Truly creepy watching MSM coverage. Zero mention of policy, amlo, morena, just "yay a Jewish woman president, how neato!" And rush to something else
Because that's the only way they know how to talk about politics. They are soulless corporate robots
That's basically American and western politics for you it's all identity politics and rarely talk about policy because it's not their country lol they did the same with Rishi Sunak when he got elected in the UK it's all "yay diversity" and completely ignoring how the Tories have basically ruined the UK and how they keep swapping leaders left and right lol
Identity politics is so helpful. It helps the elites pretend that the rabble have no material concerns.
Is there any surprise that the media focuses only on race and gender? As long as it’s not a white man they are super pleased
The funny part is that Claudia isn't religious or a zįønįst. She's actually pro-palestine.

We understand perfectly well that Mexico has a pretend government.
Mainly because we have the same "government" here in the US.
Can we get a progressive, atheist president who is willing to condemn genocide in the US? Mexico is looking better than us now lol
since 2018 we are looking better, we are proud of our leader, I've haven't seen that in a while in the north (that also goes to Canada) you just took your sweet time to notice. Our hope is Claudia follows and improves what has been done.
Shes larping, this is why you people lose for eternity
The PRI party held power for 70 yrs.! During this time the people were impoverished and the infrastructure and PEMEX were forgotten! AMLO started the 4th Transformation which meant that Mexico should use its oil for domestic use and become energy independent and he stopped wasting public funds instead he’s using these monies to fund and improve important infrastructure such as the train Maya and the train Trans-Isthmus which will connect the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts. There is an unprecedented direct foreign investment by many countries in Mexico! Scheinbaum has promised to continue the programs started by AMLO which is why she enjoyed such a landslide victory! All of Latin America admires the direction and progress that this Mexican government is going!
If the US is upset with your elections then you know you've elected the right person. Good job Mexico!

I tune in to Breaking Points every week to stay informed about world and American politics, as they have so much influence here in Mexico. I believe you are one of the few platforms that can be trusted. I've always been curious about why you guys never speak about your next-door neighbor. I was happy to see you finally did a piece, but it felt a little biased. I hope you can interview more people for a broader perspective.
If I may, here are a few things I think are part of the context and you may find interesting:
AMLO is the first leftist president since before WWII; Lazaro Cardenas nationalized the oil industry in 1938. According to Gallup and several other polls, AMLO is the most popular president in history with almost 80% approval. Considering Breaking Points' take on mass media, you might find it interesting that most of the oligarchy and mass media are against AMLO and Dr. Sheinbaum. AMLO made them pay taxes for the first time ever and took away much of the funding they were previously receiving from the government.
One of the reasons I love Breaking Points is your critique of politicians' opacity. AMLO holds a daily morning press conference at 7 AM, answering open questions from any media reporter, even from other countries. Breaking Points could send a reporter if you want. He has live debates with mass media reporters and good independent journalists. It's kind of like a podcast, featuring his cabinet giving government updates and addressing specific cases, from dramatic shootings across the country to archaeological discoveries from the construction of the Maya Train in the Gulf peninsula.
I'd really love to see you cover the number one trade partner of the US more deeply. Thank you for your work. I will stay tuned as always from Tijuana, Mexico.
As a Mexican I agree. I don't think I ever saw any previous president holding a press conference with open questions. Do you?
I'm also mexican, from Monterrey more precisely, I would love that AMLO was REALLY left wing, but he wasn't. In those same press conferences you talk about, how many times did he sidestep specific questions with "Tengo otros datos (I've other data)" That's straight out of the Trump manual. He did nothing to legalize drugs, cancelling the airport in Mexico city without an ounce of evidence it was a corrupt operation, the militarization, cancelling green energy contracts, etc. He did some good things, like increasing vacation days for employees, and increasing minimum wage (although considering inflation in reality minimum wage has decreased), Maya train was a good idea but badly planned and worse execution. That fact that he was better than idiot Peña Nieto and previous cronies doesn't make him good. We have to learn that if someone call themselves left wing doesn't make them so. For our American friends, it's like Featherman when he called himself leftwing.
Yeah, and Vicente Fox forgot that he´s not a true Mexican either.
So where is he from??
Shinbiem "refuses to criticize" Amlo?!?!? WOW! Could it be because they are members of the SAME party, and that PARTY (Morena) has a PLATFORM, and because she has pledged to continue Amlo's progressive programs which are representative of the Party Platform?!?!?
yes. i forgot no two members of the same party can disagree on a single thing.

