There's a great solution to all that unavoidable plastic! Here in Colombia we call it ecological bricks or love bottles. It consists of you getting a 1, 2 or 3 liter bottle and filling it up with all those plastic wraps. When your done per say with the walnuts, you cut up the wrap with scissors and you put it inside the empty bottles, as you put more and more plastic in you use a stick of some sort to push it in and make it really compact. It's amazing how much plastic you can put inside a bottle. At the end they end up so compacted that people here even use them to build houses, it's pretty amazing, wish I could send you pics. This, plus composting has been amazing cause there is pretty much no trash afterwards.
By the way I love your channel and all your videos, I have been vegetarian for many years but just very recently became completely vegan and your videos have been very inspiring and educational!

With regard to your vegetables, steaming root vegetables and tubers is quite a good and healthy way to eat them. I'm especially fond of steaming turnips, parsnips, sweet potatoes (of different kinds), in addition to carrots. You can then blend smooth each of these root veggies to thicken soups or mix into other recipes to add sweetness and a different flavor to other veggies and grains (like oats and buckwheat). If you have a high speed blender (e.g. Vitamix - I think this is what you have), you can of course make soups with your root veggies too. Also, learn to dry/dehydrate foods in the oven, unless you have a dehydrator, and make flours and powders, especially making use of lemon and orange rinds to add to baking goods anything else you want a citrus flavor added to -- including salads. But yes, reducing plastic is a good goal. There's a lot you can also make with lentils and chickpeas, especially if you blend them into a flour, including crackers and flatbreads.

I’ve made chocolate hummus at home and it’s so good. Below is the recipe if you want to try it.
1 15 oz can unsalted chickpeas drained and rinsed
1/4 cup cacao powder or cocoa (cocoa is roasted and cacao is raw)
    1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract alcohol-free preferred. Or you could use almond extract.
    3-4 Tbl unsweetened non-dairy milk
    2 Tbl tahini
    1/4 tsp sea salt
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or high speed blender until desired texture.
I personally like it fairly smooth. I used my vitamix and it worked great. You can eat it right away, but I think it’s better after it’s been in the fridge for a little bit. The chocolate taste in it reminds me of dark chocolate.

Yes, we are lucky to live in a low population area where there have been minimal cases (none in the last three weeks) so we are not required to wear masks. We did have some with us just in case we were asked to wear them.

Well over here in Guadalajara, it’s over 4 million habitants so, probably we’ll be wearing mask everywhere for the rest of the year, there’s not many cases, but it’s increasing day by day, anyway stay safe, it’s great to see some places coming back to “normal”

What we do is just put all of the groceries back into the shopping cart after they are scanned in. Then take them to the car and put them into our reusable bags. No way in hell im using plastic bags.

There's a chain of zero waste grocery stores in my city called Loco. It is very, very small. You have to use some sort of container at some point. They were big on reusing Mason jars until covid. They used to ask people to drop off their clean containers for customers to use, but of course the Ministry of Health stopped by and told them to stop. They caved in and started offering paper bags.

I just watched a couple of carnivore grocery hauls out of curiosity. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. Had to ask one where they got the fiber for their gut microbiome. One of the good things about summer in Alabama is that there are plenty of locally-grown vegetables and fruit at roadside stands and farmers markets. Less expensive than in grocery stores, and much better taste.
