Glad to see that dangerous old porch roof come down safely rather than on y'all's heads randomly. That room looked cool but definitely wasn't safe. Y'all dodged a bullet. I love Max. Every time I see him I wanna reach through the screen and give him gentle head pats and tell him what a good boy he is.
This project is coming along beautifully. Loved the neighbor across the road "raking" his yard. 😅 You are definitely giving the neighborhood something awesome to watch. Take care and stay safe. God bless you. 🙏
Great work! It's honestly impressive how you adapt and readjust when things go wrong. That's a super useful trait in life. Roofing during a rainy night is a rare level of friendship.
Howdy from Western Australia. I found your channel at the beginning of this project and it has quickly become one of my most favourite things to watch. Keep up the good work; I’m loving it!
💜💜💜 I love your huge base of knowledge for you trade and your endless common sense. I also love your confident way of dealing with unsolicited advice and criticism in the comments. This is one of the best channels I have ever watched and I am excited to see what the end result will be! Thank you for sharing. From an old woman in southern California.
@@99Projects You are more than welcome. In a perfect world, you could have picked your target audience. I'm fairly certain I and others like me would not have been on that list. I am so very glad that I found you.
It just amazes me the huge set of skills y'all have, from equipment to construction, to pull off this giant project by yourselves! Thanks for all of your hard work!
Sorry about the dump truck...I am seventy years old, and have remodeled/refurbished/restored many vehicles, buildings, and properties as cost efficient as possible...and am well aware of the the unforeseen frustrations that come with this kind of work...I respect your gumption in the way you shake a set-back-off and keep moving ahead until the job is finished...the reward will be worth it.
I'm totally enjoying this series. I'm 81 years old and I have always been afraid of heights. So, I envy you your youth and fearlessness. Keep the great stuff coming. I hope to live long enough to see it finished. LOL. It looks like there are some nice homes around where this is at. Nice neighborhood.
I'm a little surprised the roof was in as good of a condition as it was. But then I'm an absolute novice at roof repair. The water barrier did it's job admirably.
Snow = a good reason to put your very expensive "toys" in for the night before you go home. Take care of your toys & then they will work when they are supposed to work.
Binge watching you guys and this project over the past two nights; good stuff! Impressive determination, know-how and resilience. Looking forward to more…
It's crazy seeing snow. Here in SC we've been having weather in the 90s already. The entire winter was even warm. There were a few days that it got to freezing or just below, but never consistently cold. When I was young we'd get snow every year. In the last few years we may have gotten it a couple days and it'd melt almost immediately.
Looking great! I truly hope there is another porch in the plans. Nothing like a shady, safe from the rain spot to sit outside and watch it rain... And the sounds on that metal roof will be heavenly! Keep it up! Lovin' every minute of it!☺
One helluva good job guys - as you so rightly said - it is so good to have such good friends! Thanks for the time you take in editing and uploads - makes for great viewing!
When the last piece fell and he gave a thumbs up i did it back to him saying YEAH!! 👍👍 The porch was done precisely without damage. 👏👏👏👏 You do an awesome job pushing trees down , getting the dirt off then filling the holes back in. Max is a beautiful rottie! Haha i loved how you helped the dump truck get up in there! Sorry about losing the dump truck! Hope you can find a new engine or a new one. I like the new rig! My 11 year old grandson loves all you diggers and dozers, he's watching and learning
I hate watching roof videos it scares me but its u so ill get through it!! Coming along great! Give Max a good v6oy from me looks like u got great neighbors and good friends God bless
You make some of the most relaxing and cool content Ive seen! Its so cool to watch you renovate and fix up this house i get so excited when I see you post!
Also, that roof must have been brand new not long before the place was abandoned. They didn't start mass producing 4x8 sheets of plywood till the late 20s. Probably the only reason it held up and in turn, the entire cabin. Pretty awesome
I'm building an apartment inside a pool house about 350 square foot. I've just about finished the framing for the walls. Now I should be confident enough to add the polymer plastic I will need to line the ceiling and walls for insulation. Then I will finish the sheathing
