I was 16 when I first heard PF on the underground FM station living with my folks in the SF Bay Area in 1968. UmmaGumma had just been released and my friend bought it and we listened to it in his room at his house. They played Astronomy Domine.. and I looked the same as you - speechless. Sadly, we Floydies just get older but our respect and awe to have been a part of the PF 'LIVE' generation will never leave... Welcome to the best music ever made.
I think the Pulse tour was the greatest concert tour in history. I have a hard time trying to imagine it being topped, ever! One of my greatest regrets is missing the tour when it came to New Orleans, Louisiana. We were putting on an off road motorcycle race in Biloxi, Mississippi and I was club president. We had a campground full of people who had come from all over to race and see the race the next morning. I couldn't ignore my responsibilities. Looking back, I should have turned my position over to another club member. At the time, I didn't understand how epic the tour was!!! Life....
I don't know if it's the best tour in history, but it's still the best show I've seen in my 49 years. And I've made it a point to see as many of "The Greats" as I could. ... I'm eternally grateful that it was so well recorded for posterity. This is the show I witnessed when I was 19, and I can relive it with others in 2024. 😊
You say you're not moving around or reacting that much because you're absorbing it! I've seen these guys live four times in three different decades and if you look out at the audience nobody else is moving either!!! Their music is meant to be set down and listen to and it also kind of mesmerizes and hypnotizes! Always enjoy seeing someone see this for the first time and react like all of us did the first time!! Stay on the journey and check them out when they were your age or maybe even younger & react to the song "Echoes" Pink Floyd live in Pompeii 1971 and you can see that they've been brilliant for a very long time!!
what an excellent idea this reaction is. today I have to get my new headphones and this fabulous concert will be the first on my listening list. You made my day. Thank you so much. 👍
THAT was the Best Concert I've ever seen. Light Show will blow you away and the sound was better than the Studio Version. It was a Religious Experience and I seen that concert in Ohio State Station with over 150 Thousand People EASY probably closer to 200 but you get the Best of Both Worlds with the sound and Light Show. Great reaction always brings back memories of that one Perfect night outside with Airplanes during figure 8's over the field. I'll never forget it and you should watch the Whole Pulse Concert Live just for yourself and you can feel what ever emotions you want to feel. Some Crying and some Smiling because they are experiencing, memories. Most of his best stuff was written in the late 1979 and it will live forever.
It's the total experience, a wall of sound. If you're in the audience you hear the music, you see it in the lights vibration and you feel the vibrations as well
I have never seen PF live, but I remember when I first saw this concert video I thought the opening track (Shine On You Craze Diamond) was the greatest live music performance I had ever seen ... until they played the next song - and then the one after that. Pink Floyd is in a league of their own.
The only thing better than Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd live. You can't go wrong with anything you choose from this concert. One of These Days, Keep Talking, and Great Gig in the Sky are musts. And from their Delicate Sound of Thunder concert give On the Turning Away and Dogs of War a listen. Pink Floyd is really like no other music and I look forward to more reactions. Don't shy away from their long songs, they all leave you wanting more. 💗🤘🏽
I still have mine, but the crappy 90s laser printing has faded with time. 😢 It's just a blank pink ticket master stub. But... it's still framed with the "Momentary Lapse of Baseball" article and a shot of Mile High Stadium with the stage setup. (The Rockies were brand new in 1994, and Coors Field hadn't been built yet.)
That wasn’t an @outro”. That was a gorgeous guitar solo. The outro is when he goes back into the riff from the beginning of the song. Just because there’s no lyrics, doesn’t mean it’s an outro.
When I first heard Pink Floyd in my youth, I was possessed to go out and get the album. I wonder if reactors do the same or are they forever cursed to listen to a song only once, chopped up with pauses. 🤔 It's a shame you don't get to experience Pink Floyd's magical melodies for the FIRST time as they were intended. A full, glorious, loud, uninterrupted journey from song to song to song until the album's completion. Perhaps one day you will indulge yourself. Weed optional.
love dire straits but this was the best concert of all time, tho pretty easy to do when they have so many great songs and vibes 'and Doctor Strange is always changing size' indeed
Lyrics don't come more meaningful than "There's a silence which speaks so much louder than words of promises broken". Oh Yes, tee hee, I was there at this concert :) Whatever you think of this video, it was 10 times better in person.
I watched that, live, in my hometown STRASBURG, France, the stadium, La Meinau....Magic....I was only 14 years old....I, played guitar only since 2 years😂It's my favourite's song, from Pink Floyd....Then, ON the turning away, and Comfortably numb....It's, because, in in that song, David used the technical skills of Jimi Hendrix my hero😂David, as all the guitar heroes, never puted the amps on the top volume (on 10)😂It's too complicate to controle....the only idiot who did that was Jimi Hendrix😂10 on the amps, 10 on the guitar😂and he controled everything with his long huge fingers....That's how he created the crazy sounds of his guitar, the FEEDBACKS....But, in that sound, David, put everything on 10😂That's how he creates that violent, powerfull, sound, the feedbacks....And, he uses the whamly bar, like Jimi....After, they play like Pink Floyd: incredible music, all the musicians perfect, the incredible light show, the perfect sound production....And, perfect voices as always....Hendrix was a better musician, but not a better singer....That song is MAGIC....❤Peace from France ✌️
He's an Englishman speaking clearly in his native tongue. I suggest your accent is equally unintelligible to some people, but you're probably too narcissistic to comprehend that.
Sorry, as a french guy, i realized i didn't wrote english properly😂Sorry...I wrote: i watched it live....I meant: i was there. In the stadium😂 ...peace from France....Ps: i like your reaction, and i like when english peoples are talking english😂i can understand what you say....😂the arrogant idiots from usa, telling about you by saying: "english accent" i can't understand them😂(english peoples talked english, long before the usa😂, so they have an accent😂)....✌️🤭
I got to see this concert. It was a moment in my life I will never forget

