Right, I get jealous every time I watch one lol. Mine does not have most of the awesome things in here like the lundberg rice, date syrup, arugula or tofu. I used to always buy the frozen mango and they don't have it anymore 😢
Yes, I’m definitely seeing items not available in Ontario, but who knows maybe things will change. I laughed when you yesterday things were busy just before closing. My husband & I when on a Monday morning thinking we would not be in a crowd, wrong. Thanks for sharing your trip.👍❤️🙂
Thank you for being considerate to other people. 🧡 It’s so rude when other TH-camrs think it’s fine to film the public doing things like grocery shopping and eating at restaurants. Bravo for always being kind and considerate of others. 🌱

@@DebbiDePalma I’m so happy to hear that since I’m a Canadian. Having lived in the US, at least in Oregon and California. I’ve always felt that Canadians are short changed. Perhaps it depends on where you live in the US and where you live in Canada.🤔
It's so interesting to see the vegan supermarket food in other countries. Tip for easy cooking of brown rice (hay box style). Boil for 5 minutes, making sure the rice and water almost fills the pot. Then remove from heat and immediately wrap the pot tightly in two or more towels, and put a heavy weight on top of the towels. Let it sit for 2-4 hours and it's done. You can wrap up your rice and go out and it cooks while you're away. Another great video Derek and Crystal, thanks!
I just recently found those Thai frozen noodles at Costco and they are delicious. Your idea of adding more veggies and tofu makes it 100x better- thank you for that!
Hi, My wife & I are enjoying your channel & tasty recipes. We just switched to a plant based diet about 4 months ago and are really liking it. Thanks for the CostCo tip, never thought of them as a source for organic & vegan items, we just returned from there after watching your CostCo video and found lots of good stuff. Appreciate & enjoy your content, recipes & nutritional insights!
Thanks for another great video regarding Costco. I didn’t know about the date syrup so thank you. I’m in North Vancouver. I know you’re on Vancouver Island so hopefully our store in Burnaby’s got some. Also on the wild rice, I cook it in the rice maker, using the water amount you would for brown rice, and batch cook it so that I can freeze it into portions ready to go. And on the queso dip, I have made yours and it’s great!!! ❤❤
You two are so sweet to film at Costco, to show us what you have at your location. I think my next Costco haul will be more than frozen broccoli and roasted red peppers in a jar!😄👍
Thought it was funny you mentioned the costco being busy. I was wondering where you're located because that Costco was SO calm. I LOVE costco but its such an energy drain because its so busy it feels like bumper cars in there which leads me to not look around as much even though I know they sometimes have some real good gems.
It was less busy than usual, but still busy haha. We went an hour before closing! I've heard early morning and late at night it's not busy if that helps.
Thanks for sharing the tip about ground flaxseed. I’ve always felt guilty for using pre-ground flaxseed because I thought I wasn’t getting all the benefits but you’ve made me realize that it doesn’t matter.👍🥗
I'm sooo jealous Derek. Our Costco in US doesn't carry the half of the stuff that you get in Canada. Our beans are Goya with sodium, no vegan chocolate chips, no Queso dip, no good sweet potato, your Tofu is way better than ours 😒 no veggie burgers either, ours is the Chipotle Bean Burgers, no huge frozen mangoes either, no date syrup either.....so I guess not all Costco are the same
That’s interesting because so many Canadians complain that we don’t half the stuff that the US stores carry - I guess it depends on our individual tastes.
Totally agree... I'm always in Costco and barely can find good vegan products... I may find a few things plus I'll pick up the produce from there cuz it's cheaper than at the supermarket but other than that it's mostly for household items 😩
Sorry to hear of your Costco, but ours in SoCal has all the things you listed, even the date syrup. Not that I would get date syrup. I used to love Raos sauces, but after the Campbells buyout it's different. 🤔
Always find it interesting to see what healthy vegan stuff other Costcos carry. The queso dip looked really good. Some of my staples from my local one here in S. California are basalmic- so good, dates, flats of garbanzo & black beans, power greens, broccoli, matcha, frozen blueberries, strawberries, cherries & pineapple - all organic 😋
Dr. Praeger's is lowkey goated, it's a shame their price outside of Costco is so high, but they really know what they're doing. It's gotten to the point where even Shake Shack's latest veggie burger looks and eats like a near replica of a Dr. Praeger patty instead of some Beyond or Impossible thing. Great video as always, I love seeing what fellow plant-based folks choose and find joy in while stocking their larders.
This video is awesome. I don’t have my own membership, but my non-vegan friend does and always invites me to go on Costco runs, hahah. It’s so funny because my friend only purchases plant-based products from there (at least when I come along) and we cook the meals together, so it’s like a learning experience to see what plant-based meals are like! Shopping there is pretty great for those who cook often and to save money on groceries :)
My problem in Costco is going in hungry and spending more than I need 😢. My staples in my Florida Costco: maple syrup, tofu, dr Preager when available, salad, potatoes, sauerkraut, onions and Poppi prebiotic drinks 😂❤🎉
Nice haul….we get Organic Bitchin Sauce sooo good almonds chipotle yummyness also the go Raw organic sprouted pumpkin seeds are delish! And organic California dates and Walnuts ! SoCal San Diego we usually hit up the Carlsbad Costco
Pretty amazing score! We don't go to Costco, but in Toledo, OH, the nearest Costco, I'd be surprised to see this type of selection. Even the Whole Foods here closed down! Great selection. Great videography Crystal! ~Tracy
Not a lot, actually. I actually think there is so much stuff missing in the UK Costcos for Vegans. Also most importantly, not a lot of organic stuff... 😕
Costco is my favorite shopping place. If some items you've shown here are not carried at my local Costco store I could always leave them a note in the comment box. Great haul thanks!
I just picked up some organic red lentil penne pasta from Costco..so good and very high in protein. Great video guys. Keep up the good work & info! And yay on the pre-milled flax seed thumbs-up!Love the dive into the fresher greens, and the chair chill-out Derek...ur hilar😊❤
I wish my local Costco had the awesome food yours has! The only items that we have in common are the quinoa, organic pasta, fruit bars, spring mix and potatoes. Wish we had the chocolate chips, and some of the other items you pointed out. Oh, well! Thanks, this was fun!
So much fun watching you go food shopping. I love and can relate so much to Dereks exitement when finding nice stuff😍 I would love to have a similiar grocery store here in Sweden. You guys have so much organic and vegan stuff to choose from. We don't have anything even close to Costco 😭

