No! No! No! The Prophet Rev 2 is not the best hardware synth to make trap beats and it is far from the best! Synthesizers such as the Waldorf Quantum and Iridium, Access Virus TI 2, Roland JD-XA, and the Hydrasynth, and workstations such Korg Kronos, Yamaha Montage, or Roland Fantom would be the best to make trap or hip hop. Promoting the idea that the Rev 2 is even good for trap is as if you're setting up people for disappointment and to waste their money. The Rev 2 is a analog synth with typical, limited analog tonal range and lacking oscillator cross mod to increase its tonal range, and has one 12/24 db low pass filter aka Curtis filter that has a very, very unique flavor, and has one effect per layer, yes one effect per layer, that's something you shouldn't leave out when describing this synth. I recommend that anyone looking for one dedicated hardware synth to make trap or hip hop music to never purchase an analog synthesizer unless you have multiple synthesizers to reach the tone ranges and achieve the sounds that one analog synth can't.
