Hello Gary. Beautiful guitar and awesome skills. I have a question: Do you know if there is any VST out there of this guitar? I know it´s not the same but i don´t have the money nor the space at home to buy every instrument i like so i buy VST´s. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for the kind words. In this video I'm using a Wegen M100. However after this video I switched to a golden gate which is identical. Both are oddly enough labeled as Mandolin Picks. Both have no point and three rounded and beveled edges. I switched because the Golden Gates are easier to find and less costly. The Wegen picks were $5.00 US each.
@Edward McLaughlin : Yes me too, I have block inlays though. I’m just torn between the 63,64 reissues and I’m trying to understand the difference between our 335’s and the custom shop ones and are they worth it?
Gary, great review, I just bought a 335 replica made in the US/California a beautiful guitar. I play acoustic mainly "Taylor GS 8" I was wonder what string gauge you use on your 335, mine came with 10s but I was thinking of trying 11s as I'm not used to light strings.
Thanks Michael, I usually use 10-46 on Gibson semi hollow. 12-50 on Gibson Archtop. If I remember correctly this guitar was strung with 10-46 Gibson Vintage Reissue
Guitars can vary..... the amp and the settings can also have significant impact on sustain as well. So in short tough to say with any certainty if that is normal. Thanks for your question....
Only a Gibson Guitar sounds like this. I got no clue how they manage this! I got several Gibson Guitars and they all sound like "Gibson", my other great guitars sound different! I never understood how this works!
Well Steven in a year like 2020 Santa will likely give you a hall pass on the naughty. In other words sir life is short ..... go get one and come see me for lessons i will make sure your playing becomes elevated !
I bought one too but the UPS office guy or the delivery guy stole it!! They claim its just lost, after a month i finally got my Refund back. This is the second item that UPS seems to have lost and they just dont care about it in the big picture of their operation!
Hmmm - I now realize the CS-356 tone doesn't compare at all with the ES-335. It's nice, but the ES-335 is superior, although much larger. For a small guy, it's like holding a satellite dish - hahaha.
Finally bought my first 335 about a month ago, after a lifetime of dreaming about it, plays like a dream.
me 2
One of theee best demos of classic 335 tone I have come across .
rhykko77 thank you !
@@GaryBrunoTV Can you demo the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1962 ES-335?
Sounds wonderful Gary!Nice playing!
Michael thank you so much I appreciate the kind words.
Gibson knocked it out of the ball park with the ES 335 and maybe 1963 was the peak year. Nice job with the sounds.
My father bought me the same 335 in mid 1963 - the serial number indicates it was manufactured in 1962. I still have that guitar!
Excellent
@@GaryBrunoTV - nice playing!
Superb demonstration of a wonderful instrument.
Many thanks!
Love the tone with both PUPs on. Shucks, I love the sound of the guitar, the sound of the amp/stomp box, AND the sound of the player. #respect.
Thank you sir.
@@GaryBrunoTVHave you tried out the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1962 ES-335?
Lovely calm and well performed demo, just as I like them :-)
beautiful intro, beautiful guitar and great skill, good video

My dream guitar
Jas....... There are several styles being suggested however if I had to choose only one I would say jazz.

Hello Gary. Thanks for the review, it's outstanding, so is your playing. One question: which humbuckings are in this one? thanks
I believe these are the 57's
There is no finer guitar made than a 335 and Mr. Bruno is its Master!!!!
Thanks very much for the generous compliment
Thank for the demo.
Well, my second comment on this clip.
After seeing this I set my sights on 335. Got it now. Amazing instrument.
Lucky. I can only dream.

I did lots of that!
Is it also a custom shop 63?
@@marlon1171
No, just standard run, dot frets.

Thank you
nice playing
Thank you......
anyone know the piece at the beginning??
Isn’t a piece I just improvised some chords within a key
My 335 has significantly less sustain then my LP Trad. Is this normal?
Guitars can vary..... the amp and the settings can also have significant impact on sustain as well. So in short tough to say with any certainty if that is normal. Thanks for your question....
how much would one of those cost?
Around 200 to 500 😂
It varies maybe $3k

At least you have a few and they sound great ! Likely a combination of the pick ups and the wood. But I’m am not an expert I just try and play them. 😀