I buy my fruits and vegetables there, and sprouts ✌️. So mainly fruits I eat. Every blue moon or so I eat a vegetable. Good store but wash the stuff for sure. I use aluminum free baking soda and vinegar.

We buy the fruit bars also, love them my only problem is my son steals them and mom gets left out. Thanks for showing you haul, I'm going to be moving hoping that the next Costco will have a bit more of a variety.
The UK stores are pretty poor for plant based. I can get nuts, quinoa, houmous, guac but tbh its very expensive so only go now and again. Love your vids!
Curious what you and crystal do on non filming days besides working out ..in the gym or out doors ..do you two have just lazy cozy inside do nothing days?? Love your videos.😊💜
If you're going to the Costco in Nanaimo, dinner time during the week is the best time to go. Which is what I'm going to do this week, to grab a jar of that date syrup! I didn't even know they had that!!
I have noticed the balsamic glaze a few times but did not pick up. Next time I will. I love the price of nuts (pumpkin seeds, cashews, walnuts etc.) at Costco. I buy quite a few of the same things as you but I will try the 2 snacks you tasted if we have them here in Kanata/Ottawa. I also love their Kirkland ginger kombucha. We buy the spring rolls as a treat every once in a while as well.
I love the "it's it" bars--- they are sold at Starbuck's too....in singles. I grab them while traveling through airports. Now I will look for them on our next Costco trip--
Thanks Derek! Wish we had the date syrup in eastern Canada. 😢 … luckily the cocoa powder is a staple on our shelves. Also love the sesame ginger crunch.
Love you guys 🥦💖 thanks for showing off natural vegan products. Do you have a vid already for crunchy veggie spring rolls? If not there's an idea, maybe sub aquafaba for the oil and air fry 🎉
Noodling around online showed me that only Costco has the organic version of Dr. Praeger's California (and "California Style") Veggie Burgers. Everywhere else (at least in the U.S.) has a non-GMO version, but not organic. In fact, the organic version you show on this video isn't even on the Dr. Praeger website. I like the Gardein beefless burgers, but since the Dr. Praeger's you showed have healthier ingredients, I'll try the non-GMO version, but I hope the organic version will make its way to the stores here. Thanks for the info re: pre-ground flax seeds, much appreciated. Another enjoyable and informative video, Derek!
The problem with Costco hauls is that every Costco location carries different stuff.
Still fun to see what other stores carry…especially plant based items!!
Right, I get jealous every time I watch one lol. Mine does not have most of the awesome things in here like the lundberg rice, date syrup, arugula or tofu. I used to always buy the frozen mango and they don't have it anymore 😢

The other thing I need to say is the Canadian Costco's have way more and better vegan products than here in the states.