I’m sure the 339 aggressions in 2024 towards candidates in Mexico including murder, disappearances, kidnapping, etc had nothing to do with anyone’s behavior.
Her parents are not Jewish, her parents were born and raised in Mexico. It was her grandparents who were Lithuanians-Jewish.
The Jewish-Mexican thing is nothing new. Sephardim, who had thrived in Moorish Spain, emigrated to New Spain (Mexico) to escape the Spanish Inquisition under the Papist regime. These closet Jews favored remote locations in which to practice their faith, and that is considered a factor in the settlement of New Mexico by Spanish immigrants.
The problem with crime in mexico has to do with the judicial system. Hopefully the judicial reform solves the problem. Judges releasing criminals. People think is the president or the police. When the criminals get cought, they go free.
Aside from the judicial system the U.S. is also as frail for the crime in Mexico most of the murders with guns in Mexico are done with guns the US sells with no restrictions and are smuggled by US citizens to Mexico.
It's the president, it's cabinet and the Parliament who decide how the country runs, including if there is a change in the Justice system. They support the cartel, that's why things haven't changed.
@@azzv.kuskatan the opposition has halted any reform, crying about liberty. the old guard has always benefited from corruption in the judicial system not just the cartel. This has been an issue even before the cartels existed. This is also a problem with petty crime
The judges in Mexico have to decide cases on the light of the evidence. They also have to ensure that the due process of law is observed during the trial. If the persecutors are unable to prove that a defendant is guilty or they obtain evidence illegally, then the judges have to release the defendant. In such a case, the prosecutor is to blame not the judge. The federal prosecutors in Mexico work under the President's authority so ultimately it is the President's fault that the police and DAs are so incompetent. Amlo blames the judges because he is unable to accept responsibility for anything that goes wrong with his government.
@@Crisfer05Maybe Mexico should build a wall. Who is buying the guns?

She's obedient to AMLO and Morena, nothing else.
They do this with many issues- their work is very contrived. They are owned by large powerful entities.
AM,O raised the minimum wage by 120 %, tripled the pension old people, there are more scholarships for students, he lowered his own salary to half, he is a man for the people, no bodyguards, no private airplane for him, he built a new modern airport, a new train that will travel to Central America. New President Claudia won because she was part of his team. They have worked together for 26 years in pro of citizens.
Interesting point about the stagnation of Mexico’s minimum wage paralleling NAFTA’s need for low wage workers!

The people of Mexico are being pulled out of poverty and America is freaking out. That should tell you what America is about. Mexico is using their resources to help the Mexican people. @Kai-tn4yx per capita doesn't mean shit, I'm talking about where the most bodies are being stacked up.
If there are 2 hicks shot dead in a city of 30 people, but 150 dead in DC, who is the main contributor to gun murders?

Mexican elections:
•voter ID required
•finger stamped after voting
•one day, in person voting
•no mail in ballots
•same day/next day results
Actually, Mexico accepted many distant ballots. Mexican consulates across the world opened to allow Mexican citizens abroad to vote remotely.
@@down-to-earth-mystery-school Mexico accepted very few in comparison to in person votes… Way less than one percent, and each of those had been vetted through a govt consulate. It’s an extreme example and a very poor argument.
My wife is Mexican and I’ve asked her before why they don’t accept mail in ballots & she always laughs and says “because of fraud “… That should be everyone’s normal answer, 100% of the time. You know when I know that MALIN ballots just fight fraud, so don’t try to tell me that Mexico does it just like the United States and let people mail in their ballots… Because they don’t😂
I think they can register online and then vote online.
It’s more democratic to make it easier for people to vote. I like many agree u need to have a voter id no one is against that, what people hate about voter id laws is that they make it a hassle for people in some areas especially for minorities. And even after getting voter id they get scrutinized for having a different skin color, or voting is made difficult in their area.
Now if mail in voting is allowed there should be security around that 24/7, with video surveillance and police guarding the areas. The mail in votes have to have a time frame though to make it more transparent and ease up fears. They should only start from September and end mid October and all of those mail in votes should be counted first and shown on tv by November 1 and on election night the race should start from there, no more mail ins should come after that.
But same day voting should be like emphasized by declaring November 8 a national holiday, get the day of off, also if employees have to go get registered employers should give them a break or employees should get out early or get the day off to register. The country definitely needs more polling locations, voting shouldn’t take people all day in line. U also need police presence and arrest any person that is harassing the people in line whether they are liberals or conservatives.

3.i agree that voting should be day of, and n person, with valid ID…we should follow Mexico & vote on a Sunday, in person & with our equivelant of their federally issued/free INE ID.
4.The real voter interference is when they’ve only got 1 location for like 35,000 people…this has happened the last few years & it’s purposeful.
There is more than ample volunteers & locations to return in person voting to what it was 5yrs ago.
@@DePalma. 1. you don't show ID to use food stamps, you also don't photo id to get on the program. 2. Plenty of places don't card if you look old enough, 3. you solved part of the rot of the issue with your number three, you don't have to put out ignorant shit. Limited time frames are restrictive for lower income people, most work on Sundays so that doesn't work in of itself, it has to be a nationally recognized holiday that allows for all business to have paid time off on it. You also have to make PHOTO ID easier to acquire both in terms of time and price. Otherwise allow online voting, if you can submit your taxes online safely, you can vote just fine. You can audit by giving a print off with a unique ID number for the ballot rather than name, and have it cross referenced after the fact, even use a 3rd party nonpartisan organization on top of it.

