrosse rubber boots each year. That takes lots of steps to nearly wear a pair of those slick. It took that much scouting to keep clients on fresh sign.
Great interview. Listening to Warren has taught me a lot over the years. He has a great video on his TH-cam channel on how to field quarter a deer. I recommend people watch if you haven't done it before.
I live in pa ,and my father made a climbing tree stand in the mid 60's and then later on before the 80's started using the baker treestand, i was using a baker when i started bowhunting in 79 at 10 yo, my dad was bowhunting in his teens in the early 60's
1st trail cam I used was 35 mm. Load a role of 36 and wait till all or most pics were taken. Then you had to get the film developed and look at the picture. Defiantly a process and that was early 2000’s . I still have one that works .
I could understand what he was saying about not wanting to get hurt in the fall and miss the hunting season Because I need a double hip replacement And I need to have it right now but I won't do it until after the November rut I'm scheduled for December 2nd
I am astonished how hip this guy is at 80. Listen to his conversational cadence and the words and concepts he connects. He is fully in the present while remaining a reliable connection to the past. I never heard of Warren but I want to know more. Is his journal that is repeatedly referenced available for purchase?
im a gun hunter. i have a bow but have never taken the time to take hunter safety for bow due to bow season being one of my busiest seasons. ive never heard of this guy but other than using stands i use a LOT of the same methods just from walking out and learning on my own. my dad turned me onto hunting at a very young age but died 2 days before i turned 21 so i never truly got all his knowledge so i had to figure it out myself. i did kill an 8 pointer. 160 lbs once with two broken antlers. he just had stubs for antlers but other than that…. ive shot at some nice deer but still havent gotten my racked buck. im trying though. eventually i will get one. but its very reassuring to hear this guy talk about my style of hunting.
I hunt exactly how this fellar hunted in his prime. Some stand hunting mixed with some still hunting scouting mixed in and never spend a ton of time in one tree.
At 1:20:00. I felt that. Walking with 100lbs of decoys and gear across half mile of wet chisel plow. I now have an ALICE pack for the past couple years thank god.
I really identify with this Gentleman. I will be 60 this December. I am an Industrial Electrician. I have been a Traditional Bowhunter for 4 decades. I went through a trophy hunter phase. Probably by 30 I realized the real trophy was the meat to feed my family. I still kill big bucks if they come by but, I might be out of tags before the big one comes by.
I'm just now getting around to reading these comments and wanted to say... Thank You, to all that took time to watch this podcast. I'm overwhelmed by your interest, support and positive comments. Best wishes to all.
The first time a deer hunted was in 1979. I climbed 2×4 steps & sat on a double 2x4 seat nailed to a branch. I was wearing white tennis shoes, blue jeans & no face protection from the cold. Once I would get down it was hard to walk because my feet would be frozen stiff & the side of my face that was in the wind would be numb. I was 12. The gun I used was a full choke 12 gauge. The gun was longer than I was tall.
We are so blessed to have such a strong deer population these days with many areas just 40 years ago having zero! Now the USA has more deer than have even existed pre colonial.
I’ve listened to every podcast Warren has ever done. This is the first video podcast setup with him that I’ve seen. Thank you for making the drive to do a video interview with a living legend! Outstanding!
To our knowledge this is the only video podcast he's ever done as well. We are excited to be able to share it with everyone!
Awesome! Warren is the man
He absolutely is! Thanks for watching!
THP! Modern legends!

I’d like to meet him.. I’m originally from Oakdale, Louisiana & go down to LA some.
You're a lucky fella.
Favorite guest thus far. Didn’t grow up with a presence of a grandfather so this is scratching an itch I didn’t know I had

Old timer got me re-motivated after a couple light til dark days only seeing a couple fawns. Great interview, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed it!
