I love this city. I just made a video showcasing some of my favorite parts of it. I encourage anyone who hasn't visited it to see it for themselves. I fell in love with this place years ago. It feels like home now.
Heading back in August but actually worked for 2 years at the PX on the US Army base there, long before becoming a teacher. From Ansbach to Rothenburg to Wurzburg, the area is beautiful and can’t wait to share it with my family. Keepin on travelin
The Residenz was severely damaged in World War II and wonderfully restored afterwards. The mirror room was actually destroyed and recreated from an old photograph, a watercolor painting and a surviving fragment!
The West of Germany lacks a bit tbh. Dortmund, Düsseldorf for example or Gelsenkirchen are not necessarily the most beautiful. They do however make up for it with the people there. They are quite open minded
A beautiful 18th century painted ceiling with a portrait of the Catholic Prince Bishop surrounded by GREEK gods. Nominally Christian but when it came to art, culture, elegance and beauty, definitely pagan. I wonder why ?

Was stationed down the road in Kitzingen and spent a lot of time in Wurzburg. Nice to see it again.
Cant believe you even visited Würzburg! Born and raised here haha
Wow. I can't wait to visit Germany again. How is this palace in comparison to Schonbrunn palace in Austria?
It's better!
Schonbrunn is a little bigger and has a larger park, but Wurzburg Palace is more lavish and extravagant.
Würzburger Residenz is smaller and better
Wow. Thank you!! So nice.
Love it
Hello, can I use some scenes to my learning English vlog, please? I put full credit to your channel and video. Great video! :)
Very good

Name of music?

Germany's places of grandeur and importance are spread evenly across the country.
The West of Germany lacks a bit tbh. Dortmund, Düsseldorf for example or Gelsenkirchen are not necessarily the most beautiful. They do however make up for it with the people there. They are quite open minded
It's only in Europe that you can find such a thing ... not in China or America !
michel brillaud ...each nation and region has its own uniqueness, that makes it beautifully different from other places.
@no issues no rokkoko in China, get it
@@jbhann It's true what he said though. You can not find as grand and lavish 18th century palaces or churches in other parts of the world.

According to Napoleon the most pompous rectory in the world.
dear Rick Steve, Würzburg was never the capital of a (non existent) state of Franconia. Otherwise it is a well made video
Würzburg was a Capital of the now known territory of lower franconia
@@clausstimpfig3803 nein, nein, nein. A state of lower Franconia never existed.
@@tamino27 halllo habe ich doch gesagt...Lesen bitte.
If Steve's would stop pushing Christianity and showing more of these historic places, his films would be more interesting.
But such a Christianity identifies this kinda regional places as a cultural background, isn’t it?
Played a heavy metal festival here. Good times.
