My feeling was that after a Pink Floyd concert you are no longer the same person. It did something to you that you can't describe. I experienced it in Cologne, Germany in 1994. It was like traveling to another universe.
I saw this concert in Tempe AZ IN 94, I totally agree with you.
I was in Cologne too. In 1989 and 1994. After that Concert you have another meaning what good music is. Pink Floyd takes you on another higher Level of Music. It’s a out of body experience

Almost 30 years ago I was there in person and the memory is etched in my mind of maybe the greatest gig I ever attended. So glad it was captured for people to discover now. All that is missing is the physical vibration of Gilmours guitar sound that rippled through you particularly on this song.
I agree. I was there on the night after this recording and there is so much in the hall which you feel but can't detect in the video. Gilmour's guitar was one, the sound went right thru you, there was heat from the flares, the flicker from the mirror-ball which was much stronger than it seems on the video. An experience I will never forget.

@@ianbrooke6342I saw the show at Soldier Field in Chicago. I was in the mezzanine section just slightly below that crystal ball and let's just say I was happy I brought my sunglasses with me. And yes, on top of the blinding lights you had about a million watts of power coming at you from 360 degrees around the stadium. The video can never capture the true experience. What it does do however is give you nice close-ups of the band that you never see when they play live. They let the music lights sound and occasional video do their talking.
Their concerts are one long eargasm…

May 6, 1994 in Tampa Stadium…65,000 give or take in an outside arena. The feeling of Gilmour’s actual guitar tearing through what’s left of your soul😢. One of the greatest nights of my life! Loved your comment about the lighting…so true. PF is a sound and sight experience. You want to close your eyes but you’ll miss half of the experience if you do. Go down the PF rabbit hole…you won’t regret it.
I was there 2, and Life NEVER EVER be the same again, that is 4sure. 30 years has passed soon and no One, I mean NO ONE came to even close to create something to that level of PERFECTION on every level. What an amazing humble gratitude to the Creator to allow me to be live on this plane when PF was around. Thanks for the exact date. ;)

I was there in 1994 and the low bass notes on Richard Wright's keyboard shook you to the core as well as the stands we were sitting on, to get the full benefit of this track you need a very good hifi that can reproduce the bass notes from the keyboard.
This was an amazing concert and I'm so glad I got to witness it in person

I had the chance to see this concert two evenings in a row at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.
What distinguished these two concerts from others that I saw, was the respect that the spectators showed towards these virtuosos of music and atmosphere.
The 62,434 people present these two evenings seemed almost hypnotized by Pink Floyd's music, as if everyone were "Comfortably Numb".

Love the Hendrix type intro and exit. If you see this song on "Live at Pompeii" you will see Dave's Jimi Hendrix guitar strap XXX. Which he wore on July 4, 1970 playing the National Anthem. Song about Rioger leaving the group. P.K last concert with 14 days sold out at earl's Court. After the Wall their lighting director Mark Brinkman " An experience not a concert"

It's written about Syd Barrett, one of PF's founding members and original guitarist who left the band and disappeared for many years due to mental health issues. The song brings out the sadness and longing of the remaining band members in the most beautiful way.

Wow Sorrows is one incredible jam session! Does music get any better than this??? I'm not sure that it does. The outro is definitely the cherry on top. Maybe a massive 3-ton steel cherry flying over then so heavy when it lands it crashes everything out the way! Amazing all the way thru. Great reaction too... very authentic!

I literally have a battle scar from seeing Sorrow live in 94. It’s called tinnitus. The volume for the intro and outro was so extreme that you could literally feel your internal organs vibrating. Not exaggerating about either thing. My tinnitus started after this show and is going strong today.

Pink Floyd was the only Concert that I didn't try to get up front and actually wanted to see it from a distance. Seen it at Ohio State Stadium 🏟️ with over 150 Thousand People Easy Probably closer to 200 Thousand People. Because the college kids were buying all the ticket stubs for 5 bucks and selling them outside. I didn't sell mine of course, I have every ticket stubs except for 1 that my friend lost. Probably sold it for all I know lol. But Pink Floyd was the first to use Lights to reflect the emotion of the songs. And they were the Best Ever. I'm 58 now but when I see this video I remember that night and it was a Perfect Night 70 degrees and no humidity. Best Concert in my life

That has been from the beginning of PF, actually. Some of the band members also attributed the quiet to the use of hallucinogens. I saw them 2x back in the day--and the audiences were acting as they do UNTIL the band took the stage. Given the immersive experience, it was not just the music--it was the staging and lights as well. Most unusual live band--so very far out from their contemporaries. I do not think there are any newer performers who have taken up the mantle to create such an immersive experience?

Everybody is locked in, mesmerized. I've been to many hundreds of concerts. Almost every one was a party, but Pink Floyd is an experience!
