I’m a big fan of bar ends having got them as standard on my Speed Triple. They look so much better, plus the Triumph bar ends are a decent size. I’ve shared your vid to a mate who has just bought a 1200S and interested to do some mods. Great video as always fella, thanks 👍
I was going to buy the SC-Project like the one your friend has but I was looking for a sound closer to what a traditional Ducati dual pipe sounds like, hence I bought the Termi exhaust. The fact I was able to get the Termi slip on with up-map from eBay for less than the SC Project was the deciding factor for me.
Both bikes looking epic and happy to see you’ve been enjoying the dry roads and the opportunity of giving the new bike a run. 2018 could be the summer of Monster love! Looking forward to the Spanish sunshine and smooth sweeping roads✌🏻
Cheers for watching, so excited to getting out on her again but rained all day today but may go out tomorrow eve, Spain trip in about 5weeks and cannot wait as the roads there are perfect and empty? What do you ride?
This could well be the longest 5 weeks of your life!! The bank holiday weekend is set to be the start of the summer and I’m sure your brother and mates will be out to make the most of sunshine in a pre-Spain adventure. I’m old school and have had a few interesting bikes, Suzuki GT250 RamAir, GT380, DR400Z, Honda XT500, Aprilia Pegaso, Honda CBR600, Fireblade but nothing apart from a PCX (!) for commuting over the last few years! Think I may have fallen for the 2018 CB1000R but who knows besides choosing is half the fun!! Stay safe. Much respect ✊
I know mate, wend looks great, I’m out every eve if it’s dry to get my miles done for service, my mates waiting to test ride to new CB1000, think in a few weeks it looks a great bike, so many to pick from but as you say choosing is the fun bit! I had a pcx as my first bike and loved it, bet you are well excited to get back on a bigger bike, let me know what you choose, cheers GMAN 👍
I’ve enjoyed your comments etc re the monster. Very useful as I’m very close to getting my first Ducati (monster) so much appreciated. Just need to decide whether to go for the red or the grey 😀. Not an easy choice as both colours look great.
Hi Stevan, glad you are enjoying my vids, you will love your new Monster whatever the colour, I found it hard to choose too, Ducati had a red one in stock and did me a mega deal so went for that 😜
I’ve got the SC project CRT Singular can on my 1200S. That thing makes some beautiful noises. Very loud so if you’re not a loud pipe fan then it isn’t one to go for. It needs a remap though as idle is always chasing. I’m not a million miles from you guys. From essex and often come past Cambridge Ducati on a Sunday morning after a breakfast at the silver ball.
Hi David, Would love to see/hear your bike one day, maybe if you hear me mention in another video that I’m going to Ducati then we could meet up for a geeky bike chat, cheers, GMAN 😬
G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits I’ll be at the Silver Ball Cafe in Royston this Sunday morning around 9:30 for an hour while we have breakfast with some friends. We’ll then head past Ducati Cambridge en route to Finchingfield there after. If you’re about, let me know.
Ducati have self-cancelling indicators on the xDiavel, so the technology is there. However they need cruise control for those long freeway rides fitted on the Monster and Panigale.
Hi Grant, another nice little vid, you and Wags on near identical bikes. Just shows you how individual tastes in accessories can give each other little ideas on what to do with your own bike, without directly copying . Those bar end mirrors are real nice and actually work, see you’ve ordered some now. I agree a comparison between your exhausts would be good without baffles, although, as a fan of no baffles, they both sound fantastic with them in. Maybe you should both consider K&N air filters, you would get a nice crisp throttle response and done in conjunction with the baffle out, would transform the bike. Think you’ll find that as with most new bikes the ECU would adjust the fueling but a remap would not be the end of the world. Maybe another visit to MCT prior to going to Spain would enhance the enjoyment. Take good care dude👍🏻🏍✊️😎
Hi Mike, will take my baffles out at some point, Ducati said the the remap that comes with the pipe is good for baffles in or out, air filter swap could be a good plan! am maybe looking into a steering damper next if I can get a good price on one 😜
Hi, I am thinking about buying a motorcycle, I did not drive 5 years, I am interested in the ducati monster 821 or 1200 s, before that I rode the ktm duke 690, triumph street triple r, I like the 1200s more but I do not know if it is too strong, I live in NY and I need a motorcycle to travel to work
hi there, nice video. About your face cam, you can get an extension (arm, i saw a couple from Ram, i suppose gopro ones will also be available) maybe it will solve the prob. without having to replace the mount. ..or once you get the rizoma bar-end mirrors you can utilize the holes left from the original mirrors, the possibilities are endless hahaha small edit: i have the rizoma mirrors they work great but for me, 2 small things based on my experience and personal pref. , 1) they do vibrate a bit (not nearly as much as the original ones) in my case mainly the right hand side one, so it might be due to installation. 2) screws that are in the base of the mirrors used to tighten them onto the bars could be of better quality (some rust in the small opening). I do enjoy them a lot and you see enough behind you even when turned inwards. Looks are definitely more aggressive, like they should be.
Shame you sold the monster ! I've just ordered a black on black 2020 model. Just think of all the stuff you'd have done to it this past 2 years. you would be a goldmine of info on the Monster by now 😂😂👍🏻Keep up the good work with your video's. I enjoy them even though you ride a KTM now 👍🏻
Ian Chamberlain Same here. Ordered a black on black 1200s from Ducati Manchester. Upgrading from an 821. Got another 7 to 10 days before they deliver it so these vids are keeping me going, lol.
@@vitalstatistics938 My 1200s is in the shop but they said 7-10 days before it'll be pdi'd and ready. I've decided to wait for the Sept 1st 70 reg. I don't know where my patience has come from!! Mate, good question, do miss the 959 now and again but 99% of the time the Monster suits the type of riding I do and when I would push the 959 way past the speed limit I don’t that often on the Monster as it has no wind protection which is a good thing as slows me down, even when I go to Spain in June I will enjoy the Monster way more on the switch back roads as most of it will be under 80mph, and definitely don’t miss my ass getting mega hot in the summer from the 959’s under seat exhaust , was still a great bike though, may go for a V4 PANIGALE one day to have with the Monster 😜

TERMIGNONI

+ Sound adjustment via one or two baffles
- Heavier
- May have to remove Termi's for rear wheel access
- Expensive
SC-PROJECT
+ Light weight

+ An ECU Re-Flash is generally more efficient and customizable than the Up-Map
- An ECU Re-Flash is a hassle