It's good to see a young man with a good work ethic. I wondered what area of the northeast this was. Finally, figured it out. Hopefully, this guy has a nice woman and makes at least 5 kids. We need to replenish our population of good hardworking people in this country.
Im not sure how you are with mechanics, but I'd go over the bucket truck well before putting it in service for work. It was sold for a reason. I'd want to do my due diligence and find out what was wrong with the bucket truck. OMG That roof,,, that can't possibly be the original one, can it? Was anything found that could help date the roof? Mind blown🤯 Good luck how ever ya'll go❣️
I'm very sorry to hear about the dump truck, as I know how integral it is to your small-but-mighty fleet of vehicles. Hopefully we can get some funds rolling in for a new engine via "top chats" during one of your upcoming live streams. I promise to kick in at least a sawbuck if I'm there. Great video, as usual!
Im from the UK, watch all of your videos as they are awsome. Only just realised i hadnt subscribed (have now). Keep up the great work the rewards will be amazing.
Finally, finally, finally,.......This is the video that I've been waiting for. where you tear off the God awful roof! I probably would have done that first thing. Looking great guys.
That bucket coming in the door at 14.54 was like an alien!. Why the hell is this stuff so hypnotising to watch? Do women like to watch this content or is it just guys?
The first thing I would have done after buying the cabin would have gotten rid of the dangerous porch roof, that was halfway collapsed. I am thrilled you finally got rid of it.
Boy! Talk about racing against daylight! Nice job getting that roof installed before it really let loose on you guys. Though, I really feel sorry for the dump truck. I like seeing older classic diesel trucks still used if they're still in good shape structurally and mechanically. I hope you can someday rebuild or replace the engine!
Shawn Rhymes here. I've enjoyed watching this video of the progress on the place you're working on. I've seen the eclipse of the sun Way back in 1979 in the Pacific Northwest, not long before I heard Mount Saint Helens blow her top. Thanks for the video. Were you ever born back then?
love it!Cant wait util it done your very good and handy with your skills.Proud of you for restoring that house keep up the good work.Cant wait for the next vid.
If you didn't run the truck long out of oil, you should be able to drop the pan and pull the rod caps and main caps to check the bearing condition. You may have to jack the engine a bit to clear the crankshaft, depending on the frame. It's not a difficult job, just a tedious one. If the bearings are shot, replace them with new ones, refill with oil, and run it as long as you can. You will need a torque wrench for this job. The bearings are usually an aluminum alloy while the crank will be hardened steel, so the bearings will be chewed up before the crank.
I love how that little yellow thing just drags around that big dump truck!! 😂 I’m sorry the dump truck ended up dying in the end. I think you said you were going to rebuild a new front deck and porch, but are you going to rebuild that little room addition you tore down as well, or are you just restoring it back to the original plan?
That solar eclipse moment was a dash of specialness for this video. A landmark moment indeed.
That’s true

It would be cool to number the episodes not to get lost & confused.
For now I'm going with how old an episode is.
Tearing the addition off was a good opportunity to score a bunch of matching shingles to patch up the exterior walls of the main house.
Love the new window installation. It was so subtle you could barely tell the difference 🤣
I try to be careful lol

Nice to see when spring started your neighbors were out in full force trying to keep up with "their" new Jones's😂
Great job with this remodel.
Not only is this a construction project yet an adventure from start to finish. Thanks for your courage 99 Projects ❤
Thank you for watching. I really appreciate it
Oooh a ladder, that was a surprise and so was the eclipse, roof looks good and its looking tidy without the verandah, Cheers.
Loving watching Max and his pets work on this amazing dog house. 😁
the ghosts of the previous owners watching you take down their additions: 👁👄👁

It's looking good. Love that you chose a metal roof. It's the only roof to have really.
Shinagals are pretty good for a house
metal roof also means no phone service.

Booo to the dump trunk. I was in a meeting during the solar eclipse. Im glad someone got to take time to enjoy it! Even if it was cloudy.

About to go to bed and this drops at 2am. Damnit. I guess I'll be going to bed at 330.