honestly i could listen to him play that intro/outro all day and never get sick of it lol
I listen to this song almost every day...and all the rest pf the albums regularly...I'm 69
David Gilmour has said he could lean back and be supported by the air pounding out of his speakers, and that it was the greatest feeling.
In my opinion the best live concert ever recorded
IMO best concert ive ever seen in my life..
Absolutely, I was there.. just awesome
Hard to top.. that's for sure.

Been to a few shows over the years and in our defense, there was so much smoke going around I couldn't really feel my body 😂
It's also not meant to be talked through either lol
EVERY single song from Pulse is mind blowing. What a concert!!! I suggest you do them all at some point.
‘He can’t half play a guitar’ must be the best thing I’ve ever heard!
what an excellent idea this reaction is. today I have to get my new headphones and this fabulous concert will be the first on my listening list. You made my day. Thank you so much.

Великолепно! В молодости был CD диск, с большим удовольствием слушала.

Greetings from Miami, Florida. Great reaction, Dave! From the same Pulse collection, please check out RUN LIKE HELL, and also TIME.

Woohoo! 🤗 More PF! 🥰🐰

"HIGH HOPES" or "TIME" aswell as many more, you wont be disapointed
Enjoyed your reaction, my friend
Thank you so much
I saw this tour in the USA, still have my ticket stub
Wish I had mine - my date for the concert kept them. 😢

Great Reaction Keep Talking, Money from pulse also On The Turning Away 1988 live

Pink Floyd is like the Energizer Bunny. They just keep going and going.
You need to listen to "run like hell" same concert,
'Echoes' Live at Pompei will show you just how talented David Guilmore was as a Youngster
The studio version is better.
How talented they ALL were! (Gilmour) 👍🏼

Saying David Gilmour can't half play a guitar is like saying Michael Angelo wasn't a half bad church painter.
Welcome to the Machine ( which is by the way a kick ass song from Pink Floyd)
Keep in mind - 2 drummers

"Keep Talking" with a spoken part by Stephen Hawking from the same concert will make your tongue itch....
Não , não, não Nunca interrompa um solo de guitarra 🎸, AINDA mais de DAVID GILMOUR 👎
"Reaction" doesn't mean "talk a lot"...just sayin' 🙃
Терпеть не могу ,,реакций,, посторонних людей на музыку Pink Floyd!!! Считаю ,что тут и обсуждать нечего !!!! Ни к чему!!😡👎
Can you please choose to use an accent that everyone can understand...
He's an Englishman speaking clearly in his native tongue. I suggest your accent is equally unintelligible to some people, but you're probably too narcissistic to comprehend that.