The streets of Mexico City are paved with waterproof concrete and asphalt, people throw garbage and the drains are clogged, so the streets flood. The water does not penetrate and does not reach the natural deposits
What is needed is to remove all the concrete and replace it with permeable concrete and fine the people who litter, sentence them to pick up the trash. There is also a lack of public trash cans. The public plumbing has not been maintained in 70 years. The entire infrastructure has to be renovated and updated. Same with the sewage system.
There is also a problem that concessions are given to buildings and shopping centers that consume a lot of water without taking into account the neighbors and their homes. Corruption.
Yep, I live in Chihuahua City and our water gets turned off at 9am every day, but the shopping center by the fancy mall and the golf course never have water restrictions. Income inequality is wide here, similar to the US.

lol they were not her opponents, they were candidates for state and municipal positions mostly.
37 runners for local municipality. They weren't even candidates yet. They were not presidential candidates. The news keeps spreading this misinformation.
@@francisfiallos1654 are you? What party were the candidates from?
@@Anacav80 are you for real? They killed the opposition but you still asked what does it have to do with the elected president?
WOW!!! Great conversation.
Excelent coverage, thanks guys!! 👏👏
09:24 which baggage are you talking about? Wasn't it clear enough that those accusations are nothing but LIES as usual?
AMLO rocks
Why the hysteric situaton about Claudia being Jeuish?? In other countries?? No issues in México..... Jesus!!
Went to a MORENA rally here in NYC since my mother is a die hard follower. I myself am unaligned with any Mexican politics since I was born in the US. Anyone who claims she is a Jewish plant is laughably absurd and ignorant of grassroots movements of Latin America.
Mexican political rallies in NYC smh. Build that wall
@@wtice4632Mexican a kings of tunnels, let me give you a hint there is people who have never seen the light of day because that’s all their life…. Biggest cave systems on the world , there is a reason Mexican American war they had to flank thru coast into Veracruz capital …

amlo doesnt hate the media he corrects the media in his mananera
No mames
for the rain, they need to call curanderos from all across the country including the formerly Mexico in the US southwest, for one mega ritual for rain.
América stop sending weaponds to México
"Turns out her husbands name is ... Hey-Zeus" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I can’t believe we’re talking about this as if it’s real at all. What a circus 🎪
This is great!! Loved the segment!
awesome interaction between these team members, subscribed
"US media FREAKS" - I know these titles are for clickbait, but damn. No one is freaking out about this, guys.
Best of Luck to Claudia Sheinbaum! We voted for her and we will support her project.
Really.. How are you gonna do that?? 😂😂😂
@@jonathan7249 🤣🤣! Corrupt Citizens of Mexico cant accept still a total defeat.
The cartels delivered.
Great interview
'Why do you keep calling me Jesus?? Do I look Porte Rican to you? It's Hey, Zeus!' - Samuel L. Jackson, Die Hard 3
I've seen and known a lot of Puerto Ricans that look like Sam Jackson!
Amlo, Bukele, are the best. One on the left the other the right of politics but both awesome. Viva Latinoamérica
Mexico isn't a dollarized country like little colony El salvador. No comparison there!
I love the Americans and they’re the best for a neighbor like Mexico.
It proves how dumb and stupid AIPAC is. Jesùs!
so its almost like center-right social policy and left wing economics works.
To make the economy stagnant and to increase cartel control, yes
@@azzv.kuskatan the president in Mexico has been fighting against the cartel his entire term, RINO
Why are the Spotify episodes now only for premium users? Breaking points was my go to show for news but I can’t afford an extra subscription . Not a fan of the paid for media
It is complete 'uncut' programs, that are for premium subs, I think. My sub expired and it disappeared from PocketCasts too. I could never listen to 2+ hours in one sitting, so fragments on YT are easier for me.
Why you worry about something should not concern anyone but citizens of MEXICO
Wages in MEXICO WENT UP 120% stop the lies
Not all countries are alike. Japan, Singapore, Bhutan, for example likely safe throughout.
Yea !! But why? No guns are sold on those country’s ,, and the us flows mexico with guns , why you think amlo kicked out the DEA out of Mexico , there the ones that really have deals with the cartels.
37 candidates were assasinated
Obviously PAN and PRI who are friends with the Cartels don’t want to loose power
América stop sending weaponds to México.....that would help
Tell the U.S. government to stop sending weapons to Mexico and you will see those numbers drop considerably
yes, and its very curious that 80 percent of those assassinated candidates were from the president's own party, that tells you something about the opposition.
@@diosdelcielo how about mexicans just stand up for their country and clear the streets of gangs? Oh wait they don't because they are PUSS in boots😂

Great segment! The guest was spot on and i like how he added additional context
This was excellent! Thank you.
What about the assassinations? 37 assassinations
What about them? We have 30 to 40 in average every single election for the past 40 years.
They are nothing new. This might have been a particularly bloody election season, but political assassinations go back decades.
county level candidates not related to the presidential elections.
